Took my car in for a routine oil change. Told them when I dropped it off to not rotate the tires because the tires in the back are bigger than the front. Forgot to check when I picked it up and got home to realize they put the bigger tires on the front. Told me my battery would fail any day and wanted to charge me $180 for a new one. I change it myself with pro rated batteries from Autozone because they never make it 3yrs. Went to two different Autozones and they both said my battery was good. I wouldn't trust them with my vehicle again. read more

We were driving thru Phoenix from Las Vegas. We stopped for gas and lunch and noticed a very odd sound coming from a tire. We couldn't see any damage to any tire. Stopped in Brakes Plus to get it checked out. The guy took a ride with my husband and diagnosed a misaligned tire. When they got it in the shop they found that two bolts were missing from the brake caliper! Brakes were rubbing on the tire rim. Knowing we were on a cross country drive, they took it in right away and replaced the bolts and checked the other tires. Than goodness for these guys! We could have had a very bad outcome on the highway without them. To top it off, they did not charge us for the repair! read more

I am wondering if some of the great reviews of this place were written by employees, friends or family of Brakes Plus.... Plan on high pressure sales. Don't bother buying the "premium brakes". They want to sell you the ultra, or whatever they call them. I brought my "premium brakes" and they started pulsating quickly thereafter. They said that we need to change our driving habits. Sure they were under warranty, but because they had been installed over six months prior and I had to pay for the labor. (I was out of town for much of it and didn't put any miles on the vehicle).--They don't mention the fact that their great warranty doesn't cover the labor after six months when they sell them. I had to scrounge for the cash to pay the labor and the whole time the guy was trying to up sell me another type of brakes. Premium-Smeemium! Also, plan to spend some time there. Nobody gets out quickly, not even when they are just there for the advertised free brake check. read more

I wish I could remember the name of the gentleman who serviced me during my visit, but really, every man I spoke to was kind and helpful. It was affordable and manageable, especially with their discounts! I was able to have my brake pads replaced; as well as transmission, brake and synthetic oil flushes. Granted that much work is going to be costly, I saved at least $250 by going to Brakes Plus instead of my Honda dealership! I checked! Even when it was difficult on them to pick me back up from work at the end of the day, they figured it out and I appreciated it very much. Those guys work hard! I decided to leave my car for a tune up and they over charge when calling other places they offered the service for less then they do!! I called to ask if my car had been started to be worked on and hector said no once I told him that it was less else where for the repairs he gave me rude comments and hung up on me!! Horrible experience! Don't recommend bringing your vehicle if you wish to have it fixed correctly the first time. Had to bring my truck for an A/C issue three times and they couldn't fix it! Had to argue with the store manager in order to get my money back. He finally agreed if I never came back! What kind of customer service is that? Had to leave work early in three different occasions to make the appointment in time and it was as if I was in the wrong. Never coming back or recommending this place anyone. read more

For starters, we went to Brakes Plus in Avondale for our sons Ford Fusion because it was shaking and squeaking when applying brakes. We also asked for alignment, an oil change & tire rotation package. After the inspection, they call and say the car has two bad control arms front and rear. So they do a fine repair job on the control arms and other mentioned items. However when I ask about the brakes they say they are fine with the brake pads at a 7" width. Did they test drive the car? Hell no they didn't! Turns out my sons vehicle had warped front rotors. How can you miss that if you call yourself brakes plus more like brakes what happened? I'm happy they made part of my sons vehicle safe but they fell short in completing the job and a safe vehicle with no shaking when stopping. Cmon man! read more
