Saying that this place is awesome, is an understatement! We stopped for drinks while camping at a local campground and found this lil gem. We sat in the outdoor seating area due to having our dog, Gypsy, with us. The owner came out and greeted us as did his daughter. This family owned brewery not only offers great beer but fantastic service and hospitality! We ordered the Bavarian-Style Soft Pretzels with spicy mustard and beer cheese that was sooooo delicious that we ordered another. Our food and drinks came out quickly and the server checked on us regularly. We will definately be returning and HIGHLY reccommend this place! read more

Nice little place! Came in on a Friday night and sampled a few drinks with our dinner. Live music made for a pleasant atmosphere. There's a variety of beers and ciders available, including some sodas and lemonade. I tried a variety of fall offerings and they were all okay, nothing to write home about. There was a Belgian-style beer and a mango cider that were probably my favorites. The food was pretty decent. They have Beyond Burgers (to the delight of vegetarian Child #1) as well as regular beef burgers. My wife got a Smokehouse Burger which was really tasty. I got a cheesesteak which didn't blow me away, but was decent enough. We all split some pickle spears and pretzel appetizers. Again, not too bad. The Spicy Smokehouse dipping sauce that came with the pickles was delicious! There's plenty of seating in the main room with the live music, as well as seats upstairs. We opted to sit in the anteroom that connects with the coffee shop. It had several tables, as well as a little area for kids to play - they even provided some toys and books and it kept Child #2 entertained after he wolfed down his dinner. There are old movie posters from the Box Office's old days that add a little charm and nostalgia. Pro Tip - cash is king! They gave a small discount for paying in cash (i.e. didn't pass on the surcharge for paying by card). Maybe I'm just a Yankee not used to southern hospitality, but I was blown away by how friendly not only the staff were, but also the other diners. This was a brewery where they served food to go with their abundance of beer. For someone that doesn't drink but wanted something good to eat it was a decent spot to choose. Tucked back behind a coffees shop it's a seat yourself, order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to you. Only canned and bottled beverages other than the alcohol which was a little disappointing though not surprising. Two in the party got cheesesteaks which looked tasty though the fries looked overcooked. One person got a burger with sweet potato fries and both were good. Can't say either were stupendous but still a decent burger. The large BBQ nachos were a large plate of chips topped with a lot of BBQ, nacho cheese and the toppings but not enough BBQ sauce. Should have asked for more but I didn't want to sit and wait for it so I made do. Other than the fact that the chips weren't the fanciest it was a nice plate of food. The place was loud but I can see its appeal and for a little town in VA it's a nice place for a bite to eat on a Saturday afternoon. read more

Fantastic place! Our server was great, and the cook came out to talk to us when we ordered a Beyond Smashburger style. She told us the onions they use on the smashburger has beef bone broth in the marinade, so we asked not to have those. The burger was great, but even a thin slice of fresh onion with a couple drops of hot sauce would have taken it to another level of awesomeness. We loved the fries and previously decided not to ask if their fryer was dedicated to non-meat food. So, what we don't know LOL. The bathrooms were pristine, and the decor was super fun. I hope we pass through this way again and have time to return. We only discovered this place because our Harvest Host location was closed that Monday night, and so were many other alternatives. Stopped in for a quick drink and eats on a friday night. Sat at the bar. There was a band playing in back. Service was quick. Got a taster of beer and ordered a pint of their signsl knob IPA. Nice heavily hopped IPA without too much funk. Decided to get wings to go with the beer and ordered 6 buffalo and 6 dry rub. By the time wings came out was ready for another beer and swirched up to blonde ale that was refreshing but still had some body. Dig into the wings. Unfortunately the dry rub consited mainly of brown sugar. I am a salt over sweet guy so proceeded to scrape off as much as i could and dip in some of the extra buffalo sauce. The buffalo wings were good with a decent smoke char. (Wings are smoked not fried which i like). Overall I give it a 4. 4.5 to 5 for service, beer selection and buffalo wings but a 2 for "dry" rub wings. Maybe advertise as sugar rubbed instead. read more

Loved this spot! We stopped in on a Friday afternoon and there was tons of seating! They have a small outdoor area that faces the parking lot and was in the shade. We opted to sit inside which was large and open. I ordered a flights of 3 beers and I loved their Pilsner the best. We also got the wings which were fantastic. I liked the honey BbQ more than the Buffalo but both were great. They looked to be the best item on the menu. The bartender and waitress were both sweet and accommodating. We also tried route 11 chips since we are from out of town and they had bags for purchase. Overall, great casual stop! Definitely try the wings! read more

I had a wedding nearby and travelled from out of state. I came in a day earlier so I was looking for places to go and found this place. It's a divey looking brewery that used to be a movie theater hence the name. They had a good selection of beer that is made in house and their smoked chicken wings were delicious. Things were on and off today, but the service was tight. Walked in looking for a Marzen draft. The web site showed a picture of it, but I was told it would be on tap tomorrow, according to the release. The bartender said something like, "Blah Blah Blah, come back tomorrow." But all in a great tone. (Did I mention their service was spot on, let me add knowledgeable to it.) But as always none of that is part of the review. I believe those readers aren't there when I get bad service so giving a low review makes no sense. But then again giving a great review on incredible service is the same thing, so the rating is on food and drinks only! The ambiance/decor was nice, nothing to write home about, but indeed clean and roomy. So the "off" was the first plate they put in front of us. We ordered the Full Nachos, dammit they came out cold with stale chips. I called the server, who took the large plate back and brought another. Unfortunately this plate's pulled pork was luke warm and the cheese was not much hotter. Sad, we went that far, but we were hungry and driving and could not wait nor drink too much more, so we devoured paid and left. For the Nachos, I would offer a 2 star, but the beer saved the day. For the drafts: The Massanutty Brown Ale did a nice job for me. I enjoyed the sip and knew this was the reason I came. If you are a brewery type, give it a try, the brewery choices will bring you back. I believe they had about 12 beers on tap , 4 ciders and I only counted 3 IPAs. I mean I saw wheats, Vienna lager, helles, a Nut Brown, a porter, I mean if they had Cask Conditioned I would have rented a motel room close by. For me, this means the beer, with the few samples I had, was a 4 star. I will go back to test the Vienna Lager, which had a mild but intriguing taste, and the Marzen, which should be on tap soon and may make it a 5star! Missus and I were heading back to our little slice of heaven and decided to stop for a beer at this joint near where I-81 and I-66 meet. Glad we did. In an old converted movie theater, it boasts a motion picture theme and has old 1930s movie posters on the walls. Good vibe and aesthetic. Beer's good. Got a five-beer flight sampler ($14) and really enjoyed the stout, the citrus wheat ale and the coconut porter. Food was perfectly decent bar food - we each got half a dozen wings ($9 for six) and a small side salad. Conundrum - thought I asked for boneless wings (got bone-in) and a small salad (got large). Maybe I wasn't clear? Maybe I screwed up? So not judging negatively regarding. My tip - always be clear when ordering. The beer here is excellent and most are pretty strong. My only complaints are that they don't rotate in new beers and there's maybe a 30% chance that their canned beer is flat. That's happened more times than it should've. Anyway, I think they've been open for 3 years or so now and they haven't rotated in a single new beer that I know of. The food is mediocre except for the smoked wings. Those are really good! Their blue cheese dressing is very tasty. Granted, I haven't had many of their food items so maybe I'm missing some gem. The only other thing I don't like is that everything is ordered at the bar. Food and drinks. This can cause a line to form but it usually goes pretty quickly. There is a large parking area behind the brewery.. not on the main street. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a large selection of beers to try! We did a tasting which is good. I reluctantly came back to the Box Office after several years of being away. This time I returned with my wife and two daughters. It was good to see the brewery was still in business and looked to be doing okay. However, sadly, not much has changed since my last review. It's still a horribly run restaurant that probably would have been forced to closed it's doors if there was any real competition in town at all. On this visit, I couldn't help but notice the signs with rules on them were still everywhere! I think they are actually more now. The worst part of this recent visit was the food and service. The pizza was cold, the fried pickles were cold, the French fries were cold, and the burgers were not only cold, but the bacon was hard and the buns were crunchy. We watched our food just sitting on the kitchen's shelf for about 10-15 minutes. They weren't busy, so we knew it was our order. No wonder everything was cold! If you're going to let food sit before serving, maybe invest in some food warmers?? Also, we had to ask three times for salad dressing. The salad dressing and wing dips were in a little mini fridge next to the self-serve utensils, water, and other similar items, but dips were off-limits to all, but servers. I visited Box Office Brewery recently for an ale tasting! Another solid entrant into the Northern Virginia craft brewing wars! Yes, I know, it's a bit of a stretch to include Strasburg, VA in the term "Northern Virginia" but it's close! I sat at the bar on a lazy Sunday afternoon - and did a tasting flight of 5 ales (they have more than 5 brews). Old Valley Pike APA (7.6% ABV) (4.25 stars on Untappd) Signal Knob IPA (8.5% ABV) (4.25 stars on Untappd) Massanutty Brown Ale (5.5% ABV) (4.75 stars on Untappd) Goldie Blonde Ale (5.8% ABV) (3.5 stars on Untappd) What the Helles Lager (5.25% ABV) (3.25 stars on Untappd) My favorites were the Old Valley Pike APA and the Signal Knob IPA. I was also surprised at how much I enjoyed their Massanutty Brown Ale - as brown ales in general typically don't impress me. This one did - it was earthy, complex, and delicious! I also ordered some food while here - I started off with the fried dill pickles - which were well executed and delicious! The batter did not fall off the pickles - and the spicy dipping sauce was yummy! I was still hungry, so I ordered the Chorizo Nachos - man was that a lot of food! I could not eat the whole thing! Beware - the Nachos may be a dish worth sharing with 2-3 people! There is a ton of seating here - and a stage area in the back for musicians! We came to the brewery for my sisters bachelorette and the experience was excellent. They were accommodating to our large party and the owner Tom stopped by, which really added a personal touch. Edwin was our server and bartender, he is very attentive and kind. All of the other staff was great as well. Customer service does not fall short here! Wow, what a fun place! I've been here twice now and it was delightful both times! The inside is cool, but we didn't linger long for COVID reasons. We opted to sit outdoors behind the brewery. They have tables and umbrellas back there. I followed my fellow Yelpers' advice and got the brown ale. Best decision ever! They also do growler fills, so we brought some of the Helles to go. The food is also great! The Cuban sandwich was SO SO good but it was also huge--I ate half for lunch the next day. The Bavarian pretzel was good, too--even my 2 year old thought so! We had a fantastic time hanging out at this brewery! The bartenders were fun to talk to and had real excitement over the beers. I talked with them and the owner about some of the future pours they will have, and y'all should definitely come visit soon! (I won't spoil any surprises, but if you like porters you're in luck!!!!) I used their flights to taste several beers and ciders and was impressed with everything across the board. I walked out with my growler filled with cider. Everything was very fairly priced; beers around $5-6 and growlers around $18-20. The food was incredible! Fried pickles, arugula pizza, Bavarian soft pretzel, you name it. They were all excellent! On our way north randomly decided to stop and give this place a go. We came in from the street entrance, which is a little confusing. My husband had the Irish red dawn which he liked. Smoked Chicken wings were good, my husband prefers "saucey" wings so if your like him ask for a side of the sauce to dip in. I'm had the kids choke fingers which were also good. It's interesting sitting right next to the brewing equipment ( and was a little hoppy smelling, if you like it you'll love it, if not you might want to sit outside), no servers you put your order in at the bar. I do need to complain a little about not having fountain soda, I'm not a beer drinker but enjoy going while the hubs try's them all, but having to pay for each can of soda means we don't hang out as long, but that's just us. read more

Got there as it opened ordered a flight and some snacks. The craft beer was fresh and varied. Ordered a flight and ended with the local Pottown Cream Ale. It was super smooth and very appealing to my palate. The menu is made up primary bar food. The pretzels were hot and soft. The smashed mini cheeseburger and fries excellent from the Youngins menu. We enjoyed the chicken tenders also. The quesadilla is loaded with chicken bbq and bacon. We sat outside with the pups. It's order at the bar and the servers bring you the food. Great wings and atmosphere! We were fortunate finding this gem when we pulled off the interstate for a lunch break.

Food was simple fair. The BBQ quesadilla was different. I personally prefer a Tex-Mex spin. Beer offerings were plentiful and delicious.
