This is probably one of the best chain ice cream locations in the lower Midwest. I stop at a Braums every chance since there are none in Kansas north of Emporia. Tonight I had two dips of their ice cream (mint chocolate chip and peppermint). Yum!!! What I like about most as for the case of this one in Independence KS they have young adults working the counters and this one rocked the boat they were polite and willing to help. I love braum's. I had a 1/3 lb cheeseburger with extra sauce and a cherry limeade. I did not get extra sauce but at least it was hot. The cherry limeade was the palest hint of pink and I really can't taste the cherry. I didn't have time to ask for more sauce or syrup. read more

Braum's food is ALWAYS amazing!!! From the burger to the fries, from the limeades to the sundaes. They cannot miss, unless it's not made fresh. Once again the service here is the reason for this updated review, it's HORRIBLE! It's been 6 years since my first review, but I have been coming here for almost 20! I really would like for this Braum's to have a formal training to learn how to treat customers. We came here everyday this past weekend because we love and missed it so much! We got everything listed above; fries, burgers, drinks, ice cream and it was great....but it came with a rude price. I wish there was a Braums where I lived so I wouldn't have to experience this EVERY time I come home. This time I completely understand it's been a long weekend filled with festivities and everyone is most likely tired and overworked. People go to restaurants for two reasons to eat and be treated with respect since they are paying for their food with the money they worked hard for. Eye rolls, wrong orders, and no straws or napkins is not what's expected I don't care if it's McDonald's or Ruth Chris. Everyone deserves to be treated with human decency, but this Braum's lacks the core value that the customers are the reason the business is still running. Keep driving! Good - bathrooms were clean. Bad - restaurant was a complete disaster. We waited 30 min and not a single meal came out and drive thru orders came back missing the primary part of the order. We watched banana splits be sent back due to no hot fudge or strawberry sauce???- 4 orders came out in front of ours - none of them right (we ordered a single burger, 2 chicken strips and 2 orders of fries) - while we waited on fries? Every order in front of us had fries. Finally got food - and yes it was cold. The chicken strips inedible - but hey the fries were hot? Probably 20 angry customers standing around. Never again. I went to the Braums on W 15th and Independence and was horribly surprised at the atmosphere ! Gnats flying in the Soda Machine, Managers yelling at their Employees in Public and trash just spilling throughout each can in the Restaurant! When I went to get some food after work the main Manager was so unprofessional and as I went to get a drink the ice was immeasurably covered in Gnats that I had to throw it away and leave that God Forsaken place for good. NEVER go to the Braums of W 15th and Independence cause everything there reeks of bugs Spray that even gets on the food too! read more

I ordered a turtle sundae. They brought it to me it had no hot fudge very little caramel. I told them it was supposed to be a turtle sundae. The guy took it back put goons of whipped top and no more of anything else. Not worth the money at 4.83. Not good read more

This is the 2nd time we've stopped here. First time the place was a wreck behind the counter. Dirty ice cream box tops, dirty malt makers, dirty floors and no one caring. Malts weren't mixed completely, ice cream running down the side. At that time I thought I would never stop here again. Circumstances dictated differently, stopped here today for a malt. Walked in, stood at counter, several employees looked but didn't speak, walked by. We were the only ones at counter for ice cream or food. They had two drive thru orders on screen ( which was dirty). Just came here with my college softball team and as they were handing out orders they forgot a medium fry with one of our combos. So, my teammate told the manager and he tried showing the receipt but wouldnt let her see her exact order on the receipt and then was completely rude and started yelling at her saying she didn't pay for it. We got it figured out and he was in the wrong. He was completely rude and disrespectful to the rest of my team when giving them their orders. I've always loved Braums ice cream and I used to love their burgers at their old location. Ever since they moved to Main Street their burgers seem less juicy and cold. I can't figure out what the deal is....there also is a VERY RUDE lady working there who acts like she hates when we come in and almost rolls her eyes at requests. Braum's is the best when it's hot and fresh. Been eating here for years. There is no competition when it comes to their ice cream. This location is USUALLY always good and staff is usually super nice but today my burger was cold and the young boy who gave me my bag didn't put in napkins or the ranch I asked for. I just left this establishment with my cheer squad and although my burger was good, my fries tasted old and my shake was super thick. Also we were waiting for our football team to show up and they showed up about 4 minutes past they're closing time (10:45 which is weird). However the football team was denied entry and were sent away.
