The staff were attentive, all spoke great English and were very informative. We tried the local seasonal wild garlic soup, anchovies on toast and a frankfurter the Austrian way (no knife or fork) just break it an smear it with mustard and shaved horseradish. A cappucino and a turkish coffee helped wash it down, 25 euros for lunch and great value for money. Small business at its very best.

Probably couldn't have been a nicer day, we were on a river cruise on the Danube. Stopped at a tiny village called Grein in the Austrian Wachau Valley. If not for the cruise we never would have happened on this gem of a town. Rather than eat on the ship we asked our tour director if there was a local restaurant she would recommend. So that's how we found La Vita. They had a menu so large that it would make a diner envious. I opted for pizza optioned with lots of extras. The pizza was probably 16"; way too much for me to finish and surprisingly good. It cost under 7 Euros. Around $7; probably would be double in the US. Local bier for 3.5 Euro completed the deal. Awesome!

I ordered the musaka which I had never had before. I was made with meat, mashed potatoes, mushrooms & eggplant. It was served w a side salad & herbed sour cream. Very tasty. I also decided on an appy with feta cheese, onion, tomato, cucumber& kalamata olives. It was very good & I thought the feta was excellent. So happy I tried new foods on our adventure & found this place in particular. Lovely country!
