They also have a ton of frozen beverages, non alcoholic beverages, and dog treats. The owner is super friendly and if you have never been there before he will show you how it works. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is because it's a little expensive. For 2 cans it cost $16. I didn't try the pour your own or a frozen drink so I don't know how much they cost. read more

Fun little bar at Krate. The person working was really nice and explained how everything worked. There are plenty of drink options. You can put your card on file and then try out as many or as few drinks from that wall that you'd like. You do get billed per ounce. But if nothing tickles your fancy there, they have a wide range of options available in their fridge as well as margaritas! Super neat concept. The first time I went to one of these was in winter haven and it's such a cool concept. The service was really friendly and it's so easy to just try everything on your own and fill your glass as you please. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. If you don't know how this works, you show your ID, hand in your payment card to start a tab and then fill your cup as you please. Only negative is that it's pretty pricey. I did enjoy this place at the Krates at the Grove. They have an option for self serve different beers, ciders, margarita drinks that you can purchase through a card that you link to your credit card. Each drink is available for a price by the ounce and you pay at the end. You can bring food in or walk around the Grove with your drink. They also have other cans of beer and frozen drinks available at the bar. They have a nice sized place with gold chairs and bar stools and several tables. Televisions throughout. I would say the selection of beers and drinks were good because there's enough to appeal to many different people and tastes but in terms of a beer snob like me, there wasn't anything on the wall that I had not tried before. Jordan at the bar was very helpful though. Open daily at 4 during the week and opens at noon in the weekend. I know things are expensive right now and I will say the beer here was a bit more expensive than you'd find at a local brewery but it's all about the experience. read more

This is one of the cutest Krates that has newly opened up in the Grove. It's very stylish and modern. Seating available inside either at the bar or table seating. They also offer a bunch of picnic tables with umbrellas outside. There is a digital jukebox and fun music playing over the speakers inside. You can open a tab with the server/cashier and they provide a card for you to use and "tap" at the pour station. They have different beers, wines and margaritas available to pour yourself! Once you've decided on what you want to drink, you tap your card on the reader and select the option on the touchscreen monitor, then pour! Don't worry - they have staff available to walk everyone through it. Both staff members we encountered were very nice and upbeat! Great for a quick drink with friends or date night. They served my favorite You're My Boy Blue so I definitely enjoyed that. This is a kid and pup friendly place, and they also offer doggy treats at the bar. They offer nonalcoholic sodas at the bar and we purchased a sprite for our son to enjoy. Super cute spot and happy they have something like it in the Krate. read more

Cool concept, but they definitely need to work out pricing. To be brief, they give you a plastic 16 ounce cup and a card to scan, and then you fill your own cup. I decided on a Fat Tire. This beer is usually around $7/ pint locally, in a glass and poured by a bartender. At .67 per ounce, the same beer I poured into a plastic cup was right around $11. Lo and behold there's a line to add a tip?! What? I just poured my own beer. How about discounting it because the patrons are pouring their own? It had AC inside and a decent vibe, and the owners weren't mean or rude hence 3 stars. Will I be back or recommend? Doubtful. read more

Been trying to go here now for the 3rd time, every time on a Friday afternoon. Kinda hilarious, because their hours state they open at 11, yet every single time the Closed sign is on the door and no one to be found (today even at 1 pm). Couple Fridays ago they were loading kegs at 2:30 pm saying they open at 3 (again with sign on the door saying 11 am open on Fridays).
