They have a great range of toys and have the biggest selection of Lego in Banbury, always been my favourite! The upstairs section is dedicated to models and stocks amongst other things Hornby and Scalextric, another of my favourites! The staff in both departments are very helpful and the only thing that lets the store down sometimes is that they just cannot compete with the likes of Argos and Woolies when they do their sales. They have a wide range of original contemporary art. Pottery, sculpture, paintings and now jewelery. They have six exhibitions a year, showing both new and established contemporary artists and a range of work from some of their favourite artists. The website is worth looking at, beautiful things displayed well. Also check out the nearby Turril Sculpture Garden in Summertown library and the North Wall Arts Centre gallery.

If you don't like the art they're displaying, it changes every couple of months. Will the kids like it? They cater for children. 2-4pm at weekends with exhibitions, there's a 'modern art trolley' with activity sheets. They also have family guides, family days and artist-led workshops for children. My experience may be colored by the fact that it's the first one I ever went to and I was super enchanted by the idea...but nevertheless, we had an absolutely incredible time on all our visits. Their cocktails are amazing (try the Brazilian Monk for a decadent dessert drink) and they have snacks and coffee, too. Really impressive collection of board games for all skills, ages, and interests. Staff are fun and friendly and make great recommendations. If you're looking for a great way to spend the night with pals in Oxford, look no further. I miss this place.

The Mary Ogilvie Art Gallery surrounds the Mary Ogilvie lecture theatre, so if you're ever there…read morefor a talk, do take the time to browse the displays during the pre or post-dinner drinks. If you're in college, it's well worth having a look. You can see some of the exhibition through the windows, or enquire at the porters lodge for opening times (usually 10am-6pm when exhibitions are on). I first noticed the gallery when I saw a magnificent photography exhibition ranging from wildlife to war, and have since popped back to see what there is. It's not always to my taste, but it is always interesting, and it changes frequently enough not to be a problem. The art is usually contemporary and produced by local artists, or by students in the Ruskin Art School in Oxford. It's also a place for college students, the art club, and fellows to express themselves, so displays can range from the amateur (but still very talented), to the apprentices, to the masters. The staff are very open to offers of exhibitions, so if you want to give your work some publicity, or you know of a local artist who is interested, don't hesitate to contact the college, who will put you through to the right people. I'm giving it 3 stars because, although the gallery is great, it is limited to just displays of art; there are few facilities to speak of (although college does of course have toilets) and there's not a huge amount else to see. Then again, it's free, so it only costs a bit of effort to go and see some truly creative works.
