Well, actually it is, because it's full of cool stuff. Think gift shop + art shop + boutique curio, and maybe that *starts* to describe the space. There are plenty of keepsakes, art supplies, and gift ideas that will run your tab up very quickly. It's all good stuff, mind you, but it's almost like they should have an "I'll take one of everything package". The front of the store is mostly boutique-ish and has a small up and downstairs. You can find gifts for just about anyone, and this is the kind of place where you can stuff stockings or get something unique for that special someone. If you need ideas, then ask one of the staff who are always willing to help. If you need specifics in the art department, then there is a station in the back to help you with various items such as paper types or other supplies. The unique nature of some of the items leads to perhaps some higher prices, but the value is spot on. You're finding gifts, not clipping coupons, so enjoy and shop a little. For everything that you think might be marked a little high, just remind yourself that you probably aren't going to find that in very many other places. And that's the fun of shopping: just browsing when you have the time and maybe the resources, looking at things that you didn't know you were going to find, and in this case, helping a great small business thrive.

The candles are more than likely either locally made or you are in fact, supporting a non-corporate spot so you will pay a bit ore for several things. Sure, you can take your butt to Target and buy a birthday card for $3.99 or you can come here and spend $6 for a REALLY awesome and unique card. I guess it's all about perspective. The staff is simply okay here. Never a warm feeling like other stores on Mass but I do stop in about once a month.

I was all set to make a big purchase until I turned into a ghost. The young lady at the front desk was not on her phone but she was on her computer. She never looked at me. I walked right in front of her and type, type, type. Casper, I tell ya. No one greeted me, no one offered help, no one even knew I was in the store. Type, type, type. I looked at the items in my bag and I decided not to purchase anything at this store. They made me feel uncomfortable and not valued as a customer. I could not believe there was not one word spoken to me. How difficult would it have been to give me a kind "Hello!"? Well, apparently, that is too much to ask from this store. As a customer I had to make an effort to drive downtown from south Lawrence, fight for a parking space, pay for parking just to browse this store. The very least I should have received was a welcome. Perhaps a stationary and printing store in a high rent area already has enough customers and they don't need my money. I would think they would need all the customers they can get in their location. I will not be back despite the cool things they had in the store.

Even though it's old and local there are some very cool things in this store. Weavers has a wide selection of many different items- clothing, makeup, shoes, home goods, luggage. From the street it doesn't look that large but it's huge inside. So much packed in this store. I always love coming here because it's the kind of store that makes you feel special. There is a personalized touch to this store and they get to know you by name. The only drawback is the parking situation and it's not Weavers fault. Parking in downtown Lawrence should be an Olympic event. However, to get the reward of going to Weavers, you gotta brave the parking downtown. The prices are very reasonable and the merchandise is very contemporary. There's something for everyone at Weavers.
