Located at the north end of Estero Blvd. Very nice beach with affordable $2.00 per hour parking. Bathrooms are clean, large, and easy accessible. The area is so nice and such a vibe! The boardwalk to the beach is large but short so you're at the beach in no time! During the weekend this place is poppin, but during the weekdays it's the best place to be with plenty of parking. Security often patrols the area and conveniently located next to 5th street!

Need to get some Beach Therapy? Look no further than this beautiful oasis away from the crowds. Feel free to bring along a picnic lunch or even sone charcoal snd grill some burgers.. Their parking lot is based on $2 per hour parking either cash or credit card. Gorgeous picnic areas with tables and some outdoor grills. There are vending machines available for refreshments as well. There are fully operational restrooms and changing areas. There is even a metal table tennis table to play. Just bring your own paddle and ping pong ball.

Bowditch Point Park is at Northern tip of Fort Myers Beach. It overlooks the Sanibel Island and Estero Bay. This is an ideal location for watching the sunset. You can see the Sanibel Lighthouse and the Causeway Bridge just standing by the beach. Parking fee is $2.00 per hour. It takes bills and credit cards. The major problem is that the parking space is designed for only 75-80 cars. So, you have to go early or wait for an available space. The good news, most sun bather only goes for 1-2 hours due to the strong Florida Sun. You may have to wait for a parking space but you can have your partners set up your gear on your favorite spot while waiting in your car. Please note there is no pets, no alcohol, no life guard or live shelling allowed. However, there are picnic tables and grills available as well as rest rooms. You must pack your own food and drinks. We just have over 14" of rain over last three weeks. The gulf side beach is full of soft and smooth sand. On the bay side, there are many trees with a very small narrow beach area and a small trail. Benches are situated strategically to watch the waves and boats. Many boaters anchored their boats there and make this a private swimming area. If you are lucky, you may see a few tortoises or a few birds or dolphins and manatees. With the recent downpours, there are colonies of mosquitoes. Make sure you spray and shield yourself with mosquito or insect repellent before you enter else mosquitoes will eat you alive! Overall, Bowditch Point offers fairly easy parking, places to picnic if you so desire. You can also simply park and walk to beach area for shelling and wildlife in a quiet and peaceful environment.

Beautiful walk on the beach. Lots of fun finds! We went early, best to get ahead of traffic.

Out of all the beaches in Fort Myers, this is the best beach of all. Parking is a little tricky, you may have to wait for somebody to leave to get a spot, but it is well worth the wait.

I'll try any beach that my Lee County parking pass can get me into without having to pay for parking! Finally, checked Bowditch Point Park off my list, and I think I'll be back here often. What a great park! They've got all the amenities and more of your typical beach park - bathrooms, water fountains, parking, views, clean beaches, pavilions, picnic tables and more! There weren't too many spots at this park like Martin mentioned, but we had no problem in October. There were actually plenty of spots when we arrived and when we left. It looked like parking was only $2/hr which isn't bad for beach parking. The beach was peaceful! Unfortunately, the sign read no dogs or alcohol, but both were at the beach during our visit. No one was policing during our time there, so if you are a rule breaker just be sure to clean up after yourself or your pet. The northern tip of Ft. Myers Beach likely has a great view of the sunset, and that's my next plan to visit for a sunset.

This is a great place with a little bit of everything for everyone. The parking lot doesn't hold many cars and that keeps the crowds down. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and do their own thing. There are picnic areas, nature trails with random benches spread out to enjoy the views, grass to layout and stare at the clouds and oh yeah... The GULF OF MEXICO!!!! Beach is a bit covered in shells and not maintained as Fort Myers Beach, but the raw beauty is perfect. When you're done for the day there's bathrooms and outdoor showers. Get cleaned up and head down the street for a bite to eat. This is definitely my new hangout.

This park is a hidden gem. People do not seem to go to the north end of Estero Island and don't realize it is a county park with beaches, picnic areas and natural areas. Yes, many do know it is here, but we had no trouble getting a parking place. You do pay by the hour or use a Lee County Parks annual parking pass. The bus also stops here.

Love the little boutiques and eateries here. Today we crossed over the Matanzas Bridge into the Fort Myers Beach area which was very busy. Fortunately, we found a place to park directly under the bridge for $5.00 per hour. Only a five minute walk from the sandy beach, there were plenty of eateries to choose from for lunch and decided to eat at Snug Harbor Marina. Literally had a dang good grouper sandwich and a cold beer on a wooden dock overlooking the intercoastal waterways.

It's a white sandy beach that overlooks the beautiful Gulf of America. So what's better than going to a great beach? Why it's going to a great beach and attending the 34th Annual American Sand Sculpturing Championships. This was held on the beach behind the Diamond Head Beach Resort. It's usually always held in November and this was my first time attending. I was amazed at the finely sculpted works by the talented artists who participated in this event! The detail, creativity, and time put into these were truly evident and inspiring! It was $5.00 to attend the event. Besides the sand sculptures, there were many tents set up with crafts for sale. I had a great time. So even if you're plans don't include being in FMB in November to attend next year's Sand Sculpturing Championships, that's okay - you can enjoy this great beach anytime and I'll guarantee you'll have a good time.

I had a douchebag approach us on a four wheeler demanding that we leave because dogs were not allowed. I apologized to the d!ckhead with a tiny c0ck on a four wheeler feeling tough, and I let him know that I didn't see the signs. He started smirking like a smug a$shole as if I was stupid and said that there were signs everywhere. He was completely focused on taking a picture of me and my family with the dog even after we were leaving, he circled back around to continue harassing us. He took all his energy and put it into our family having a puppy on the beach that we were making sure it did not leave any droppings anywhere, and we also leashed the dog, as asked. He chose to ignore a couple being inappropriate in front of children on the beach giving oral to each other and tongue kissing and making out in front of children and thinking that it was funny. He let this couple continue to be inappropriate on the beach the entire time you were out there and only chose to approach me for the dog. Do not go to this beach if you have a family, and definitely don't bring your dog. I feel like it was extremely rude because even after he approached me and I acknowledge what he said and told him that I honestly did not notice the signs, he got very sarcastic and acted like there was no excuse for my mistake and that I should have known that we shouldn't have brought our puppy along. Instead of my son having a nice birthday chill day on the beach, now he's describing the oral sex that he witnessed on the beach. F*** this beach, f*** that guy on the four wheeler, and he decided to try to educate me on a history of the beach not knowing that this beach was originally a safe place for black people. In the future, just don't be a d!ck in a four wheeler. Maybe stop people from licking privates on a family beach instead of worrying about the obedient puppy making a birthday boy smile. Once you are on the island, the relaxation starts, just a quick walk and you're on the beach. There are chairs and umbrellas set up and you can lay in the shade/sun with a book and enjoy the views. There are restrooms at the club house, and a snack bar if you forgot your drinks, snacks, etc. Prices are reasonable. Wear flip flops since there are more shells around you can step on. The beach is never crowded, it is more natural, relaxing with the white sands and the turqoise water. I enjoyed my walks, my swims and sunbathing here, the perfect vacation spot. I am getting the blues just thinking about it. A slice of paradise in Florida!
