Unlike the other reviews and photos on this Trolley Trail, we walked it in early March. It was a beautiful day in the 60s and there were quite a few people out on the trail. As noted on several hiking websites, this location is not easily mapped/ located. There are parking lots at either end of the actual trail which is flat, easily walked and scenic in every season. To reach the trail, park on either West Point Rd or Tilcon Rd. Both are large lots accommodating about 20 cars each. In early spring, the path is wide open and not a single bug in sight. You are walking through a marsh so if it's mosquito season, apply bug repellant. There are great views of the Thimble Islands and Stony Creek. The bridge adds a nice dimension to this short hike. At the West Point Rd end, you can keep walking to the right toward the town dock and a general store, pizza place and in season, some tour boats offering Thimble Island tours. It's a nice short hike. I'm not sure what the town of Branford doesn't actively promote the location. Google map the two streets mentioned Ed above and you will find the way!

Nice place for an easy walk. The trail is mostly open so on a clear warm day, it gets a little hot. There are a few shaded sections of the trial which are nice during the summer. It is well maintained, easy to walk and sports a nice view of a few of the Thimble Islands. I would really enjoy it more as a bike trail to get through the long sunny spots quicker and add a breeze, but walking was A-OK. The unfortunate part of the walk is the number of inconsiderate dog walkers who do not clean up after their pets on the trail. The trail is going to be part the CT Shoreline trail, and it will be a pretty section. We especially enjoyed the bird nests along the way and the little crabs crawling all over the place in the marsh. Parking was easy during the week and since it is currently a one way up and back the same way it is just a good little place to get out and walk on a pretty day.

Lovely spot. Beautiful view. It's a great way to have a look at the Thimble Islands.
