My husband and I were planning our very special milestone anniversary celebration. It was a cross between a wedding reception and a cocktail party. It was important to me to get photos to commemorate the big day. I started emailing every single approved photographer on our venue's list. I was, at first discouraged, as many were super expensive, and others only offered full day packages, that included time for wedding ceremonies (which I had no need for). Others, told me they would sit with me and pose me every moment... which sounded horrific to me. After contacting Brant Bender, I looked to find only positive reviews. He also sounded very down to earth and charged by the hour, which allowed me to book only the four hours that I wanted. It was also nice that I didn't have to pay until after the event, when I received the photos. I sent over a list for formal photos along the harbor, as well as some basic wishes for the reception. I let him know that I wanted to enjoy the celebration rather than worrying so much about posing. I also let him know about a few specific things that I wanted photos of and with. Brant was friendly and easy to work with. He came with an assistant and was very professional. He took the photos I had asked, and made some suggestions. He was never pushy and I felt that he was there to take the photos that I had requested. I got some comments from guests that he was very unobtrusive, which is exactly what I wanted. Our phots came back in just a few days, much quicker than promised. He did a great job editing some of the formal photos. We also received a lot of fun cameos of our guests.
