This is a great place to eat! It is situated along the seafront promenade in Chipiona near the…read morelighthouse and just a little bit above sea level at high tide. It has tables both inside and outside. The view is really beautiful on a nice day but be careful that if you take an outside table near the sea wall around high tide you could get splashed if the waves are bigger than normal. At low tide the algae covered rocks are exposed and produce a wonderful sea fragrance. This is situated right next to one of the "corrales de pesca" (fishing traps) which are basically stone walls with small chink holes for the water to pass through that protrude a way into the sea and have a height that is a bit lower than sea level at high tide. When the tide is high they fill with water at which point fish, squid, octopus, etc. get into them. When the tide goes down the animals are trapped and the locals catch what is there. At night you can see them with lanterns working their way though the rocks bagging the catch. These date from the days of the Romans. The restaurant specializes in seafood and what they offer is excellent. There is always fresh catch to select from: doradas, lubinas, corvinas, etc. A favorite of ours is pez moro which is a dark skinned rock fish that I have only ever encountered at Las Canteras. The meat is very white and delicate with a wonderful flavor. There is also a great selection of fried fish and other sea food such as acedias, pijotas, salmonetes, puntillitas, calamares, etc. If you want to try something different you might try the ortiguillas which are sea anemones. These are deep fried in batter which makes them very crunchy on the outside but very oyster-like on the inside but with a strong sea flavor. You will probably either love them or hate them. I love therm. My wife hates them. Another great dish they offer is tomates a la plancha (grilled tomatoes). Don't be fooled! This is not "just tomatoes". The tomatoes are sliced and grilled with olive oil and spices along with wild asparagus and oyster mushrooms. It is absolutely delicious and unexpectedly filling. The staff are very friendly as long as they are not too pressed with a very large number of customers. The place gets mobbed during the summer and they have a very hard time keeping up. We know a few of the waiters by name after having come here over the years and have very pleasant relationships with them. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We've tried many places and were just so-so, but this one is the clear winner. The pizza: their pizza is Napoli style, the birthplace of Margherita pizza. So naturally, i had to try it! Very delicious! It had the right amount of sauce and cheese and the dough was the perfect chewy to crust ratio, the way I remembered from eating pizza in Naples, Italy. My friends ordered the Salcissia e friarelli and the carbonara. Both were just as tasty! Pizza portions are huge (comparable to serving sizes in Naples) and can easily be shared between 2-3 people or if you are hangry, just eat it all by yourself haha! The spaghetti allo scoglio was delicious! Just the right amount of seafood and olive oil and the noodles were cooked to a perfect al dente. My niece enjoyed her gnocchi, she is 7 years old but finished the entire dish. The only time she has ever done that was when they were living in Naples. The calzone frito was huge and just as amazing. It is stuffed with ricotta and some kind of salami thinly sliced and is fried. The dough was amazing on its own, it had a sweet taste to it. It was a huge portion as well. The tiramisu - homemade and so good! We barely had room for dessert but figured we should try it since everything else had been really great. This didn't disappoint! They also sell mini pizzas for €1 if you get it to go! The owners/pizza magic makers are originally from Naples, Italy. They also use the brick stove to cook the pizza. Very nice staff here. It is outdoor seating along the beach. For the summer months, they do recommend reservations on Fridays/Saturdays. It is Street parking and there is also a public garage that is a 5 minute walk. We definitely would come here again when the craving hit!
