I never expect much from airport restaurants, but this was genuinely the worst experience I've had. The service was terrible. It was obvious no one wanted to be there or had any interest in providing basic hospitality. Every question or request was brushed off. It took 45 minutes to get my food, which is wild for an airport, and I never even got water. I couldn't get anyone's attention, and when my food finally arrived I didn't have silverware. The person I stopped literally said, "Not my job. Ask your server," which is how I learned I even had a server. On top of that, the app they force you to use doesn't work. It loaded perfectly when I needed to order, but when I tried to close out it wouldn't load at all. I had to let it time out, which automatically added a 20 percent tip. I was honestly about to leave no tip, something I've never done. How convenient for them And the food was horrible. At 4:30pm, the only dinner option available was bolognese, which already shows a lack of planning. It was the worst bolognese I've ever had, and there wasn't a single bit of meat in it. Boulton & Watt offers a virtual order and pay option that is wonderful when navigating connecting flights...theoretically. The app is very clunky, kicking me out of the current order every time I wanted to explore a new section. Additionally, the app offers a limited selection compared to the paper menu, and many of those items were not available. Be on the lookout for cocktail "upgrades". I completely missed this when ordering the Golden Goal Margarita and ended up with a double shot on the side that I didn't want or need, and skyrocketed the price of my single drink from an already exorbitant price of $27 to $52. Since I don't eat pork and there weren't any vegetarian options like eggs and potatoes, I asked to substitute the bacon for avocado. Unfortunately, the manager, Nanida, chose to argue about the substitution rather than simply accommodate it. The place was not too crowded, but it took a bit of time to finally learn from one of the associates that we were to order using the QR Code on the table. We tried, over and over again. We ordered a couple glasses or wine (priced according to pour size), then our entree selections. Everything came out quickly. My Quinoa Kale Salad ($23) was beautifully plated, and very tasty. I will give them this, what the gas stations and grocery stores started with the customers pumping their own gas, and checking out their own groceries, Boulton & Watt has perfected with their complete and utter lack of customer service. You sit down, scan a code for the menu, order your own food, and then they immediately start a countdown clock as to when they will close out your credit card (with 20% gratuity). We LITERALLY did not have a server make eye contact with us, greet us, or even bring the drink portion of the order prior to the automatic tab close. After two separate requests to at least confirm they knew we had an order (and that we actually existed), the meal is brought out without silverware, straws, friendliness!
