A small boutique winery set in the most amazing location producing a wine variety of delicious wines.
We had an afternoon free in Queenstown and decided to visit some wineries. Matthew from NZ win tours hosted us on our private tours and Brennan was our second stop. We had asked him to take us to small, boutique wineries where the passions of the winemaker combine with terroir to produce something special.
We learned they are a relatively young Winery with their First vintage only in 2007. They are located on an absolutely
Delightful spot nestled up against a small mountain and we sat outside in perfect temperature and tasted 10 wines-quite a range of varieties and styles.
In addition, we had a nice Charcuterie tray that was perfect for lunch while we tasted.
This family owned spot is unique in that they use onlyGibbston fruit in their wines and we enjoyed their handiwork. Favorites included:
-Pinot Grigio- light refreshing
-Pinot Gris -same grape, more lively than the Pinot Grigio
-2015 Pinot b2-award winning,
-Brennan Pinot-2012 and 2011
They also make a Chablis style Chardonnay, interesting Tempranillo Rose, and Muscat.
While the tasting room is a bit understated, the beautiful outdoor table set amidst the vineyards makes this a must-do stop on any trip to the area. read more
