Told the receptionist that I had an infected ingrown toenail and she quickly understood my pain and told me to be there by 3pm. Was quickly brought in and Dr. Nubar Ornekian, DPM immediately knew what to do for my specific and very severe case. He cut one-third of the affected toenail, excised the granular tissue, and debrided the wound. 10 minutes for a local anesthetic, 10 min for the procedure, 10 min to coagulate and bandage. Post-op instructions were easy enough, received a prescription for a round of antibiotics, and told to manage pain with NSAIDS. His bedside manner is great and very much has a wealth of expertise in his +30 years in the specialty. I would not hesitate to refer him to anybody else if you're lucky to snag an appointment. For context, I had been calling around for 1 hour and was lucky to have found him. When I called Urgent Care they said they do not have a specialist who would be able to help me in my situation, especially since I had already started antibiotics. When I called Huntington Hospital they said depending on the assessment of my toe I might be referred out for a outpatient surgery with a podiatrist. So happy to have found this clinic on Google Maps as most Pasadena clinics were booked out for at least 6 weeks, out on maternity/ paternity leave, etc. He is speedy, efficient, genuine, sincere, competent, and left me feeling confident in my post-op recovery. Very thankful for him and the pain relief he has provided me.

The story's moral is to be vigilant, check your toes regularly, and pay attention to where you get your pedicures done. Dr. Trezia mentioned that there is a possibility my toenail could grow back (fingers crossed!). Did you know a toenail takes 12 to 18 months to regrow fully? The office was overall lovely staff. I was done in under 30 minutes. Parking costs 2.00 per hour. I will not be taking the oral medication - we are going with a topic cream and possibly laser treatments.
