This location has been the cleanest return it depot I've been to…read more The service over last Christmas season was wonderful. The manager, Larry, was very welcoming, and extremely helpful. He even helped myself and other customers sort their bottles and move the trays. Recently though, he hasn't been in very much and the shop has clearly gone downhill fast. Other workers are rude, repeatedly ignore or yell across the room at customers instead of going over to help. I also find it inconsiderate and less inviting when I enter a shop where the employees are all speaking to each other in a language other than English. Just makes you wonder what they might be saying about customers that can't understand them. Young female employee said she didn't know if Larry was coming back. Happy to see he did come back because I was about to go find a different depot to give my business to.

I was looking for a place that takes e-waste and it was pretty convenient that they take all kinds…read moreof things, including your standard cans / bottles. You simply drive straight into the parking lot and drop off your e-waste on pallets. There were a lot of random things already there like bulky TVs, monitors, etc. You might as well take any cans / bottles that you have at the same time. There's an express option if you don't have the time to wait around or if you don't want to manually count your containers. 1) Sign up for an account on their website. 2) Enter your phone number into the kiosk and print labels. 3) Stick 1 label on each bag of recycling (bags must be clear). 4) The containers will be counted for you, and the money will be direct deposited into your bank account. You can even export an excel that shows the quantities of each container that was counted. The only catch is that there is no guarantee that they will accurately count your bags. The first time I went to the Collingwood location, only 5 out of the 6 total bags were counted. I went again this weekend and tried my luck at the 2639 Kingsway location, and only 5 out of the 7 bags were counted. If contactless drop off is more of a priority to you then this would be a great option. But if you actually care about getting the accurate $ amount, the best way is to just count it all yourself.

He came outside and yelled at me as I was getting into my car! My experience was bad and the next time I went there I was prepared for him but he was already gone!

I went there today (Apr 20, 2025) with a couple hundred or so bottles and cans that accumulated…read moreover the last while. I was also getting over being sick the past few days and had some errands that accumulated, so time was of the essence. When I arrived, there was only 1 cart and no trays. I grabbed the cart and wheeled it into the customer receiving/counting area but there was no one there. I waited a couple of minutes and no one came out even though I saw at least one worker eyeball me from back inside of their work area. I figured no one was coming so I decided to wheel the cart to my vehicle. I then stacked my bottles and cans as neat as I could, 12 per row. By the time I finished I was concerned that if I wheeled it to the customer service area, that the cans and bottles would tumble over into a mess. Earlier I saw that a worker came out to another customer's car and seemed to do the count there, for the same reason since that customer also didn't have any trays. I left the cart at my car and walked into the customer service area. Again, no one was there. I could see a worker or two who looked at me, however no one came out. A few literal minutes later, another customer drove in and came in through the other (north) door. Shortly thereafter a worker came out but instead of asking me if I needed help, the employee immediately asked the other person if he needed assistance. Fine, I thought, I'll wait until he was done. He mentioned something about needing a pallet but I really didn't pay attention. After he left, I expected that the worker would help me, however by this time 2 other customers came in after me, both with carts, and the employee started helping them without saying anything to me or even thinking to herself why this person had been standing in the area for the last several minutes. I realized that by the time the worker finished with the other customers and got to me, a significant amount of time would have passed and quite frankly I still had other errands to run. I calculated things out and determined it would be quicker for me to simply pack up my items and load them back into my car- which is exactly what I did. The whole time I reloaded everything back into my car, no one came out to check on me or even ask if I was stealing these items. Ironically after loading everything, I noticed that there was a scruffy looking person who arrived on a bike, who looked like he was in fact stealing bottles and cans. I was loaded up and ready to go, and given my experience was not motivated to speak up about this. Even if I wanted to, I don't think I could have gotten the attention of any employee even if I fired a flare into the sky. I'm happy to find another place to offload my items and just need to ensure that wherever I do business is not linked to this chain or mother company.

I really had no idea what to do with my old vacuum cleaner and my crockpot from the dinosaur age. Seriously, it's not easy to get rid of this kind of stuff anymore! So I was thrilled to find this place, and the whole process of unloading this kind of stuff was so easy! Finding the place is the most difficult part of the whole process; it's in an industrial area, parallel to Terminal Ave, just a few minutes away from the Science Center. Luckily, there is a sandwich-board sign by the road, marking the entrance to their huge, unpaved parking lot. Once I found the place, I pulled up to a large, opened garage door on the warehouse there, and I saw a guy loading stuff into various bins. I asked him if I could just put my stuff down by the bins and he said sure. I dumped my stuff and left. I mean, how much easier can offloading your junk be? I believe this place is open every day of the year, and the have long hours, too. Can't beat that! (Writing this, I am reminded that I have a broken NutriBullet I should bring there soon. Glad I found this place, as my condo doesn't have the storage to keep broken appliances hanging around).

Good to know that these locations exist when one has too…read moremany empties to simply swing by the liquor store, or encounters a nitpicky supermarket guy who won't accept empties from products they don't sell. Parking is available in a small cramped lot next to the building, as well as on Powell outside of rush hour. The area is quite efficient, with large dollies and plenty of room for sorting empties. One nice thing about this location is that they also accept other electronics, such as lamps, clocks, and even car batteries. Many other locations don't. Special mention. I think this will be my new go-to place for saving things from the landfill.

I have been here a few times and consistently, the staff is courteous, upbeat and friendly. For only two staff working, they are fast, efficient and organized. During the down times, I see them sanitize the countertop and check the garbage. There is also a touch free basin to wash and dry your hands. Bonus, that the return price is better than other places ! Definitely worth the trip! The only little downside is that there is limited parking in the lot, but there are lots of side street parking neary.

I'm EXTREMELY tired of him. He counted my items with less value twice and did not want to pay me back the difference. Not just that, when I realized that he gave me a bit money less and informed him nicely, he even threw the money at me. Seriously, if he doesn't like his job, why even doing it? The outside area is for those appliances, cardboards, flexible plastics etc. What I like most about this place is the container for recycling clothes, shoes and textiles. Make sure they are clean before putting them into the container. Inside the building is where you return your bottles for the deposit. The place is clean and there is a sink to wash your hand.

I used to go to this one all the time because my local depot BIGGAR ENTERPRISES in Poco REFUSED to…read morepay full deposit. Once they were forced to I started going there because of its location. Well after some terrible disrespectful disgusting encounters with the horrific staff at BIGGAR I will return to this location. This place is safer, more secure, cleaner and all around a much more pleasant experience. This staff here is amazing and POLITE unlike the RUDE and literally CRAZY staff member who calls herself the " manager " at BIGGAR . If you have a car this place is worth the drive! Clean INDOOR sorting, lots of trays and trolleys and nice people work there. Win win.
