Paxton Boyd owns Boyd Construction, which he claims is "licensed and insured". The State of Iowa does not have a license for him (though if he makes more than $2000/year he is required to be licensed with them - I've already paid him well over that amount) and the city of Keokuk says they don't license businesses. This now makes me doubt he is insured though he had assured me before I hired him that he was. He damaged my house by dropping 3 trees on the roof while cutting them down and has failed to return to repair the damage. He damaged my stone wall and after repeated requests to come fix it, never has. When power-washing the house he sprayed water over the electrical cords that were powering his cherry picker and almost caught the house on fire - anything plugged in was fried (brand new fridge and coffee maker are now inoperable), electrical cords were melting and according to an electrical inspector he fried the wiring INSIDE the walls in more than 90% of the wiring in the house (I'm down to only 2 working outlets). He shows up hours late or not at all. A project that should only take 2-6 days will end up taking MONTHS and still not be completed. WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HIM!! Buyer beware!! He will DESTROY your home and not take any accountability nor give you his insurance information. read more
