Taught me absolutely nothing. Lessons were extremely basic and poorly made. The uniform policy is very strict (I was sent home a few times because I was wearing shorts on a skirt day, for example), and the garments themselves are incredibly overpriced and poorly made. read more

This is a true college preparatory school and that is only a portion of it. I have two children who started here in kindergarten. One will be a senior, the other a 9th grader. Both have made National Honor Society, received recognition in extra-curricular activities, and are taking college level courses. This is culture at Brentwood, to work hard and push past personal limitations. They are being prepared for college and life but still are allowed to be kids and have fun. I have my kids here for 3 reasons: 1) the academic expectations are substantially higher than most public schools and many private schools so being taught at levels well beyond the standard will set them up for success in whatever they choose to do, 2) they can participate in any extra-curricular activities they want to be in, 3) it is a Christian school, meaning the moral and ethical standards they are held to are high. The community is great as well which makes it even better for parents and students. Is it perfect? No, but if you want the best for your kids, academically, spiritually and help them grow to be strong minded adults who add to society this is a place for them. Brentwood students compete and win at high levels in state competitions for academics, arts, sports, etc. Tuition is less than many other private schools yet they are still at or near the top in academic ratings and categories. Brentwood Christian has been such an answer to our prayers. We relocated to Texas a few years ago & were looking for a school for our 3 kids. Our oldest child has moved a few times with schools because of us relocating a few times & she has finally found a place that she really feels connected to. Brentwood Christian is a wonderful school, with very committed and experienced administration, faculty and staff. The students that graduate attend college, at a rate of 99-100%, with most earning a lot of scholarship funds. In this regard, what we pay for private school tuition is really an investment with a great return. The stats I have seen put BCS at the top of the list in music, arts, academics, and sports competitions compared to school alll over TX. The tuition is less that all similar private schools of any faith, and this allows families to have the wonderful advantages that may not have been able to afford private school. read more

Brentwood has a strong community that looks for ways to support you. I went there from kindergarten all the way through twelfth grade and I could not have asked for a better school to help me grow academically, socially, and in Christ. When I graduated I received scholarships that covered over half of my tuition at a private university and I was accepted into the Honors college at my university. Brentwood's rigorous academics fully prepared me for my time at college. No place is perfect, but Brentwood is a school that does not tolerate bullying, will work with you to help you succeed, and will help you grow into an adult ready to take on the world. read more

Where do I begin? While my kids have been at BCS since Pre-K, I will start with a recent scenario: SETTING: Talent Show night - both younger and older kids performed. (Bravery is a must in their repertoire of character traits!) A parent of younger kids commented to me on the reaction of the BCS kids in the crowd when a high school student faltered in singing her song. See, this freshman girl had lost her place, and not only did the crowd clap in unison to get her back on the beat, but there were encouraging cries such as, "You've got this!" to prompt her to start back up. That she did, and gave a great performance. The parent said, "THIS is why I am glad my kids are here." My son is waiting to hear from Princeton, Harvard, and Duke - and has already been admitted to the UT Liberal Arts Honors college. He was a Commended National Merit Scholar and has scored high on both the SAT and ACT. This school can prepare you for rigorous higher education academics, but it also shapes each person into one who gives back to the community as well as one who has a heart of ethics and spirituality. We are so blessed to be a part of Brentwood Christian School. The administration and staff truly care about our children and want to see them succeed and grow closer to Christ. They are challenged both spiritually and academically. We feel they are being prepared for college as well as learning about service to others. We paid $700 in February, 2013 for our two children to apply to BCS. There is a $125 application fee per child and a $225 enrollment fee per child. When we applied we asked about the application process and were never given a clear answer as to when we would know if we got in and what our chances of getting in were. We were very concerned that no one could give us a straight answer about our chances of getting in. In April, I contacted BCS and was told there were no spots for my children. We knew when we applied that the $125 application fee was non-refundable and the $225 enrollment fee is only refunded if your child is not offered a spot. However, they have until the first day of school to offer you a spot and if you turn it down they can keep the entire enrollment fee. I contacted BCS in June and was again told there were no spots available so I let them know I would need to enroll my kids in a different school. In July, they called and said they had created spots for my children and would now be keeping the enrollment fee for both kids (again, this is after they knew that we had enrolled them in another school). Our experience with the private, Christian school our kids are now enrolled in was completely different. Everything was very above board and transparent and we were only charged the application fee until our children were actually enrolled in the school. BCS did not have to do a single thing with our applications (no checking references, no ordering school records) and yet they get to keep $700? The entire process left a bad taste in our mouths. At this point I feel like we are lucky we did not entrust them to educate our children. I advise future families to use great caution when applying to this school. read more

I have only the best things to say about BCS. So far, our little one is just in the Children's Ark program (part-time preschool / Mother's Day Out), but it's really high quality care and such a warm and nurturing environment. They spend time playing, do artwork each day, learn songs, go on nature walks, have Bible class - at this age, they teach them general themes about family, etc. They get lots of hugs and encouragement, which warms a mama's heart and makes her so excited to go to school. read more

I have been to Brentwood since kindergarten and I will be graduating in two years and if I were a parent reading reviews I would want to hear from a student. I highly recommend this place for your child. I have grown and become who I am because of Brentwood. I've heard my fair share of stories and yes it is hard to get in but it is worth it. Being in small private school definantly has it's perks. All the classes are smaller which makes it easier for teachers to closely watch their students and make sure that they are doing well and these teachers will go to desperate measures to make sure that you do your best. It a more than easy to get help from a teacher. When teachers are on campus they will always make themselves available to you. These teachers take this more seriously than any average job. I have met at teachers houses for study parties. I have teachers phone numbers for late night help on homework. They are there for you 24/7 and not just for grades. Brentwood will teach you more than just academics but will mentor you too. They are there any time to help you sort through your problems and your math problems. I have been taught the importance of responsibility, time management, how to work with others, the importance of school involvement, and better yet how to prepare for college life. All of this is done with a higher purpose. Everything is Christian based. Highschool is not easy and being able to connect with God during the school day is so refreshing. We have chapel every Thursday and sometimes All-School Chapel with K-12th where we have younger buddies and all praise God as a school. We have hall singing for on Mondays where we take a 15 minute break from school stress and all sing praises amd bible classes everyday allowing us to bond as a class while learning about the Bible. Not only will the school impact you but being a part of the school willl help impact the community. The school does countless service projects. From food drives to helping out at retirement homes.This school has given me countless opportunities and has allowed me to be involved in activities that I wouldn't have tried if I were at a public highschool. It's easier to put yourself out there when you go to a smaller school which makes all the difference on my school experience. You don't just sign up for an education but you sign up to be a part of a loving Christian family. read more
