I am an amateur runner just starting out but they also seem to cater for all runners including the much more advanced than me! This didnt stop them advising me on what shoes were appropriate for me without making me feel like I wasnt important to them, as some athletic shops do if you are not part of the elite. They also have a rather impresive running machine that they can film you to chech your running style. I hear they moved from a smaller unit down the same street, I guess great service and good products does pay off!!

I guess it was one of those whim purchases but consequently I've ended using them a lot because they're so comfortable. The staff in here are very knowledgable and can suggest different styles of running trainers/clothes depending on your foot shape, type of exercise and fitness level. They'll even make you run around and look at your current shoe soles to understand how your body and feet carry your weight. This can be invaluable when you have no clue deciding whether you should buy a cross trainer or dedicated running shoe. Brands include Adidas, Asics, Brooks, GORE, Nike, Odlo, Pearl Izumi, RONO, Saucony and Thorlo.

Everything is a bit too cool, the shop is empty and 'minimalist', the staff aren't friendly in anyway. The clothes on offer are ok, but they cost about three times what they should. It all just distracts from the supposed purpose of being an athletics store. The shop is apparently run by experienced athletes, so the advice you get will be good, I didn't stick around though, the whole place put me off.

Customer service is obviously at the fore front and they will go the extra mile. You feel as if you are getting advice from a good friend as opposed to a sales person. They have an array of sport offerings but particularly specialise in cricket, tennis, rugby and fitness. The items and clothing that they stock is of top performance but also looks really good. In particular I have purchased some great running gear that performs well, is comfortable and is well styled. They have a great eye for product. They are an exciting addition to the Hove and Brighton community. I am all for championing good local retailers such as Nick Rivett Sport.

The small selection fit the size of the shop, with a few shelves of unique, and slightly pricey shoes along the side and front wall. Along the back hung a selection of high-quality printed t-shirts, usually on for £25, but now on offer 2-for-1. The sales clerk was quite friendly, greeting customers as they entered from behind the counter. I can't see myself doing much shopping at Flawless, but for those with particular tastes, I would recommend it.

There were no smiles when I discovered the prices though. Stocking a painfully expensive range of performance enhancing active wear for affluent and active ladies, Sweaty Betty knows her stuff. She's got 'sweat wicking performance tops' and 'anti-bacterial running socks', and for £50 you can invest in 'slimming leggings', which apparently reduce your hips and thighs within 18 days. You do, however, need to wear them for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week throughout a 3 week period, which may make it more apparent where Betty gets her name from. If you're into your fitness and are able to splash the cash a bit, you can indulge in a £40 athlete top, or £69 for a pair of bootleg gym pants complete with a coolmax gusset (?). The water bottles aren't kind on the bank balance either, at a whopping £15. I'm not talking matt or gloss silver either, I'm talking thousands of silver sequins painstakingly stitched into two sneaker-size glitterballs. I would have bought them too, only my rap skills are zero. Maybe I'll twitter Jay-Z and Kanye and see if either of them want a pair. Seriously, these sneakers belong on stage. :-)

Actually, maybe I am being a little harsh, it's just the BRIGHTON branch of Size? That doesn't seem to have a lot going for it any more. I haven't bought a pair of trainers from there in years, the last time I did spot a pair that I wanted to buy, they didn't have my size. The Size? On Carnaby Street in London is pretty cool. I will make sure I review it next time I'm there.

Decathlon is the best sports shop there is both for value for money and range of stock…read more You won't believe the amount of stuff in there and we can easliy spend a couple of hours just browsing. They sell everything from football stuff to hunting, shooting and fishing. During the winter months they have a cheap and extensive range of ski wear and ski equipment and you can kit out the whole family easily. In the summer this changes to beach stuff and hiking gear such as boots, trousers and jackets. If you can't find what you need here it probably doesn't exist.

The store is over multiple floors which is rather unconmon for JD branches, accesser through a narrow escalator or a mobility service lift which looks probably even worse: It looked dark, gloomy, frightning, offputting, like it was there for being the cheapest option, not the best option. The staff members seemed disintetested, congregating around the tills and talking to each other which I didn't like. A tale of two halfs in the case of this store, they really do need to look at possibly refurbishing the store to give it the modern, real JD Sports format the majority of stores have as right now it seems to be stuck inbetween the old logo branches (really bad) in the likes of Oldham and W12 London, and the new modern branches in nearly every major city and mall from Manchester to Meadowhall. 2* - Some good products, a nice brand and visually appealing store from the outside but definitely in need of refurb and customer service improvements.
