I've got to admit when I first came across the name Brewery Barber, I was sightly more than intrigued. I decided to call ahead. I should have figured the place was in the old brewery near the waterfront by the name. Close enough to where I was in the south end and if I can get a cut and a beard trim for twenty dollars I figured I would give them a try. This guys' shop was clean and simple and the barber looked close to my Dad's age so I figured he had done a few cuts in his life and knew what he was doing. Been a while since I'd seen a one man operation and I liked the small town feel of the place right away. As luck would have it, there was no wait. A quick assessment and off we went. Never seen anybody handle a clipper like that before. The guy said he started out back in the seventies and that I can believe. Twenty or so minutes later and everything was clean at the edges and looked just great. Just what I was looking for. I wasn't aware he didn't have a debit terminal, but there was an ATM in the restaurant across the hall... problem solved. Good banter and a real trip down memory lane. His shop was playing a radio station from Ohio that featured nothing but music from the sixteens and seventies. It was just like spending Saturday night with my folks. Best cut. No gimmicks, just fast efficient friendly service. The barber doesn't try and up sell his own products and will give cheap fix remedy's. I love the location in the brewery. Best of all this barber offers free neck touch ups between your appointments. I have never had someone provide this service and genuinely appreciate it when I have a meeting and do not require a full cut. Tip, just tell him what you like and let him work his magic. Eoin has been my barber for over 12 years even before he moved to the Brewery Market. As a veteran I like to have my hair cut in a particular way and Eoin always does a fantastic job.
