This…read moreis a convenience store with high end items at supermarket prices and a traditional gas station with all that that implies. The uniformed staff are delightful. They not only anxious to please, but go out of their way to do the extra things such as directions on their on mobiles; how rare! Free ATM, liquor, wine, Lochmuir smoked salmon, magazines galore, flower shop. The U.S. Needs to study this concept of service a bit. They were called "service stations" in days of yore but nomore, nomore.

It's on my route down from Kensington to Brighton via the A3 and the A24 (scenic route) or M25/M23 (fast route), and is the last petrol station before the M25. Petrol prices are not as competitive as supermarket service stations, but this one is just so conveniently located, and doesn't suffer from excessive queues. It's one of BP's 'Connect' brand of service stations, so as well as offering petrol, diesel, water and air, it also has a sizeable shop, selling the usual confectionery, sandwiches, snacks and drinks, newspapers and magazines, basic motoring supplies, and all with a 'Wild Bean Cafe' franchise, too. (It's not much of a cafe - just a counter, actually). There are customer toilets, as well - essential on a motorbike, as you can't cross your legs to the next stop
