Then at the back it has a small post office bit where you are always quick to be served. The post office is quite small and I used to find it hard to get my buggy round. But the lady and man who run it were so friendly and often helped me, you couldn't ask for better service. They still ask my parents how we are. Overall a smallish post office but has everything you need in it.

an extremely busy post office in the heart of the village…read moreopen 9 - 5.30 5 days a week and 9-1 on saturdays. a vast arrange of greetings cards wrapping papers and stationery is available, and a free to use cash machine as well as the normal things you would expect from your post office. there are 2 counters, and there is usually a queue!. there is also a range of gifts available as well as a few childrens toys. a christmas club scheme is on offer here to help spread the cost of xmas. the post office is the hub of our village, it holds the local noticeboard of things for sale etc, and is where most people meet for a catch up.

Trust me, if I can do it anyone can, just take your time and ignore the comments of the youngsters. Funnily, some of them were totally finished at the top. This village is full of history and more seems to come to light every time I visit. People complain about the cost but look around you, look at where that money is going. The upkeep is better now than it has ever been. Worth every penny in my estimation.

Bideford library can be found just opposite the bridge. There is plenty of car parking near by but…read moresadly it isn't free during the day. As you enter the building there is always lots of information leaflets and booklets about local issues including bus timetables. It's a fairly small library but has many different sections from the childrens area to reference books. Computers are also available to use but is always busy so maybe worth asking about booking one. The staff are fairly friendly and there are sessions for children. I think the childrens area is quite cosy so a great place to take the kids on a rainy day to browse the books.
