Boulder Belt is amazing. Lucy and Eugene are truly originals, dedicated to sustainable agriculture, and they go WAAY beyond "organic." They only use "real" and heirloom seeds, which means you have a choice of amazing veggies, berries, melons, and herbs all year long. Hot houses guarantee kale through the winter, and stored root veggies mean that even winter soups are garden fresh. Over the past many years, I have purchased their produce from the Oxford Farmer's Market and been a member of their CSA. I believe you can find them at the Eaton Market these days, or you can visit their farm store just north of Eaton. Expensive, you say? Well, unlike McDonald's and Wal-Mart, Boulder Belt is not subsidized by the government. This is the cost of healthy, tasty food. read more

Boulder Belt has two very knowledgeable owners (plus Nate the dog). They have done their research on varieties that thrive in our region and soil. They have endless ideas on how to prepare their produce in healthy and tasty recipes (home tested). Lucy and Eugene provide education to their customers as well as a healthy and affordable option to The Store. You will be welcomed to their store and to their experience as farmers. Boulder Belt Eco-Farm is in good hands with Lucy and Eugene. You and your family will be in good hands if you are trusting your nutrition to Boulder Belt products. The produce and eggs are wonderful, flavorful and a treat to have in our house. (the site would not let me mark the stars ...but we are big fans) read more

Boulder Belt Eco-Farm grows over 60 different fruits, vegetables and herbs for our CSA, farm store. Crops such as kale, garlic, carrots, watermelon, beets, asparagus, basil, raspberries, spring mix, leeks, collards, cucumbers and more.

History

Established in 1996.

Boulder belt was founded in 1994 and and has grown over the past 20 years as well as moved in 2005. We were certified Organic through OEFFA from 1996 until 2002.

Meet the Business Owner: Lucy O.

I own a sustainable small farm with my husband Eugene and we grow over 60 different fruits, vegetables and herbs, many of them heirloom varieties. We have been farming sustainably for over 20 years. Back in the 1990's through 2002 we got the farm certified Organic. I was born and raised in SW Ohio. I got a degree in anthropology from Miami university. Before getting into growing great produce I worked as a chef and horse groom/trainer with both racing stock and show horses (dressage/hunter/w-day eventing). I love to cook the things I grow and I love to photograph things around the farm and other environs with my digital SLR camera. I have 5 rescue kitties and a dog, Nate who is dying too meet you
