Man. How much they have changed in the years since I wrote my original review. Back then I used to give them the benefit of the doubt for the long wait times, unorganization and I even drove all the way down to their office to continue to do my taxes there, even though I moved almost an hour away. This year I had my taxes audited and reached out to Eddie for advice on what I needed to send the IRS. He took forever to reply - regardless of my multiple calls and emails. He finally replied with a half-assed response. I sent my items to the IRS. They came back with more questions - and a very large sum of money that I had to pay. Again, I reached out to Eddie. It's been about two weeks - and still haven't heard from him. His office told me I'd hear back the next day. I've called and emailed. No reply. The bigger issue is that he and his office have mislead me on things I was able to write off on my taxes. They told me clothing was fine. The IRS clarified what clothing was acceptable. This is all leading to me having to pay a sum, including late fees and interest. I will obviously never go to this office again - and hope noone that went here because of my recommendation has been mislead. read more

NEVER, NEVER AGAIN....Made an appointment a month in advance for 1030 am. Showed up at 10am found the door locked and clients standing outside. Someone showed up around 1020 and opened the door. Clients were in the waiting room complaining how "this happens every time" and 'It's always like this"....someone asked a staff member...when the accountants arrive and she responded "more or less around 11am" ........The tax preparers/accountants showed up around 1130 am......then started calling in clients.................I finally walked out...sorry, but TIME is something that is lost forever, and my time is sacred....I find it rude and unprofessional to keep clients waiting like this while the staff takes their time showing up. They are getting paid for their time, not me. There are too many options to file taxes out there to have to wait like this. read more

So unprofessional, avoid this place at all costs! When I called for my appointment they could not see me for a month, made my appointment for 4pm, showed up today at 4 on the dot to find the waiting room packed and a sign on window saying not to knock bc they were at lunch. Who has lunch at 4, closes the reception desk, and puts up a paper sign on the window. What a joke. The lady opens the window 20 min later and takes everyones names. I wait another 45 minutes and no one in the waiting room has been called.One guy complained and she said that he had a while to go bc the noon appt. still hadn't even been called. Lady at the front desk does not speak a word of English and could care less how much you wait. When I went up and asked what the hold up is and why I was forced to make an appointment if i still have to wait she shrugs and responds take it up with Eddie the person you are here to see. There were still 2 people ahead of me and he was still with someone else. I walked out and will never come here again. My time is valuable and when I have an appointment and I am paying for a service I will not wait 2 hours! Ridiculous, save your time and money and go somewhere that values their clients. read more

There simply aren't enough words that can express the sincere gratitude that I have for Eddie Bovea. For years I have struggled with finding an Accountant whom I trust with my delicate financial situation. I am beyond thrilled that I came across Eddie. I never know whether or not to believe Yelp reviews or not but honestly, I'm so glad I took a chance -- the reviews are 100% true. My 2018 tax return was intense to say the least, riddled with an incredible amount of paperwork and growing pile of tax documents. We were able to wrap things up well before the tax deadline and luckily things were quite favorable on my end. They are incredibly knowledgeable and really take their time to make sure all tax deductions are applied and any credits available are inputed in the tax return according to IRS regulations. Every year something would would happen, someone would mess up and I would have to refill my taxes and I would not receive my tax returns for months. Very Unprofessional! I set up a meeting with Eddie Jr. to discuss taxes and I show up and he's not there. I was told to leave my tax paperwork there and that Eddie would contact me for a follow up. This was back in April. I've emailed and called countless times and the only updates I got was that Eddie had a family emergency and that he would be back in the office the following week. When I called again, they said he wasn't there but that he was working on my taxes. Its September and I have no other update. Now when you call the calls go straight to voicemail. read more

I have been coming to see Eddie Bovea to get my taxes done for the last 2 years. I will continue to see him because he and his office staff are very professional, courteous, and know what they're doing. I make my appointment early (before January) and haven't had any issues. The office is conveniently located, has plenty of parking, and they even have movies on in the lobby while you wait for your appointment. Total disregard for time!!! I have been doing my taxes with Eduardo for over 9 years now. At the beginning I used to make my appointments after work usually around 6:30-7:00. We left the office some times at mid night!!! More recent years to avoid this I have scheduled (well ahead of time) the first appointment of the day. Since the first appt of the day for Eduardo is at 11 am and due to the distance I have to take a day off from work to attend to my appointment.Still I have had to wait 30-40 minutes to be called in. This is acceptable, HOWEVER, this year as the previous I requested the first appointment of the day and was told that the first appt was at 12:00. I received a call from the office the day prior to the appointment to "confirm" my spot for 12:00 the next day. I arrived to the office a little after 11 am and signed in. Waited until around 11:50 to check if Eduardo was in the office and the receptionist replied yes. Checked back again at 12:30 and was asked to wait. Checked back again at 12:50 and they told me that Eduardo was still with HIS PREVIOUS appointment and that He will be busy for another 3-4HOURS that I should come back later or make another. Eduardo is very knowledgeable in the subject matter and that is why we had continued going back I found this TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE . I made my appointment plenty of time ahead The office confirmed the previous day Took a day off to attend to this appointment and a dental appointment at 4 pm I arrived on time to my apply I pay for my service I asked to speak with Eduardo but all he did was pop out of the office and yelled that he will NOT do my taxes. No apology and no explanation was provided. JUST BE WARE that although Eduardo is very knowledgeable he has NO RESPECT for other people's time!! read more

They also are very detailed and really take their time to get to know you as a person and not just as a client. Prepare to waste an entire day there!!! Even after you have an appoitment. I did my taxes with them and after waiting 4 weeks of not hearing anything from my taxes I called the IRS and they tell me my taxes were never filed. I called Bovea and they are like oh yes! The IRS send us a letter saying your child social is wrong. (Even when i gave the # and faxed a copy of the social it was still wrong). The part that pissed me off is that they waited to tell me this till the moment i called them to ask why the IRS havent recieved my taxes. Bad service and rude people at the front desk. HORRIBLE customer service. DO NOT go here. Waited over 4 hours and was then asked to leave and come back a week later to be called before another family who had already made an appointment for that day. Lord knows these people do this all the time and that's why it takes so long because the wait is not by appointment time. This is the 2nd time it has happened. My heart goes out to the poor families who wait for hours after a long days work with medical illnesses on top of that and are then asked to leave because you're appointment planning was off. I've been doing my taxes at this firm for the past five years & I wouldn't change a thing! My appointment is always on time (during tax season I book early) & if I forget anything, they can usually help me over the phone! They are extremely experienced & I trust their knowledge w my eyes closed! Everyone is always really nice- they all greet you with a smile- from the front desk attendants along with everyone in each office inside.
