With his recommendation, I went with Zatte which is a Belgian Tripel...very good so I had 2 LOL! Burger options were solid but my boy Neil told me that Wagyu was the way to go...I took his advice! The cool thing about this place is that you can build your own burger so old Amsterdam cheese, onions, lettuce, avocado and truffle mayo was added along with a side of fries. Burger was amazing and as good as most burgers I've had at home in Chicago and fries were very good. Solid space and great service along with delicious food makes this a very cool place. Well, tonight we tested out this aggressive statement to see if it was true or just a marketing scheme. The front of the Burger Bar was illuminated in big red bold letters and the giant wedge fries were proudly positioned in the window for customers to salivate over. We pondered the wall menu for a bit then ordered the Classic Burger with fries and a soft drink combo. The chef tossed a big beef patty onto the flat grill and waited at a wooden table out front impatiantly about fifteen minutes. OMG, it was big, juicy and spiced perfectly with bacon and caramelized onions (see pic). The oversized seasoned fries went well with the burger. I'm hoping that every burger joint in Amsterdam will be as tasty as this great find today.

This place absolutely saved my palate after weeks of deep-fried seafood (with mayo), fries (with mayo/peanut sauce and onion), and many hash joints. I still remember I got the nasi goreng and chicken sate, and they were absolutely godsends, especially after a long time of having the flavour I was not the biggest fan of (mayo). I remember I brought a kiwi with me for this meal, and the flavour also blew her mind as she hadn't had anything like this in her own adventure in the Netherlands. One would think, prices would be high like that of Amsterdam. The portions were big and good value. A lot of locals as well as tourists were here in this Witte de With establishment. I was pretty full after the meal. It was a pretty nice stroll down Witte de Withstraat back to City Hub.

In the end, the food is good but most of the time you'll end up having to go back inside (coming from the drive through) to fetch missing items which is a real bummer.

RPEL is a cool hipster joint that serves fries made from organic potatoes here in the city of Eindhoven in the southern part of the Netherlands. The vibe is cool and ambience is hip and casual. The Dutch people consider fries to be their main course, not an appetizer. Therefore places like this are quite packed during lunch and dinner times. RPEL also has gourmet dipping sauces to accompany your fries with such as mayo, Belgian mayo, BBQ, curry sauce, applesauce (a German thing) and their new citrus and truffle mayos. The citrus had the nice touch of actual lime zest sprinkled on it, and the truffle mayo was definitely delicious. They also have a variety of other friend foods to snack on. Yes. Yes I would definitely go back.
