Actually gross...this place has gone downhill so quick. Ordered $40 of breakfast food/drink. I went to pickup my order and noticed the worker doing the food- who had really beautiful long, loosely curled hair, has no hair net on at all- after waiting at the designated pickup spot for several minutes before being acknowledged, I was given my food. My PB toast was so soggy when I went to pick up a piece, it's flopped and everything fell off. I then finally took a bite and pulled out a long, blonde hair which had to belong to the worker doing the food. One of the most mediocre coffee shops I've ever been to. The space itself is pretty cozy and the employees were friendly, but both of the coffees we ordered (a latte and a cold brew) tasted weak and watery. The breakfast sandwiches we ordered also came out wrong. We ordered the awakening sandwich, which the menu says comes with tomato, but neither of the sandwiches that came out had tomato on them. On top of this, they just were not good. The ham on the sandwich was cold, the cheese was unmelted, and the bacon was clearly the kind you put in the microwave to cook it, and for some reason tasted like a pickle. I don't know why this place has low stars cause it's really good. Came here with a friend for brunch and it didn't disappoint. I ordered The Awakening with no sausage. I asked if I could get a little more bacon to substitute and the cashier went and asked the cook so I wouldn't be charged since I wasn't getting sausage and there was already bacon on the sandwich. He didn't have to do so and I was very thankful he did. Tasted great too! The bagel was soft and easy to bite into and the sandwich as a whole was delicious. I paid $8.91 with tax which is a bit pricy but it was good so I was ok paying it. I thought the inside would be like a Dunkin but it was actually kind of homey. They have plenty of seating. In checking to look for a place for coffee on Easter Sunday I was so grateful to find out the brewed awakenings was open till 2 o'clock today and they had opened at six. So after delivering all of our baskets for our children and grandchildren we are taking a break and having a cuppa coffee and a nice fresh pistachio muffin and oatmeal raisin cookie. This is my second visit to a Brewed Awakenings, since I stopped at one in Johnston during the RI Food Fights iced coffee challenge. This branch is about 1/2 the size but had a similar feel - some restaurant-like tables and a space with more of that coffee shop easy chair vibe. The chain offers at least 8 daily flavored iced coffee flavors, several hot coffee (and iced or hot teas), pastries, and some breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is decent; the free WiFi and cozy seating made me happy sitting in both places to enjoy my treats. The cozy leather chairs here are comfortable - and seriously in need of reupholstering. Still, all in all, a good place to stop on the way out of Garden City, and I'll be visiting again! read more

I purposely avoid *the* Coffee behemoth and support local coffee shops, only to have had the most disappointing of experiences. I admit I'm an espresso snob at some level but espresso comes in Single or Double shots, yet the cashier was unable to comprehend (or offer) anything other than Small/Medium/Large option (was this a gas station or a dedicated Coffee shop I wondered?!) despite my best efforts to clarify. Assuming a "large" would somehow translate into something close to quad espresso I ordered that, only to find it was little more than a third of a 16 oz cup of strong (yet still) watery coffee (no espresso undertones even). Much like another recent reviewer, after the disappointment of ordering espresso I asked about the protein balls (if peanut butter was their base I wasn't interested, otherwise, probably) only to find the cashier's knowledge was limited to, they contained protein and were balls. Pro tip: When you advertise a unique item on billboards outside and posters inside your place of business - make sure your staff know *something* about them please. I rarely write a bad review for anywhere, but this place motivated me to try and help you save your time. read more

I dont understand how this place pass the health and sanitary regulation because the workers here clean the countertop (with unsafe bathroom cleaning products, collect cash payment, and make your food using the SAME glove! Yes, no wonder food here gives me major stomachaches. I had to ask the lady to change her gloves multiple times but imagine what they are doing to your food when you're not watching!!! 3.5 stars for average coffee but a beautiful interior with plenty of seating. They have a big screen if you want to watch football on Sundays and a bar counter for meals or coffee. The older man that works in the kitchen in your Cranston location is extremely rude. Please teach your Staff how to interact with the paying public. I was waiting for about 10 min for two breakfast sandwiches and he came out of the kitchen and i asked him to please check on the order. To which he replied "who are you?" By his tone of voice and his dissatisfaction on his face the only word missing in that question was (Fu##). 3 min later my sandwiches come out. I go in the car and they were made wrong. I work right next door to this location, and I have to say this place is pretty consistent in providing good coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I only get iced coffee, and it's probably time that I expand on flavors that I should try. The Awakening sandwich is excellent. The only other food item I've had is a plain bagel with cream cheese. I gave it four stars because there are a couple of employees who just don't really seem to know what they're doing. But those who have been there for awhile are quick and efficient and very friendly and know a lot of the customers by name. I'll continue getting my morning coffee and food from here. read more
