We tend to rely heavily on word of mouth and when I found out that my sister (who is a nurse) and my niece found a doctor they liked and trusted- I decided to give him a shot. I booked an appointment with Dr. Lee through his office and the soonest appointment available for a new patient was about one month later. It wasn't an emergency in my case, but it did seem a little long to wait... I'm glad I did, though! Unfortunately at the time of my first visit I had just suffered through miscarriage. It was a difficult time and Dr. Lee proved to be one of the most patient, kind and thorough doctors I have ever met. He ordered for me to do a series of tests to make sure everything was okay and to be proactive with my health since i hadn't been to a doctor in years. Upon receiving the results, he instructed me of what supplements I should be on and what to watch out for and what he would monitor over time. I've visited him on several occasions for different things. The most recent being for my lungs. As a former smoker, I was concerned about my breathing and he listened in and ordered a chest x-ray that very morning to be read by him immediately [to rule out cancer]. I do have to take medicine for an inflammation and build up but I was so grateful that he was proactive and took my concerns to heart. Dr. Lee is now our family doctor for my fiance and I -and hopefully one day soon for our little ones as well :-)... I must say, the wait for beau's first visit is almost 3 months... If you're a new patient and not in a rush- do not let the wait discourage you! It's a miracle he's still accepting new patients. Plus, it's only a wait for new patients-- once you are a patient of his, you become a priority. He even works on Saturdays. In the event you get an appointment, you should get to the office on time but be prepared to wait. Because of his attention and genuine concern for his patients, he takes his time with each individual. I've never felt rushed. His office is located in the Kuakini Medical Plaza on the 3rd floor. If you are coming from the parking garage, you'll have to take the elevator to the 4th floor where you will find the entrance to the Plaza building (kind of confusing- but you can handle!).

My daughter has been seeing him since she was two years old and while he was still at Kuakini hospital. She is now 8 and loves going to her visits with him. He is good at what he does, very informative, and explains everything to you as far as what labs to get done and the results of them afterwards. Plus points goes to his balloon twisting skills! Yep, if you see kids coming out of the hospital with balloons, I believe it may have come from his office! He does the basic stuff but he'll try do do his best if they ask for something out of the ordinary, lol. We will continue to go to him for my daughter's regular visits. He is wonderful and his staff is just as great as he is!

I came back from Japan after a 3-yr absence in Hawaii and my cholesterol chalked in at a 296 and weighed in at 220 lbs (my height is 5'7). At that time I was lectured and I asked him to prescribe me medication to bring that number down but he told me "No. I want you to do it the hard way by diet and exercise because you are capable of doing that." I just had my annual physical the day after Thanksgiving and got my results from Dr. Marsh. My cholesterol dropped to 186 and I weighed in at 161 lbs (I refused to eat pumpkin pie the nite before!!!). In my 20 years w/ Dr. Marsh, he is such a friendly and caring person. His office is very busy and many times i have to wait patiently but I don't mind. He never gave up on me during the 20 years to bring my cholesterol and weight down so waiting 30-40 mins is not an issue at all.

Doctor Goshima was a City Doctor when I first got in the City 45 years ago and at first when he asked if I remembered him I told him I did not. Then somehow my brain remembered and I asked if he enjoyed removing earwax and he told me that was one of his favorite things to do. It was then we all knew I remembered him. He kept me healthy for over 30+years and I am grateful. Unfortunately Dr. Goshima is in heaven now, he passed last year October 2024. I am sad he did not have too much time to enjoy his recent retirement. If I could give him a hundred stars, I would do it without hesitation. The world has lost one of the greatest doctors. Kena seems to be the only competent person working there that has genuine customer service and patient care (other than the doctor). I do not feel comfortable going to a doctor who tolerates such a terrible office staff. I'll return when George and Tina are gone.
