Be very careful when you work with Tom Coolidge (associate broker at Berkshire Hathaway, president…read moreof the Whispering Aspen), double check literally every document Tom sends you to sign. Confirm every word Tom tells you. Push and follow every deadline. Working alongside Tom you may be lucky enough to experience constant promises to fix matters which aren't fixed eventually, disclosures with missing crucial information, fake appraisal reports, documents which don't match County records. Tom even can demonstrate you real brokerage magic to sell non-existing property. We had that all. We almost bought a $500K single family residence sold by Tom which is in fact a $200K detached prefab condo without land within PUD. We were lucky to exit the deal 2 days before the closing after extensive talks with the County, attorneys, lender, title, appraisal and seller. Because of the hard arguing with the seller - they agreed to terminate the deal and return our earnest money. And Tom was OK with such a situation, not issues or sorry from his end. Don't believe that such magic can happen? He would deliver documents to us at the last minute and expect immediate responses. His seller missed a deadline and we got an email telling us the contract had terminated as a result of THEIR delay. In retrospect, its all for the best. Anytime you see his name on, or associated with, a listing, Caveat Emptor.
