Brandywine Liquor surprised me! We stopped here on the way to a concert at the amphitheater in Chula Vista because they were right on the way, and they had such good Yelp Reviews. I thought this would be an ordinary liquor store, but as I said I was surprised. They have the best beer selection I have ever seen in one place. Not just craft beer from the US that you may see at any well stocked store, but craft beers from other countries. They had such a large selection (all refrigerated) that it took us 30 minutes to pick out something for our little tailgating party before the Heart concert. They had some pretty interesting snacks also....but the beer! What tied it all up for us was the friendly customer service. One of the employees came out of the back refrigerator area to tell us about some of their different beers, where they were brewed and what to expect drinking the (other than intoxication). The guy at the register was all smiles and wanted to be sure we found what we wanted. I wish this place was closer to central San Diego - or even better closer to Poway. read more

My favorite liquor store in SD! I've been coming here for years. The staff is friendly & helpful. Here is where I come for new beers & my bottle of Patron every month (My Doctor said a shot of tequila before a greasy fatty meal helps clear the arteries, true story, my wife hates that excuse when I buy one but HA! It's Doctors orders!) Any-who their prices here are great. Not only do they have every known alcohol beverage & Tequila you've ever heard of & a lot more you never knew about, their prices are better then most if not all other places! If your lucky sometimes on weekends they got a couple girls inside in beach attire or skimpy clothes or lack of trying to sell certain bottles of Tequila & giving free samples. Just don't take your lady when they are there it's really awkward. They got good prices on snacks but who cares bout that. This place is known for their very big & variety of alcohol & Tequila & all the new alcohol that is made! So if you plan to get drunk & save money then this is the place for you. I follow this place on facebook to find out what new beers they have. Their beer selection always keeps me in the store way too long. I ended up talking to a gentleman who works there for quite sometime he was laughing at how excited I was reading all the different bottles. I found some really cool bottles of beers I want to try. I always leave with at least two bottles of goodness. Yes sometimes I do buy bottles just because they do have cool ass pictures. I love this little place. If you don't see what you want ask, they probably have it or are going to get it. read more

This place it totally legit. From liquor to sodas and chips to candy... this place pretty much covers all the necessary bases to be a successful liquor store. (Especially one so close to Sleep Train Amphitheater.) The prices are actually quite decent and the service is better than most. Though the store is small, it is jam packed with a variety of alcoholic and snack goodies from wall to wall. You literally, can take your pick of the splendor. I definitely suggest this place as a stock-up point before a nice all-day concert / music festival. read more

Worst customer service they sell a bottle for 79.99 come lest than hr later to get another and try to sell it to you for 99.99 like who does that and to top it off those bottle have been there for who know how long cause they were full of dirt n dust and yet they want to raise the price in less than And hour worst customer service never coming back. Free vodka samples while waiting in line? Wait, what? Brandywine Liquor got it goin on. One of the better selections of no so common beers and a shitload of spirits. They sell the pocket-sized Jack Daniels Ten Whiskey for $7 instead of $8. Decent selection of cigs and cigars for a small shop. The guys are really nice too. Always laid back and usually joking around, makes for a relaxed place given there is a security guard walking the aisles. On weekend nights a model serves free samples of whatever new drink is popular or recently shipped in. Most of the time it's Vodka, eck.. but free is hard to beat. Pretty awesome idea for the night-rushes. read more

If I am feeling to lazy to deal with the Costco crowds, or want something different, I come to Brandywine Liquor. This liquor store is FULL off the staples for your average drinker, but has a lot of really unique alcohol. They have great prices, and also have certain specials, which are rare for a liquor store. I will normally grab some scotch for the boy, and grab whatever is in the most awesome bottle for myself and dive in. read more

Oh my what a store! This is the single best liquor, fast food, convenient store I have ever visited. A great place to stop even if it is a little out of your way. DO NOT MISS this place it really has it all. Be sure to ask for 'Kusay' he is there most of the time and he is the finest looking man you will ever see. I'll have this bottle of pink elephant beer, this bottle of novelty bloody mary mixer and vodka, this handful of mexican candy, this bottle of 99 bannanas, and, uh... I'll take three of these lottery tickets. Nope, that's all. Oh! And four limes, please. -1 star for crud in the pink elephant beer. Came here last night during almost closing and nice man named Carlos was nice enough to let me in and cater to my late night needs!!!! This liquor store is beautiful and super clean! I used to go here plenty of times when I was living in the area. They have done some upgrades through out the years to try and keep the place looking new. The staff that work here have decent customer service skills. I just wish they would remember their regular customers a little better. read more

What's even more frustrating is that there are no prices displayed on any of the products, making it impossible for customers to know what they're being charged beforehand. I'm not an attorney, but I'm fairly certain California has consumer protection and pricing disclosure requirements intended to help customers understand what they're paying before they make a purchase. Whether those specific laws apply here or not, customers should be able to see pricing clearly and consistently. Whenever I ask staff about pricing, I'm often met with attitude or made to feel like I'm doing something wrong simply for asking a basic question. Considering that the prices seem to change every visit, I think that's a reasonable concern. And no, the prices don't seem to be getting cheaper each time--quite the opposite. The whole experience feels questionable and lacks transparency. Customers shouldn't have to guess what they're going to pay or feel uncomfortable asking about prices. A little consistency, clear pricing, and better customer service would go a long way. This is especially concerning in a military community. Many service members and their families are new to the area and may not be familiar with local businesses or what prices should reasonably be. When prices aren't clearly displayed and seem to change from visit to visit, it creates the impression that customers are expected to simply accept whatever they're charged. Whether that's the intention or not, that's how it comes across. The reality is that this affects everyone. Military families, longtime residents, and visitors all deserve the same transparency and fairness. Clear pricing protects customers and builds trust within the community. I also find myself wondering how the San Diego County Weights and Measures Division would view business practices like this, where prices are not clearly displayed and customers appear to be charged different amounts for the same items on different visits. Transparency shouldn't be optional. People can be very confident and dismissive when they're behind a counter or in their workplace. I just wonder if that same energy would be there outside of that setting. Treating customers with respect shouldn't depend on where you're standing. At the end of the day, if the pricing is legitimate and consistent, then displaying it clearly should not be an issue. Transparency benefits both the business and the customer...

I live two street lights away from this particular booze store, and I go in there frequently for their 2 for 1 cigarette deals. It's a tiny little store, and their al-kee-hol prices aren't any different from your normal liquor store, but the owner and his sons are extremely courteous to every customer that browses their establishment. They're really laid back and can easily remember you after entering their store just once. "Oh, you're short 48 cents? That's okay, just take it sweetie." "Oh, you're buying 3 fifths of vodka? I'll only charge you for 2." That sort of thing happens a lot in there. With all of that, it kind of makes you wonder how this family stays in business if they're cutting corners for their customers all the time. They kill you with their damn kindness, that's how, and I keep going back.

I also asked for a bag since I was walking and carrying a heavy gallon of water along with chips, but the owner told me "you don't need a bag." It also seemed like he may have been about to step out for a smoke when I walked in, so the interaction felt rushed and dismissive.
