The room was clean, basic and well appointed. What a great hotel/restaurant! Literally 2 blocks from the old town Main Street of Wels, Austria…read more Decided to stay here for one night en route to a family reunion about 45 minutes away. The hotel offered single rooms, double and triple rooms. We opted for a double as well, we are two:-). The room is basic but very nicely decorated with a much larger bathroom than what one might expect in Europe. The rooms are adorned with beautiful Austrian style drapes and lovely hard wood flooring. The bathroom has a hairdryer and standup shower that is good size with very good water pressure. Way better than many large brand American hotels. Since this hotel is attached to a beer garden we decided to enjoy some beer and dinner. The food was excellent! Both Cesar Q and I opted for a traditional soup called "leberknoodle soupe". Basically a tasty broth with a meat ball made of liver. To Americans I am sure this sounds nasty as hell. I promise you it is not! I highly recommend it. For our entree we both had the cordon bleu which is a cutlet on each side and inside a piece of ham and some awesome cheese. It's dipped in bread crumbs and lightly pan fried. It's like a schnitzel sandwich. You squeeze lemon on top for added flavor. It's amazing!! It comes with your choice of rice or potato and a salad. The beer here s top notch! The ambiance is great as its a garden setting with tons of tables. Just what one might expect of an Austrian beer garden. There is a small amount of parking on the back side of the property along with bike parking. Only negative for this American is the smoking. It's shocking how many people smoke here considering how health conscious these europeans are said to be. Not a deal breaker just an observation. Highly recommend this place! You will go home well rested and a few pounds heavier as the food is just that good!

The rooms were decent: the heat worked like a charm when cranked right! The bathroom was clean. Lots of towels and no issue with the TV set not working. A bit pricy but there were great views of snowy Linz, Austria in the early morning. Good smelling soap, a crisp made bed, extra hangers and location on the Danube River all rank the 'Nike' as a hotel victory. Great job staff, for not hustling visitors in the morning! Review: 5

Moser is run by the extremely friendly Herr and Frau Moser. The ancient building feels like a kick back to a very different time; when one enters the main rooms through a small entrance room with a vaulted stone archway, the feel of the place is old-fashioned comfort. Dark wood and vintage curiosities such as old firefighting gear, hunting equipment, and traditional decorations cover the walls. The atmosphere in Moser is one of the things that propels it above other eateries I've visited.
