I've had many different experiences here. Some with the correct information and others without. I know once I saw someone who didn't seem okay in the dmv and I reported it to the front clerk. In the other offices for home taxes and property review. It was just a weird experience. I would ask for help a woman commented that's not my job. So it left me confused. I do look forward to coming back and seeking the correct answers and even an email to message a manager about the customer service. When I recently went back to get my hunters license the lady was very helpful and nice. I do hope the experiences here get better. read more

Today I just went to drop off my voting ballot. They were listed as a place for early voting and ballot drop off. Although the early voting has ceased, you can still drop off your mail-in ballot. With all the strange things that has happened with the ballots... burning, thrown in the woods and falling off the truck, I prefer to bring it in person than send it in the mail. They had signs outside to make it very easy to find the right entrance. And a kind gentleman was waiting as soon as I stepped inside with a sticker and opened the mail slot for me. Today I visited this DMV office for my scheduled appointment to complete my driver license process. I provided all required immigration documents, including my passport, I-94, my approved EAD notice (C09), and an official letter from the Social Security Administration confirming they cannot issue my Social Security Number at this time. Unfortunately, the staff member did not understand or accept the SSA letter, even though Florida DMV's own rules state that if a person does not have an SSN, the DMV must accept a letter from SSA confirming this. Instead of processing my case or verifying my status through SAVE, I was told that they "could not make it work," without offering a real solution. This caused unnecessary stress and delay, even though I followed all legal requirements and came prepared with every document needed. I hope this office provides additional training on handling immigrant cases and SSA letters so future customers do not experience the same issue. read more

DMV. Make your appointment online ahead of time. If they are busy you will wait quite a while. Make sure your have the documents you need. We had to go a few times since we didn't have the correct paperwork. We made an appointment each time. They just build a new side so there is much more room and it a pretty big. There is no service inside so make sure you have everything you need printed out and ready to go to help expedite things. You are able to go with an appointment. There are two lines. However anyone with an appointment will go ahead so you can have a long wait. read more

I called the Cogan office in the morning for an appointment. I was very pleased that she gave me several choices for appointments. I scanned the code on the door but did not realize I need a number. A few minutes before my 1:15 appointment I went up to a window to ask about since everyone else seemed to be responding to window numbers. A Very nice lady looked me up and saw I had an appt so she gave me a number. I only waited about 10 -15 minutes and was called to window 17. The woman there was very pleasant. This place is like a multi-agency. It's a DMV, tax collector, voter registration office. People come here to pay child support and what appears to be probation fees. Conveniently located close to my house. If you are coming from DMV services come early so they can get you a fast turn around. They have a lot of clerks and usually, a lot of counters are open. This time the wait was really short! Got lucky other times I have been here for about an hour just waiting. Newer building with high-tech voice calling out numbers and a TV displaying ads and local news reports. read more

I would like to commend the personnel managing the DMV offices, at the Sarno Rd., Melbourne Complex, with one lady in particular. on Friday, the 4th of September, 2020, I had an 11:30 AM appointment for Driver License renewal. After a reasonable wait, I was directed to Window No.1. As a 75 year old, senior citizen, I do have some hearing issues, and wearing my hearing aid with my face mask, is not an option. The lady at window No.1 displayed people skills, and professionalism, rarely encountered. She had the patience of Job, when having to repeat questions, and even took the time to take multiple photos for an acceptable mug shot. I don't remember her name, but you need many more of her ilk !
