Bowl Mami was a nice, unexpected find in Carrollton! This morning I woke up craving an Açaí bowl. My boyfriend did a quick search and found Bowl Mami just a few miles away. It had good reviews, so we decided to give it a shot! Bowl Mami had plenty of parking, very friendly staff who gave us all kinds of recommendations, and cute inner decor. We were going to take our food to go, but everything was so cute and everyone was so welcoming that we decided to sit and eat inside. I ordered the Mami Bowl which was FANTASTIC! Unsweetened açaí, strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and granola sweetened with a little agave - yum, yum, yum! No wonder it is one of their most popular dishes. I also shared the Sugar, Spice, and Everything Nice avocado toast with my boyfriend. It was recommended to us by the girl working the counter; she said it was her favorite, and I was not disappointed! Loads of fresh avocado on sourdough bread seasoned with everything bagel seasoning, red pepper flakes, and agave. The perfect combination of sweet and spicy! I would definitely order this again. It was jammed packed full of flavor and the sweetness was sudtle and not to over powering. I got the Scarlet Begonia was really good. I've been to Bowl Mami atleast 5-6 times now. I've tried multiple different menu items, and as someone who adores smoothies and bowls, I have not liked anything I've ordered here. And I'm someone who can chug wheatgrass/ginger juice! (So this is not related to there being potentially less sugar here.) There just is no flavor to any smoothie here at all. I'm leaving this review due to my recent "final straw" experience. Yesterday I decided to come here for a quick healthy breakfast before work, so I arrived around 8:08am so that I had enough time to make it to work that began at 9am. I ordered a smoothie and toast, but there were tech issues with the tablet software and so my order wasn't able to be "taken" for about ten minutes later. I waited at the front while the staff member called the owner. While this initially didn't bother me, I began to grow impatient due to my further experience. My order wasn't put in til probably 10 minutes after arriving, and the order itself wasn't started until another 5-10 minutes after that. From my perspective, being a longterm manager, and working at a restaurant, my order should have at least been put in verbally even if the computer wasn't working. I was very shocked of the delay because there was no one in the cafe or any orders being made. I was dressed for work and obviously ready to go. A woman walked in at this time and placed an order. I still waited and it became 8:30am. My workplace is 25 minutes away. The woman who came in received her order before me and within 5 minutes! I was shocked. Especially because she ordered 2 items just as I had. I had been there for a long time at this point just for a piece of toast and the small sized smoothie. I didn't receive my order until 8:38am. 30 minutes after I arrived. I finally get my smoothie and the green straw cracks and breaks fully down the middle so I can't even drink it. Please get rid of these cheap straws!! Every time I've come here the straw breaks and is sharp that it could cut your tongue! I arrived at work late unfortunately due to the delay. My coworker had a straw in her purse so I was able to actually drink the smoothie. Unfortunately it did not taste good, like all of my other past experiences with smoothies here. Luckily The toast was better than the smoothie! But it tastes more on the oily side. I left this review so that the owner could potentially hear some realistic feedback, because I don't see any other bad reviews of this place and I'm very confused. I haven't had any good food experiences here whatsoever and have had to wait very long every single time even while always empty. This is the closest smoothie shop by my house and it is unfortunate I will have to drive further to visit the other options in the area now. But literally anywhere else has tastier healthy food. I recommend "The Juice Bar", "Vitality Bowls" "The Original Chop Shop", and "Juice Land" over here. read more

I had the pleasure of trying this local biz while on this side of town this week. The manager, Sheena (I hope I spelled that right), was so kind and personable. I had no idea what kind of smoothie I was in the mood for and she told me to just trust her. A couple of minutes later, she arrived with a beautiful dragon fruit smoothie with loads of different berries and fruits! It was delicious! Highly recommend! I'm also a huge fan of the decor inside of the shop! Warm, bright lighting, and eclectic pieces of art hung on the wall. It was a treat to visit. Also, the shop looks small from the outside but there is plenty of seating inside and outside. I ordered the Mami Bowl (acai, strawberry, banana blend topped with strawberry, blueberry, banana) but I substituted the banana for mango.
