I uncovered a session of incredible, haunting photos that she took of her own daughter in Parc Outremont one Fall and was instantly sold by their colors, composition, and the portrait of the fragile, fleeting beauty of childhood. Since Kate is a mom, she knows how to relate to kids and how to coax the most beautiful belly laughs and joyful expressions out of them. What she was able to get out of my three year-old daughter and me in that hour or so was pure gold. My favorite photo of my daughter is one that Kate captured during that session, and that's saying a lot since we must have thousands of pictures of our baby girl by now! I spent time and money getting my hair dyed professionally and then a separate appointment for a blowout to prepare .. I don't put the time and effort away from my family for self care like that often... bought a new dress for my daughter.. all for nothing. We also haven't had a professional fam shoot in 2+ years so was really looking forward to capturing my 5 year old daughter on vacation as a beautiful memory / souvineer. My husband said he signed a contract and paid the price In full via PayPal (felt like he should have agreed to pay 50% deposit or something along those lines but yea..). We confirmed the night before via email but no response which was unsettling but we decided follow through and show up if you have a contract so we went anyway. Vague meeting spot since the outside of the building meet spot was huge so made sure we circled the building a few times to guess if that's Mandy + Randy like a ispy game. No phonecall from them to say they're looking for us or was there a miscommunication... just a no-show and as of now no refund but we will keep following up. Wild and upsetting.
