Brandywine Coach Works is contracted with USAA. I have a 2011 Range Rover HSE and damaged my front bumper in a collision. The truck was fully operational, everything still worked, and I drove it for two weeks before any repair. I brought the truck into Brandywine for an initial estimate and Paul examined it. As an example, Paul showed me where the right headlamp bracket was damaged, but the left headlamp was fine. The initial estimate submitted to USAA was $4,307.02 before my $500 deductible. On the original estimate, replacement cost for the right headlamp damage was $900 (among other things). I dropped off my truck on 3/26. On 4/8, I got a text from Brandywine stating that the estimated date of completion was 5/2 - which was bad enough. However, the VERY NEXT DAY, 4/9, I got a text from USAA that my truck was deemed totaled. Paul was used as the 'appraiser' for my truck, then submitted a supplemental estimate that totaled $6,902.09. In the supplemental estimate, now BOTH the right and left headlamps were allegedly damaged, and the cost increased from $900 (on the original estimate for the right headlamp), to over $1,018.75 and the left headlamp estimate was $1021.25. It was no coincidence that the Brandywine appraised value for my truck was above the original estimate but now slightly below the supplemental estimate. To add insult, when I dropped the truck off, my key fob worked fine. Brandywine claimed that it didn't work and had their technical staff find a workaround. They damaged the start button and now the key doesn't work at all. I would never, ever recommend Brandywine Coach Works to anyone for any reason - they are only out to pad bills and make more money or total out your vehicle to sell or sell for parts. read more

I did decline to return but I do accept that this matter has been resolved. I hope the estimator will treat future customers with the respect they deserve. Original Review: I was so taken back by my poor experience with this company that I felt obligated to write a review of my experience. Before even putting eyes on my vehicle, each conversation started with, "what insurance are you going through?" Not a big deal on it's own. My brief experience with the estimator/salesman felt as though I was dealing with a commissioned salesperson. I don't know his name because he actually never greeted me and introduced himself. I'm fine going straight to business but a greeting takes minimum effort. I pointed out the damage and he states, "what insurance are you using because this will be well over $8,000. For reference, body shop #1 was $1,500 total. Body shop #2 was $2,000. I stated as much and he could not have cared less. I will never use this business and I will pass on the word to people I speak with. Even if the damage does warrant an insurance claim, the business should not be inflating costs and damages just because I only pay my deductible. I don't expect they will care to address this review or the glaring issues. There are many reputable shops in the area but this is not one. ZERO stars. read more

I took my car to Brandywine Coachworks on July 5th to get a bumper replaced for my Subaru that had been backed into. The Subaru dealership recommended them for bodywork. I wish they hadn't. What ensued was 3 weeks of no communication on their part, and repeatedly finding out that things had been sitting for days before being utilized. My bumper sat for days at Subaru and wasn't picked up until I called Subaru and found out, then called Brandywine Coachworks to inform them. My painted bumper was ready for days before I finally called to ask, and was told they were waiting for me to bring my car in. After I dropped my car off, it sat for 5 days, 3 of them business days, before they did anything besides wash it. Every step of the way, I was told I would receive calls notifying me of the progress. In reality, I received 2 calls from July 5th to July 28, when I picked up my car the first time (more on that in a moment). One was to tell me the estimate had almost tripled, and another to say my car was ready. In comparison, I ended up having to call them 30+ times over the same time period in order to get any information. Staying on top of Brandywine Coachworks became a part-time job. Within 30 minutes of picking up my car on the 28th, a sensor that had been replaced as part of the service stopped working. I picked up my car at 4pm and it was back in The Brandywine Coachworks parking lot to get repaired again by 6pm. The following day, I was told my car was ready at 10am. I organized a ride and called to let them know I was coming, only to be told I would have to be called back. After an hour waiting for yet another call that never came, I called again and was transferred to the GM. He informed me that the sensor had stopped working again and he didn't want to tell me because I "was already upset". After allowing the GM to explain his side of what happened with my car for 5 minutes without speaking, I started to share my experience including the 30 calls and the bumper sitting around. This was so he could understand that my frustration didn't come from a sensor malfunctioning, but rather the lack of communication I dealt with from his company for the last 3 weeks. I say started, because I spoke for less than a minute before he said, "I'm going to cut you off." Then proceeded to tell me that "the parts don't matter". I have two customer service tips for the GM: 1. The customer does not feel listened to when you don't listen to them. 2. You don't get to tell someone else what does and doesn't matter to them. You are not the only who had to made 30 calls to track the parts down. I appreciate the speed with which the final fix was completed on Friday 7/29. What I don't appreciate, is the way I was spoken to by the GM, or the 23 days of pulling teeth that came before it. All in all, the repairs appear to be lasting this time, but I will never use Brandywine Coachworks again. I would not recommend them to anyone, ever. read more

My daughter bought a 2006 Honda Accord that was previously in an accident requiring the front bumper to be repaired. She's owned the car for a few years now, but about a week ago the front bumper fell to the ground. Julian, at Brandywine Coach Works, listened to what happened and said he would fix the car no charge. They brought it in the shop and 25 minutes later the car was fixed with the right clips and an additional screw for extra support. Julian's customer service was top notch! We have used Brandywine Coach Works for years at my place of employment. They are professional and do an excellent job on every vehicle that we bring them. They have a great staff who gets us invoices fast and has a fast turn around time. I have also used them on a personal level back in 2011 when I had rear-ended another car. When I got my vehicle back it was cleaner and looked better than when it was first in a accident. They detailed my car inside and out and even tried their best to repair other damage on the vehicle that was not apart of the collision that it was there to be fixed for. I'm writing a delayed review because I just noticed a very serious overlook by this company. I was in a major accident in November and had my car repaired shortly after. My insurance company reported that this garage was especially difficult to deal with. There was a lot of back and forth between my insurance and this garage because my car had to be reassessed for damage, which took a lot longer than was necessary. At one point I had to get involved, which was inappropriate and unnecessary. Fast-forward to today as I was changing my air filters. My boyfriend and I lifted up my hood and noticed the hood bolts were never put back on! They were resting on a piece in the engine and my hood was held on by one bolt. The garage reported this as being a safety issue when the bolts came off from the crash damage, making my car unsafe to drive. Apparently my car has been unsafe to drive since December as they were never put back on! I have had no repairs since this crash meaning the last garage to open the hood was Brandywine Coach Works. Absolutely horrible oversight on their part. Would not recommend to anyone. If your insurance company suggests this body shop after a crash, look elsewhere! read more

First of all, I hate social media reviews and never write them. I also dislike seeing people air out complaints on these types of sites. I did not feel a 2.5 star average for this business was reflective of their ability so I figured I'd provide information about some good things that happened to me. During the hail storm, my Lexus, which I'd had for only 3 weeks, suffered extensive damage. Lexus of Chester Springs recommends this particular shop because they are exacting and yes, a major pain in the insurance companies' collective rear ends. Do you know why? Because they won't accept b.s. initial estimates and leave the car in less than perfect condition. It took a month until I got that car back - $20,000 worth of damage- you could not tell anything had ever happened. 4 happy years without a problem. In mid-December, I hit a deer. Yep. With my recently purchased Lexus. The insurance company gave me an estimate of $4491. Brandywine disassembled the front half of the car and sure enough, another TWELVE THOUSAND dollars worth of damage. So, out comes the insurance adjuster and writes the check. December was my inspection month and it's January. Chris is going to take my car up to Lexus for inspection before I get it back. Yes, it will take a month from start to finish. If you want work done right, you go to these guys and learn patience. If you want a body shop who is greatly loved by insurance companies- ask yourself why. Of course, it's my job as the customer to inspect the work and be sure that I am satisfied. If I choose not to test the radar, the headlights, or the other components that were smashed by the 6 pointer, when I pick up my car, then I am an unwise consumer. People are human beings and no one is perfect. I have had the benefit of their exacting work and am always happy with the outcome.....but I will still check the work. I highly recommend them. We brought my wife's vehicle here after a parking lot collision and they couldn't have been better to deal with. They had to renegotiate the repair with the at-fault party's insurance which was done quickly. The repair was finished quickly, perfectly (I mean absolutely perfect all around) and we were given updates almost daily. They even corrected some clear coat overspray on a trim piece from previous body work at a different facility. So the car literally looks better than it did when we brought it in. With top notch service and workmanship, they won a customer for life. Oh, and their facility and grounds are extremely well taken care of as well. Pride of ownership, I guess. I used this body shop when they were over in West Chester. A small Bobcat punctured a hole in the rear clip on my Benz while plowing the parking lot where I work. Took my vehicle there and they told me they replaced the rear clip and painted it. The match looked pretty good. However, when I approached the car to look at the work, my eyes naturally went straight to where the puncture would have been. They did not replace the clip they simply tried to fill the hole and did a poor job at that. I immediately saw a run in the paint right where the hole was. They had told me they replaced the clip and they billed me for it. Theyy lied, not much else to say. Obviously, I left the car there and insisted they replace and paint the clip as they said they would and already billed me for. read more

Repair completed October 10, 2013. My 2007 Lexus GS350 was rear ended. Bumper, bumper sensors, muffler and pipes, etc. were damaged. Repair was slightly over $3,000.00. I had an estimate at 3-D for approximately $1,300.00, but they didn't take the time to discover the additional underneath damage. My car was completed on time and in excellent condition. The workmanship was outstanding. The staff was engaging, professional, organized and well managed. I had one unforeseen issue, and when discovered, Steven Cantor promptly corrected the matter.
