It was very simple to use and so efficient. Within five minutes, I was in x-ray and the technician was attentive and courteous. Less than two minutes later I was in the room ready to be seen. When he moved to HCoL we followed (from Orthopedic Center for Sports Medicine). Dr Thomas Lyons is known for being one of the top sports orthopedic surgeon in New Orleans, and for good reason (his clientele list is impressive). His main focus is knees, elbows, shoulders and upper extremity). He is professional yet personable and extremely knowledgeable. So, if you need someone new or don't like the results you're getting. Please take the time, do yourself a favor, to go see him. He will help you. That said, you do not have to be involved in sports to go see this wonderful man. Dr. Lyons does not shame you about your weight. He doesn't embarrass you about your activity level. He wants you happy and he wants you healthy. His empathy for your pain / needs and his love of the human body and how it works is impressive. Of course, like all doctors they want to fit as well. However he will work with you at any level you are at. Dr. L is caring, thoughtful and he will listen to you. Be honest with him and you will satisfied with your results. He will give you clear concise information on how to go forward. Money is not his motivator. He is a man you can trust. More importantly, Dr T Lyons is a man I trust with my body / life, my husband and the health of my loved ones. Hand Center of Louisiana: Our experience in the last 2 years with this operation is top-notch too. The appointments run on time, They are a well-oiled machine. They process the paperwork like they're supposed to. Everything is good, safe , clean, friendly. I would say, your first time there, the "flow" is odd (because its new to you and the floor is split by elevator), so ASK the first person you see and they set you on the right course. I wouldn't expect Dr. L to be with some affiliated with a place that was not of his high standard. Which brings me to if you need surgery. TAKE the option go to the Omega Hospital (see my separate review). Even though it's probably out of network, they will work with you, and in some cases wipe your entire patient portion. It's a boutique, your partner has a quiet space to help you recover. It's small and the one on one from the RN and staff cannot be matched. They had me walking 30 minutes after surgery and I have not stopped since . (but YOU have to do the work too!) I promise to edit this review soon, but I've been wanting to write it for some time (over a year, wish I could blame covid, but just to busy 'cause my knee works!). Check back if you wish for read grammar corrections! Private message me if you have ANY questions. Heath is a serious issue. I fully understand and appreciate you taking the time to read this review and the fact you are considering your options. YOU SHOULD ... more folks should. Our personal situation: This review is long overdue! Dr L was delightful then and he is as he is today. To explain my situation with him . . . I first became aware of Dr Lyons and his fantastic bedside manner when a friend had a serious accident and needed surgery (1999?). He did an amazing job w/ ground meat and my friends is playing tennis, dancing etc today. In 2003-4 my husband (retired oilfield) was having neck shoulder issues, I told him there was only one guy I could recommend, Dr Thomas Lyons. Of course he did not disappoint. Since that time hubby has had shots and both knees cleaned out. Great experience all times. Since that time he has recommended Dr. L several times to co-workers, and he has yet to let them or us down! From 2008, I did knee (chicken shots), then "cleaned out", after years of bone on bone, and waiting until I moved back to Nola, Dr L performed my total knee replacement in 2020. It was perfectly done by Dr Lyons, and I haven't looked back since. Last week in Cancun I played volleyball all day, and danced all night. Giving Dr Lyons most of the credit. Husband went to see him for rotator cuff issues shoulder neck received a couple shots, after he met Dr Lyons working in the oilfield, he came a lot he highly recommended Dr Lyons to many people who ended up using him. All with very successful happy results. Through the years I've had friends tennis players, bike riders who need someone and I send them to Dr Lyons, I have referred him for decades. We have never heard, (I wouldn't even say a bad word) I haven't even heard less than stellar review of the man. You cannot go wrong with Dr Thomas Lyons.

I had emergency exploratory abdominal surgery (ruptured appendix) a few years ago which left me with a very large scar down my entire stomach. The ER doctors did not care how I was stitched back together, and the scarring was deep, jagged, recessed, and unsightly. I wanted the smallest size possible which is 120cc. Dr. Khoobehi insisted 220cc are the smallest implant. Obviously my breast size results were beyond a desired size. One breast was significantly lower than the other one. Plus the right one was "deformed". I understand they won't be perfectly symmetrical. However this was extreme in my option. At, at least two post-op appointments I was so upset with the results, I was hysterically crying. Dr. Khoobehi's response was, "well what does your husband think?". Dr. Khoobehi was very insensitive and dismissive. I had to have corrective surgery preformed by a different cosmetic surgeon. Her skills are phenomenal! If you would like to see pictures of my original results I will be happy to provide them!

Soooooo pre-katrina, the Ochsner "main campus" was but a mere consideration & most times NOT the choice of hospitals one decided upon... BUUUUTTTT NOOOOOW post-katrina, options are limited & Ochsner has a slight "monopoly" so to speak, in the world of New Orleans clinic/hospitals. So with that being the case, your choices are Ochsner or Ochsner or Ochsner, yeah. Post-Katrina, I have visited this facility more times than I care to mention, either with a relative or a friend. And this time is no different, I'm here with a relative. Review time: Entering the ER triage, we were immediately told to take the elevator to the 8th floor... No reference to which set of elevators... Guess me, my in active labor, aminotic sac ruptured preggo sis & her bestie have to figure it out... Ummm ok. Next we get to the area where she's "to be admitted" & no1 is there to greet us. Sooooo I pushed the "no admittance doors" and admitted, ha... Lol (classic me). So we fiiiind the nurse station... because there was no welcoming committee & then we're wheeled to yet another area. Upon arrival in the L&D triage area, "the correct place" (ER personnel sent us to the post delivery area, we needed pre delivery) we finally get some treatment & attention. She's admitted & we meet a myriad of people, some with great bedside manners & some not so great. Namely, Drs Moore, Pullman, Jordan & Super Nurses Brooke & Emma, ALL members of #teamoutstanding... and then the members of #teamNOTsogreat, well they shall remain nameless. I can honestly say the care, concern & patience shown to us by The L&D Staff, was phenomenal!!! If Alton Ochsner were alive, I'd give the ladies a shout-out & DEMAND a raise. The Ochsner monopoly, the find the elevators episode & the few not so nice L&D staff members, ehhhhh 3 stars it is. And only 3 because of L&D. A few other things to be noted: Southport cafe is all about healthy food choices Getting an appointment here is months out Navigating the hospital itself, is complex The whole Ochsner monopoly, I'm over it
