The ambiance of this place is absolutely astonishing. The walk up to the hotel lobby at the JW Marriott, is beautiful. The service was over the top. Our server was Thibaud. He and the rest of the wait staff were very attentive to us, kept the water filled, and ensured that all of our needs were met when we dined this evening. We started off with the fries, which were complementary. They came in 3 different flavors, one had a smoky paprika seasoning on the fries with some sort of smoky barbecue sauce to dip, I'm not sure what the second flavor was, maybe onion? but that flavor amazing and it had a lighter colored dipping sauce for them which was also delicious - we ate all of those fries, lol. The last flavor was fries with rosemary seasoning on them and a spicy ketchup to dip them in. For appetizer, we had the jumbo shrimp cocktail which my daughter and husband devoured. I don't like seafood so I got the bone marrow to share, which was very tasty and flavorful. It came with a short rib purée and toasted bread. For dinner we had 3 fillets, truffle mac & cheese, grilled asparagus, and a baked potato. Everything was good. I have to be honest that I've had better steak at other places, but it was not bad at all. The steaks were cooked well and the sides were good. For dessert, we had the warm beignets. It came with three sauces - a butterscotch sauce, a chocolate sauce, and a mini crème brûlée. The crème brûlée was the best I've ever had, hands-down. The absolute BEST ! The service, the venue and the food were over the top. From the moment we were seated, Sherman was on his game. He knew the menu and was so helpful. We ordered the waygu steak, with Florida lobsters and creamed spinach. The steak was so tender, lobster, perfect and spinach, creamy. We also treated ourselves to selecting from the extensive wine list. Sherman was always checking in to ensure that we were enjoying ourselves...AND WE WERE! If you are looking for great food and an enjoyable dining experience, look no further than Bourbon Steak.   Located inside the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa, Bourbon Steak is an upscale American steak house. The restaurant has ample seating and nice decor which creates a welcoming and comfortable ambiance. The staff are very friendly and attentive; throughout the duration of my meal the staff regularly checked-in when appropriate.   The menu included many classic options that you might find in other steak houses with entrees like an "Filet Mignon 8 oz" and sides like "Potato Puree" and "Broccolini & Cheese". But there were also dishes that you do not find everywhere like the "Black Truffle Mac & Cheese" and the "Caviar Twinkie".  From everything I ordered there was not a dish that I would not recommend. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked for a longer cook to the current steak. Upon return the steak was super charred and when we cut into it it remained medium rare! This was my second time eating here, first time during the day. Obviously, the menus of great restaurants change depending on the season, availability, chefs, etc. I had such an amazing experience when hubby & I ate here for our anniversary (although I do feel a bit robbed by the very expensive wine we had with our steaks that, in my opinion, did not live up to its price), it would be difficult to live up to that night. As expected, the service was top-notch. From the moment you enter, everyone is hospitable and knowledgeable. The food this day, however, was simply average. For some reason, I've eaten at a number of steakhouses lately (Ossobuco, Klaw, Mastro's, Fogo de Chao), and this day's food experience was not great. The best thing about our late lunch/early dinner was the creamed spinach. I will eat here again. The ambience and service is outstanding. We tried the Australian Wagyu Pastrami Spiced Short Ribs that were nicely glazed, and mouth watering tender! Pricey but varied wine list. Service was great. I'm in Miami for work this week, and my boss and I came here for dinner tonight, since our conference is at the hotel. Definitely make sure to get a reservation - he snagged one by asking them earlier today, apparently, but OpenTable also has them. We had a 6pm reservation and when I checked closer to 3-4pm, it said all reservations were taken for that evening. As others have noted in their reviews, they bring you complimentary fries for the table, with three different dipping sauces, which was fun and unique. My boss ordered the miso sea bass, I believe it was, and I ordered the filet. It was very good, and tender, although I wish I got it with a sauce (+$5), as that would have enhanced the flavor. Waitservice was also excellent. Again as others have noted, it can get quite loud inside the restaurant, but when we arrived at 6pm (it opened at 6pm), it was quieter, which was nice. Also be aware that they add a 20% tip to the bill, which the waiter did inform us of. Prices are expensive here but that's unsurprising because a) it's a hotel restaurant and b) it's a Michael Mina restaurant. Very enjoyable, while not quite at the level of the top-notch versions I've had in the UK Duck-fat Fries (A+): Many consider these fries to be the best in the US, and I'll second the motion! Incredibly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, paired with some great sauces. Love it! Black Truffle Mac & Cheese (A-): Very creamy and balanced Jalapeño Cream of Corn (B+): Great flavor and texture, but I wanted more heat! Bourbon Steak Miami is located inside the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry Resort & Spa in Aventura. Once you enter you their main entrance, you make a right to the restaurant. The restaurant is large (and dim) with a big bar, some lounge seating and the dining room. The food was good. We started with their complimentary signature duck fat fries. There are 3 different dipping sauces (spicy ketchup, onion/sour cream and BBQ) and the fries are seasoned in 3 different ways (rosemary, onion and paprika). They were tasty on their own and the onion/sour cream was the fave! The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and tasted good. We also ordered 2 sides: the truffle mac and cheese and asparagus. These are true 'side' portions as it felt like it wasn't enough to go along with the filet mignon. Service was spotty. It took quite some time for the server to say hi at the beginning. You can tell he was very busy but checked on us once during dinner. You'd think you'd get a little better service due to the caliber of the hotel, but maybe it's different since this was the restaurant and it's separate? Either way, it was a good meal. read more

For dinner we ordered the New York strip steak, filet mignon, baked potato, broccolini and cheese, and black truffle mac & cheese. Every single thing we eat was absolutely delicious. I think the smallest critique I have is that I would want more cheese on the broccolini. But I am a huge cheese person! The manager came over and checked on us. Everybody was just really attentive. Food (3/5) - Presentation is immaculate, especially for both the tuna and steak tartare which they prepare in front of you. The lobster pot pie also looks very intimidating. Everything is meant to impress. Would call out the rack of lamb, beef short rib. The prior was the right amount of bite and char, very juicy. The latter was melt in your mouth, and the sauce was rich and complementary. For reference, our party was large and tried a lot of other options, including the flank steak, T-bone, sea bass; and in terms of sides had brussels, fries, spinach. Ambiance (4/5) - dark mahogany floors and well dressed waitstaff, high ceilings, chic and sleek. Service (2/5) - awfully slow. We were seated at 8:30 for a reservation at 8, and only got all of our food out at 9:15 though we ordered pretty quickly. Dessert came out closer to 10:30. Price (1/5) - Most entrees are 60-100. First of all, I've been here many times, and all but one experience have been very good. That's the truth. The Good: The service is consistently great, and my previous meals have ranged from very good to excellent. It's a beautiful restaurant in a nice resort -- always an enjoyable atmosphere and usually a reliable choice. The Bad: I had dinner there on 10/5/25, and unfortunately, things went very wrong. We ordered the Gnocchi appetizer, Local Tomato Salad, a Bone-In Ribeye, and the Lobster Pot Pie. I couldn't even finish my meal because I got really bad food poisoning. I had to leave the table for over 20 minutes, leaving my wife alone -- she couldn't eat the Lobster Pot Pie either since the lobster was overcooked and rubbery. By the time I returned, all I wanted to do was leave. I never even touched my ribeye again leaving most of it in the plate. The Worse: I called to report what happened and spoke with the General Manager. I was honestly shocked by how rude he was. He basically called me a liar and kept using the word "allegedly." I was super offended. He made it very clear that he didn't care and wasn't going to do anything about it. What's even more frustrating is that just a couple of days later, I brought a party of eight for a client dinner -- spent a lot more money -- and the food and service were great again. Still, I couldn't get past how poorly I was treated after getting sick. If I could have changed that client dinner to another restaurant, I would have. I completely understand that things happen -- sometimes food issues occur -- but there's no excuse for a rude or dismissive General Manager. He sets the tone for the whole restaurant, and his attitude was unacceptable. After a day and a half of being sick, the last thing you want is to be called a liar by management. So here's my honest feedback: I've had many great experiences here, but the way management handled this situation left a really bad taste in my mouth. My husband had the pastrami short rib, my daughter had the skirt steak, my son the filet mignon and I had the Amish chicken. For our sides we had the trip, creamed spinach, Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. My chicken came out cold and despite their attempt to warm it up, it was still cold. I want to share this experience to help others make an informed decision about dining here. My friends and I, all from Texas, decided to escape the cold front by heading to Miami for the weekend. The weather there wasn't much better, but we made the best of it by playing golf and trying out different restaurants. Most of the places we dined at were great, but someone suggested we try Bourbon Steak, part of Michael Mina's franchise. We made a reservation for 9 PM and arrived to find the place extremely busy. After a wait, we got seated and ordered. Being from Texas, we know good steak--we've had it at some of the best steakhouses in the world, from Dubai to Europe, Argentina, and, of course, Texas. We ordered the bone-in dry-aged ribeye, expecting a top-tier experience, but it was a disaster. The steak was chewy and tough, nowhere near the quality we expected. We also ordered sides, including a baked potato, which was equally disappointing. The service, overall, was underwhelming. It was slow, and even getting water took longer than it should have. For a high-class establishment, the pace and attentiveness were not up to par. While the staff wasn't rude, the level of service simply didn't match the premium prices we were paying. We let the manager know what happened, hoping for a reasonable explanation. Unfortunately, the manager couldn't provide a logical or satisfactory explanation for the poor experience. While they did offer a small discount on the bill, it didn't make a difference. We had already played 18 holes at West Palm Beach Golf Club, were tired, and were looking forward to a great steak and a satisfying meal. Instead, half of my buddies left hungry. The experience was incredibly disappointing. A couple of my friends didn't even bother finishing their meals--they left their plates untouched. For a high-end restaurant with such steep prices, you expect exceptional quality in both food and service. This fell far short. Take a look at the photos we've shared, and you'll see for yourself. Whether it was due to how busy they were or not, it's no excuse. For the reputation Michael Mina's restaurants carry, this was an utter letdown. Unsafe Experience and Poor Response: I visited Bourbon Steak at the JW Marriott Turnberry in Aventura, Florida on December 30, 2025, expecting a high-end dining experience. Unfortunately, it turned into one of the most distressing restaurant visits I've ever had. Shortly after arriving and before my family and I could even order dinner, I was struck in the head (apparently, by a water carafe), fell to the ground, and blacked out for several seconds. After talking to my family, our server apparently dropped the carafe on my head. She admitted to them that it slipped out of her hands. This was not only shocking but raised serious safety concerns. What made the situation worse was the complete lack of empathy or professionalism from the staff and management--I never received an apology or any explanation of what happened to ease my concerns. At a minimum, the staff should have apologized and clarified the situation. Instead, I was left feeling ignored and unsettled. Even after reaching out to management, they would not admit that a mistake happened, which is extremely disappointing. I had already paid approximately $80 for drinks prior to being seated. We did not finish our drinks, and I never got to enjoy my meal. At this time, the restaurant has not reimbursed me for those drinks. At the very least, they should have reversed the credit card transaction for the drinks and offered to pay for my Uber home. Warning to future diners: Accidents can happen anywhere, but the way a restaurant responds speaks volumes. Based on my experience, Bourbon Steak Miami did not prioritize guest safety or customer care. If something goes wrong, don't expect accountability or assistance. We loved that they told us the table was ours the whole night. The staff was great, the water glasses were always full and the table clean. The somalier was very helpful. My first time coming here and it was absolutely a 5 star experience and here's why! I was staying at the hotel for the weekend and had invited my parents to join me for dinner. They had been raving about this place for the longest so it was the perfect excuse to make it happen! I called and checked for reservations but there were none. So I decided to try my luck and go downstairs to put my name on the list, a gentleman by the name of Guiseppe got us sat right away. He was so incredibly nice and accommodating from the start! As soon as we sat down we were greeted right away and asked for our orders. The first item they brought out was the chefs complimentary special, a French fry flight if you will it was sooooo good. The sauces were made by the chef. I was one happy girl. My mom ordered the short rib, it was so tender and juicy we would say 8.5 out of 10. My stepdad ordered the steak. He would've given it an 8 out of 10 but he wasn't super crazy about the char. I ordered the seabass, a 9 out of 10! My son got the Mac & cheese. He gave it a 10 out of 10! We also got the beignets for dessert. We can all agree, 10 out of 10! Overall our experience was amazing. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and accommodating.
