If you happen to be in the area and want to just let your shoulder drop from the stress, come here! The DJ is very sweet and plays songs that you requested and the bartender knows how to keep the patrons happy. Amazing mix of crowd , and very welcoming to everyone. Since I tend to favor gay dive bars, I try to stop by whenever I'm in Barcelona. I like sitting on a barstool, chatting and checking out who comes in. The G&T come in huge goblets. It was clearly a bad weekend in Spain: there was nothing to which one might want to cast a wandering eye. The staff is efficient-ish. We stood next to a handsome Colombia -- clearly having a good time & "feeling no pain" -- who politely asked for another drink. The young Latino bartender made (what I would call) the "did you just fart" face and stormed off. Okay, personality clashes do happen. When my friends politely (who speak Spanish & heard the exchange "attempted to correct the situation" the two bartenders who they spoke to just shrugged and walked away. Massive fail, NB. I am not expert in these matter-- by a long shot -- and if you are looking for a night in the dark (read between the lines) with decent music and don't care who or what you are looking at, NB might be for you. Of course I couldn't get my jacket bc my claim ticket was in my wallet. However, I had a photocopy of my passport in my jacket and it was in clear sight, but the smug coat check boy refused to look at in and insisted i stay until close at 6am. Somebody else, possibly a manager, came to seemingly help but the coat check guy continued to be unhelpful and seemed to be taking pleasure in my frustration. Finally after I waited several hours, my jacket was returned to me, and I as a left a guy runs up to me and says "you forgot your wallet." Of course it had all the cash missing. Both times I went to this club on my trip it was mostly empty. The first time I didn't mind because I was with a friend and the two of us enjoyed dancing without the club being packed. However, after the way this situation was handled, it would be challenging to go back. Pickpockets are everywhere but it certainly doesn't make me feel safe. Mostly though, no staff in the hospitality industry should take so much pleasure in being so unhelpful, particularly when a frustrating situation is clearly ruining a guests night.

The decor is fabulously unique for a gay place, packed full of Catholic iconography, Virgin Mary, Christ and crucifixes. The bartenders have all been friendly and welcoming, one even remembering me and my call drink from visits in past years. I've found many of the local customers here are generally friendly and open to tourists. The G&T are huge goblets! As typical in Europe, tonic water is its own bottle so you get to pour and mix to your liking. Much better than US soda fountain sprays that many times are flat of carbonation. Like the rest of Spain, the bar is basically cashless and it is quite easy to use your credit card or phone digital wallet. The tiny restroom has a trough with hands free flushing and stainless steel reflection. No peeking, haha.
