I initially came by to address my check engine light but I had also been dealing with a broken for almost a year now. Since I have a baby on the way and I'm new to the Arizona heat, I knew I would need to get that fixed by any means. Being pregnant, I'm not working right now, I'm on a fixed income so I was really banking on the fact that brake masters offer payment plans! I didn't get approved for any of the plans unfortunately but thankfully the staff are amazing at what they do because they were able to identify that the issue with the engine related to the AC issue so it was a 2 in 1 fix! I spent money at other shops replacing AC parts and not one shop caught that diagnosis. Basically, they fixed my both problems for no additional charge and I'm so grateful. They will also be doing a free follow up the week after to make sure everything is working accordingly. Definitely world class service and brake masters has my business . Went in and agreed to the oil change special. The ad on the desk said 74 for up to 5 quarts. He then told me he had a 30 off coupon to bring the price down. I agreed and they did the oil change. Once done he brought up the bill and it was 110. I reminded him of the coupon and the price on there own ad and he said well you needed 2 quarts extra oil. No matter what I said he kept adding up 7 quarts of oil to be 140 and then took off 30. Never made sense. I called the corporate office in Tucson twice and they never returned the call. I guess stealing from customers is fine with the corporate office. I won't be back to Brake Masters again and I am also going to file a BBB complaint. Terrible company. read more

Horrible experience at this location I came in to get a tuneup, a flush and a few other things. Immediately after leaving my truck started having issues and then when I try to bring it back in to see what was going on, they tried to give me another bill.. I took my Jeep in for oil change. They returned my jeep saying window was busted PROIR to arrival to facility. Well it wasnt and I had just gotten 4 new tires at next door and window was fine! I will stick with Jeep dealership from now on! Also, I was told 3 different stories- window was up on arrival, window was half down on arrival and window was completely down and broken when they got in. Beware! Went in for an oil change that was scheduled. 1.5 hours after I get a text with a link saying I neeed a bunch of stuff fixed and my bill would be $1,300. I got no phone call about this invoice until another 45mins after. Even then he could not properly explain to me what was wrong and why it would be that much. When I told him to just change my oil and I'll get a second opinion on the rest he started to speak to me very short and with an attitude. It felt like he was trying to take advantage of me because I'm a young woman and got pissed when I wasn't having it. I went for a oil change, on my break from work. I come back get my car park it at my work location that is not even 2 min from this break masters. I get off of work, begin to drive home and my engine starts smoking. I made it home parked and looked inside the hood. There was oil everywhere on the engine and the o ring is just sitting there in the engine bay, not in its place. Pulled out the dip stick and there was no oil in my car. The service was terrible! I got my alignment done here around 2 weeks ago and I don't drive this vehicle often. I noticed me vehicle was pulling to the right so I figured I would get it checked out. They said they checked it and all was good. On my way home it was pulling even worse! I took it back and they gave me so many excuses about why it is pulling and blaming it on a brake caliper that was also done at brake master! After I showed them the paperwork they said oh yea it's not because of that it's because your tires need to be balanced and the manager wouldn't even come talk to me again... I got my tires balanced and it still was pulling. I'm so irritated I am going to a different shop to get my alignment done this store is a waist of time and money! read more

After posting a negative review for the Brake Masters in Mesa on Superstition Springs, I gave the one out here in Buckeye on Watson Rd. a shot. Obviously, based on my 5 star rating they redeemed their reputation with me. They are honest here and have not tried to upsell me on what was not necessary. Prices are lower than most. You tell them what you need, and they deliver. And this location is popular, and can become busy quickly. The sooner you arrive the better. Weekends are the busiest, make an appointment and stick to the time, and they will help you out. Butch puts your mind at ease, unfortunately I heard he is moving to 55th Avenue and Bell location to get that store up to par as well. You can't go wrong here, and just make sure you have a ride to return at a later time, or are willing to wait as long as needed. read more

I went there to get an oil change done but a month later my oil light and engine light when on. Long story short they forgot to put something back on and my car was slowly leaking oil over time. It got so bad that it almost blew my engine. Had to pay $300 just to get everything back on track and the worst part of it Brake Masters would not help me. I called them several times and talked to the manager to refund my money. They just left me hanging and would never call me back. I ended up just giving up. Went for an oil change and they messed up my car they purposely put a bad filter so I could leak oil ! When they finished my oil changed there was oil leaking when I told them before I left I was told it's not oil it's coolant And they overfilled it on purpose! However for a week straight I kept leaking everywhere I went! Including my driveway which is Stain! However one night I'm driving with my kids and my car starts smoking and out of no where it completely turns off ! I get it towed we almost crashed btw ! I took my car in for an oil change and a month later my oil light comes on. This is a car that doesn't get driven that often and in no way should the oil light be coming on now with less that 500 mile's driven. I checked the dipstick and it read no oil. So I don't know if they just didn't put enough oil in the car or did they even change the oil at all? I called Brake Masters on Watson and spoke to a Manager and I explained my problem, he was very apologetic and promised to fix the problem. I brought my car to be fixed and a worker Chris came to my car and as I was talking to the manager and closed the hood to my car and looked at me and said we are done in a rude manner several times. I held my composure and didn't knock the shit out of him and told the manager to check his employee. The manager took him aside and walked him away, I don't know what was said but I think I deserve an apology. The manager then told me that he would give me a full oil change at my convenience. Brad & George saved our lives. After some trouble with our wheels, we towed our truck to Brake Masters. They immediately realized our after-market rims (which were on the truck when we bought it) were installed without removing the spacers. The lug nuts kept loosening, one -Broke Off-, and we had one wheel actually come off a year ago. I came in to get my brakes taken care of and A/C. 3 times they called me and upped the price. It went from $1000 to $2000. They had my vehicle for 2 full days. I got into my vehicle, first thing I see, is oil all over my door handle, and side of my door near my speakers. Looked disgusting and very unprofessional. Next, i see my brake light on, on the dash. THEY GAVE ME MY VEHICLE BACK WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT ON. They told me it was like that when I came in, but it was NOT. Then they inform me that they didn't even fix my A/C problem. I came in because the A/C wouldn't turn on in the high setting. I get in my vehicle and the problem was not fixed. They told me they would reach out to me next week with the part, ..it's been close to a month and nobody has reached out to me. The air felt cold for about 10 days and is no longer cold. As I drive, the brakes have a horrible squeal sound that I never even had before I came here?! They said it should go away in 2,000 miles. Well, it's been a month and I still hear squealing. I'm scared to even bring my vehicle into this place again, as they will bill the heck out of me, and give me unprofessional service, and not fix the problem. I've been to this location on 3 different occasions and every encounter went much better than expected. I most recently returned to have my front brake pads and rotors replaced, brake fluid flushed, bearings packed, and had it all completed within 2 hours....no issues at all. The staff is friendly, honest, and work quickly to complete the job. Please do not take your car here and take it to a real mechanic. What was supposed to be a simple repair ended up to be several more repairs over several weeks (and not over yet) because the mechanics here do not know what they're doing. They do extremely shoddy work, "forget" to put things in, and damage other parts in the process of "fixing" your car. Manager is a real piece of work and told us to "go somewhere else" and flung papers at us. He laughed in our faces and thinks the trouble they have put me through is funny. I don't have the time nor the patience to keep coming back and leave my car there in hopes you'll finally fix it. I put my trust in you and I so deeply regret it. Is this really how you treat your customers? You expect me to take it somewhere else to fix all your mistakes instead of doing it the right way? How about training your employees to do a better job? They always get us in last minute & are super timely. And the price point is the best around. The place is nice the people are nicer. I normally do not leave reviews especially bad ones but feel the need to warn others of this place. We took our car here to get the brakes checked out. They informed us the master cylinder needed to be replaced for $700- we agreed. When we went to pick up our car they stated that while bleeding the lines another piece broke and it would now be $1200. They never informed us at the beginning that this could possibly break. We either had to pay $1200 to get our car back or $700 and get it towed since it was un-drivable without the new piece. We had to get an Uber and a rental car. After going back and worth they never accepted responsibility for their actions. We ended up signing over the title and never getting our car back. I would give zero stars if I could HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also spoke to the employees and customers at UPS across the street who have heard several bad reviews as well. Please beware! read more

Worst experience I've ever had with a automotive repair shop. I took my truck in for a brake fluid flush. I drove it home and everything seemed to be ok. It stayed parked for the weekend and when I got into it Monday morning to drive it. The brake pedal went to the floor. I pumped the pedal and got some pedal back so I took it back to have it looked at. Before looking at it, the manager began to tell me why it wasn't air in the line and started trying to up sell me. He refused to look at it and was upset that I had worked on it prior to the original visit. I changed the rotors and pads on my own but was unable to bleed on my own. That was the reason for my original visit. I didn't understand what my prior work had to do with their work other then them not being able to sell me the entire repair. If there would have been other repairs needed, they could have sold me the repai but they missed the opportunity by having an attitude and bad customer service. I have contested the charge due to an inferior repair. They are very unprofessional and apparently lack experience. This is one business that will never make another penny from me and I will tell everyone of my experience. Brake Master is a major failure in my opinion. read more
