Visited this place yesterday because I saw a picture of the amazing soft serve ice cream cone on their Yelp page. That was my goal after having some delicious lunch else where. My first thought was this place is a small establishment and has a small drive thru. I'm deathly afraid of driving thru drive thru because curbs jumps out and hits my rims allll the time Lol. Thank goodness my sister was driving so she went thru the small space with ease. Anywhooo .. we went with a goal in mind to order our dessert. We both ordered a large one all vanilla and one mixed vanilla and chocolate cone. The lady that took our order was pleasant and friendly. My sister said her cone (vanilla) tasted a lot like McDonald's ice cream but bigger. My mixed vanilla and chocolate was amazing! We had a very unpleasant experience w this Bowinkles in Rancho Cordova. I ordered clearly 1 burger combo ,2 burgers and 2 fries. I even repeated this to the lady who took the orders.When we arrived home , the 3 of us noted disappointingly that we were only given 2 burgers, with the 3 fries and the drink.I called and told the manager about their error. He was immediately dismissive and argumentative. Despite our trying to inform him about their mistake in NOT fulfilling what we had ordered, he smugly refused to acknowledge this, even telling my husband that he was "talking over him "(!!) and threatening that he would hang up. First time I came here back in 2019 and the wings were fire then! Just came back now 2026 and still the best wings of all time. Buffalo sauce is on point, everything is hot and the fries never get soggy! Only complaint if I had to give anything but not a deal breaker would love a more saucy ranch it's like creamy like sour cream. Here is my two cents on the quality in taste of the food. I ordered via Uber eats the food arrive, and it quickly manner and was still hot . I use their special buy one get one free . I received a large portion of french fries salted just perfectly and three corn dogs . I was pleasantly surprised and it was delicious food . I failed to ask for mustard, but they should've at least added some without question . But overall, I thought the meal was delicious and well worth the money . read more

This was my first time going to Bowinkle's in Rancho. I've been curious about them for some time because their menu resembles a mom-and-pop restaurant that I used to work at many years ago, even including the Mexican food station. I decided to start my experience off by trying the fish sandwich, pastrami sandwich, and deep-fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were awesome, because they were JUST like the ones I used to enjoy at Pop's Drive-in in Bakersfield. This isn't gourmet food, so you can't compare to a big chain restaurant, but these mushrooms were so delicious and nostalgic to me. The ranch dressing is awesome too. I thought I was going to get runny cheap, bulk-bottled ranch, but instead I got a thick, creamy ranch dip. As for the fish sandwich, that was awesome too. I liked the size of the fish portion and the fact it came with all the produce, just the way I used to have it at Pop's. Except instead of a square fish patty on a round bun, Bowinkle's fish sandwich was a longer piece of fish on a 5-6" roll. I will definitely be ordering this again. As for the pastrami, it wasn't technically bad. I feel like most everyone else will like it just fine. The flavor and portion was fine, and the pastrami was fairly lean, which I like. But some of the slices were super thick. I've been searching everywhere to find a pastrami that is like Togo's, but without the crazy price. At both Pop's Drive-in and Togo's they slice the pastrami really thin and cook/soak it in a delicious brothy juice. I love thin, lean ribbons of pastrami that have a little bit of moisture from the juice when you put it on the sandwich. So I might order a pastrami from Bowinkle's again, but I would REALLY order them often if the meat preparation was changed slightly. We love Bowinkle's for a good old fashioned burger. Everything we have tried has been delicious. The food never makes it long enough for a picture but some of our favorites are the mushroom burger, fried mushrooms and smoothies. Service is always friendly and you will have to wait a few minutes as your food is made fresh to order. We have never eaten inside just taken food to go via their drive thru but it seems like a very casual family friendly dining room. What do you recommend? read more

I was here in Sunday, my sister introduced me to this place , I had the fudge sundae , onion rings and egg rolls. The sundae taste reminded me of the bucket of fudge ice cream swirls I had during my child hood . The egg rolls is amazing and it has meat in it, but the onion rings were mediocre and it does come with the a side of ranch sauce. I came back and I'm glad I did. The ice cream is always great, last time i came the hamburgers were okay, but now I can say they're great. The onion rings are spectacular, but what it really comes down to is the ranch, this is no average jar ranch, its very thick, and creamy, french fries will stand up straight in the ranch, just by how creamy it is. For 60 extra cents for this little cup of ranch, it's worth every penny! The service is always ready to help and give me ranch. I've driven by this establishment numerous times and thought to myself...hmmm, I should try that place...Well, finally I did and I'm sharing my experience with my fellow Yelpers! First, I called and they do take phone orders. I opted for the French Burger and large fries. It did not disapoint! It was a good size burger and the veggies were fresh. I love the red onions too! I took my 16 year old grandson for lunch today at his request. He'd been dreaming about the chicken tenders he had there his first time, because they were so good! This time we sat down inside, (too hot out). We ordered the Chicken Tenders, Double Cheeseburger with Fries, and Super Nachos for him, I had the Super Hotdog and a Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake. Such a HUGE menu, it was hard to decide! His favorite was the Super Nachos. Fresh chips with really good homemade taco meat (similar to how grandma makes it), taco sauce, nacho cheese sauce and sour cream in a separate cup, (no tomato for him). Very, very good! The cheeseburger was great, chicken tenders were as good as he remembered. The Ranch for the Tenders is more of a dipping sauce, thick and yummy. My hotdog was excellent. I like how they split the hotdog and grill it, to give it that crispy edges touch. I added cheese to mine. Would have liked grated cheddar, but the sliced American was good too. The crinkle fries were very good, just the way he likes them. My absolute favorite, was my yummy Chocolate and Peanut Butter combo Shake! Next time I'm going to try the Hot Pastrami Sandwich for sure! Our order came fast! Cooked exactly as we wanted it, nothing was pre-cooked, all cooked to order. Super friendly staff, greeted us when we came in and chatted while we ate since there wasn't anyone else inside. Most people order through the drive through. Even when I come through the drive up, they've always been pretty fast. All in all, this is one of Rancho's hidden gems. We decided to try Bowinkle's because we are from SoCal, and it's been difficult to find delicious hot pastrami here in Sacramento. The places we've tried in the past cut it thick and serve it with mayo and lettuce and tomato. Um. No. Bowinkle's makes a great hot pastrami like we are used to! Yay! There weren't any photos of this sandwich, so I posted mine so others can see its deliciousness. We tried the hot pastrami, the onion rings, the double cheeseburger, the crinkle fries and we washed it all down with a blackberry shake and a pineapple-banana shake. Their hot pastrami is legit. It's thinly sliced, grilled and nestled in a toasted, soft (but not too soft) French roll. They dress it with melted Swiss, mustard and pickles. Now THAT is how hot pastrami should be done. I really liked that it wasn't huge. It was just right. People with bigger appetites might want to order two. The bread and bun were both really good. They're lightly toasted on the grill. My husband had the double cheeseburger with no tomato. We received it as ordered. He liked it, but he said it could have been a little juicier (which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). The meat was well done. Loved the crinkle fries. They were crispy on the outside and potatoey and delicious on the inside. I liked them better than standard crinkle fries. The onion rings are made with chopped onion blended into a batter and fried. Loved the flavor, oil was fresh, and we both enjoyed the perfect crunchiness they had. They came with a small container of ranch that I really liked, and I'm not a big fan of ranch. It was thick, almost like Greek yogurt or sour cream. Really good with the onion rings. I loved my banana-pineapple shake. It was fruity with little chunks that were small enough to not clog the straw but big enough that I could nibble on them. My husband's blackberry shake was good, but he was hoping for a more intense blackberry flavor. That said, service was friendly and quick! I just dropped Door Dash from this order as Bowinkles & DD can't get their crap together. I watched as the driver was there, went past our house to Arden then back to Bowinkles to get our order and deliver it. See, it was sitting under the "heat lamps" for 45+ minutes.
