Bravissimo - Bravisimo! - Lingerie Near Me - Manchester, XGM

Bravissimo is an absolute godsend of a shop for women who - like me - have breasts the size of small African countries. Yes, the underwear there may be a little bit more expensive than the stuff you'd get somewhere like Debenhams or Marks and Spencers, but the quality of it is excellent - and I'd much rather pay a little bit extra to ensure that I'm wearing a bra that fits me properly. Most importantly of all though, the underwear it sells is attractive, an attribute which is sorely missing from a lot of larger sized lingerie currently being sold by a lot of other high street retailers. Bravissimo's staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive - and even better, they don't appear to suffer from that awful "cold hands" syndrome that many bra fitters appear to have. Often, they can tell what bra size you are just by looking at you, and aren't afraid to use their eyes and hands rather than a tape measure to ensure that you get the best, and most comfortable fit for your shape. The shop also stocks a wide range of attractive and flattering swimwear, and shirts and dresses which promise not to gape in the chest area - a problem that many larger breasted ladies face when they're buying clothing on the high street. All in all, this is a real gem of a lingerie store. I only wish there were more like it! read more

God send! When all the other stores will catch on I don't know but for any lady over a DD cup, this is the only place to get properly fitted and find a wide range of comfortable bras in the correct size that don't look like bolder holders in battleship grey but are feminine, come in a great range of styles and trendy fabrics but most importantly, are well designed. Recommend the strapless bras this summer especially as they have 3 or 4 hooks at the back for added support and stay put. Lovely for bridal lingerie to get you through the day without you wanting to get out your dress for the wrong reasons and also maternity bras - might seem expensive but looking after your bangers pays off. Do excellent sexy swim wear too and a line of tops that wont gape but enhance your assets with hidden support. I love the wrap jersey dresses as they're very flattering, can be dressed up or down for any occasion and last as my weight yoyos about a bit. Wish the shop was a bit bigger as can seem a bit claustrophobic when busy. If you need fitting, avoid weekends as you'll be waiting ages and if you've a pram, there is a downstairs changing room you can wheel it into comfortably but do ask as they don't tend to tell you about it! read more

What on earth could a man tell you (presumably) women about Bravissimo? Well, this isn't aimed at you womenfolk. Get your boyfriend to read this and he'll thank me for it. Basically, the staff at Bravissimo have an incredible talent for making the awkward, hanging-around in a lingerie shop man feel alright. In other shops, where people stare at you like you're a Catholic priest in a playground, the people in this shop give you a comforting look of pity and are more than likely to chat to you. Very welcome. On a selfish note, the things they sell in there are usually very pleasing on the eye, enabling you to be a doting partner and say "I'd like to see you in that!" Mercifully, it's not filled with grim bustiers, so there's little chance of you looking like a listless colonel picking out bad crotchless knickers for his mistress. The staff, in my experience, really look after the girls who shop there. They fit girls up with things that actually fit them properly, which leaves the fairer sex feeling rather good about themselves. So yeah, joining in on a underwear shop doesn't actually have to be weird and clunky. read more

I was recommended this shop by a bored sales assistant in La Senza, who, when I asked her about a size bigger than an F said I was 'too big' and to 'go elsewhere'. As lunalara says, this shop is a godsend; the ladies fit you with a bra using their eyes and hands (sounds a bit saucy but isn't), rather than resorting to a tape measure and lumping your boobs into a category which doesn't always apply, considering the amount of lingerie manufacturers out there. The prices are pretty hefty for a student like me, but as long as I can jog for the bus without knocking myself out, I'm happy to pay it, especially when I get a pretty good bra out of it, as opposed to a nasty, ageing piece of lace available in 2 colours with massive straps. The thing that I love about this shop is the friendly feel it has. I have never seen a sales assistant in there with small boobs; it makes me feel much more at ease with my awkward size, and the sales assistants are always very helpful and willing to fetch sizes which aren't on display. You do pay that little bit more, but their bras are so comfortable and fit like a glove, honestly. They don't always have the designs that I like, but as others have said, they have a much larger selection online. I love finding an excuse to go underwear shopping here! read more

I've been a loyal customer of Bravissimo for about 20 years now, started with their first few catalogues, then moved with them to their store in The Triangle and then to the store on Kings Street, Manchester. Their product, range and quality have gone from strength to strength and I never purchase lingerie anywhere else . While the prices are higher than other places (M&S, Debenhams etc) they are the only place that I can get bras that truly fit and are designed for my size. The staff are amazing, always helpful and knowledgeable. I loving shopping here, you never feel rushed and they will take their time just to get you the right style and fit everytime. The only recent disappointment is that they recently started their catalogue in the US, I moved out to the States several years ago and either buy online and have it shipped over or buy in bulk when I visit Manchester, a couple of times a year. The prices in the US catalogue are outrageous though , double the cost of the UK, they are offering free returns which is an extra but even with the cost of exchange rates and international shipping it's cheaper to still buy from the UK, which makes no sense. Can the Bravissimo team take a look at this and have a rethink about the US pricing. read more

Bravissimo is for ladies with bigger busts. Bravissimo make their own range of so-so clothes, but the rest of the bra's are from brands such as Panache, Freya, Rigby and Peller. They are not cheap but it is important to wear a good fitting bra. If you get a good consultant, they will measure you by sight as opposed to measurement tapes which is an excellent idea - when I have been measured using the typical tape measure method my size has varied from 38 B to 34 DD - in one day. So the method is good and they will stay with you till you find something that fits. If the bras are too expensive, do an online search for the bra's as they are made from other manufacturers, not just Bravissimo. read more

This shop is a god send if you have trouble finding nice, pretty lingerie for a big bust. They have lots of ranges af lovely bras, and as everyone else has said, they are more on the expensive side, but ultimately worth it when you finally find one that fits and lasts for more than a few months! the shop is unique to Manchester and located in the Triangle shopping centre. This is now the only place I will buy underwear from. The changing rooms are fabulous with red silk robes and friendly and knowledgeable staff. The staff are considerate and will bring all the bras they feel will support you best. They give great advice and the store offers the best range of products of its kind. At the check out they wrap your purchases in tissue paper and put them in a gorgeous little bag. They then take your details so that they can send you the fabulous catalogue! Also, if you are measured for a bra and find it uncomfortable they will refund it with no quibble. Brilliant service. Top marks! read more

A real godsend! I went for a fitting here and found out I was wearing completely the wrong size of bra. My 36E's became comfortable 30HH's (yikes) The staff are very helpful, nice and polite and they were quite willing to listen to me rant and moan about everything involving bras! I never felt rushed and I was not pressured into buying anything. However, I did leave with a fair few bras and I will be back for more soon. Bear in mind- they have a wider selection online and the stores can also order items in, should you need. Their dresses are lovely and flattering although the selection is not too brilliant. Every woman working there is more than happy to help with fitting, finding additional sizes, and just plain making you feel your best while you're there.
