I told him when he explained that paper that I wanted to go home and think about it. Instead, he snuck it in and lied. So I was stuck with them regardless. Yes, they do fight for you, but depends on the area you live in. I live in a rural county, therefore I was expected to settle for less. Had I lived in Rock Island Country or Scott county, I would have gotten more. It's not right that they base it on the county. Just because it's rural, doesn't mean I'm blue collar. I'm a white collar worker, but due to the blue collar county, it played a role in my settlement. They do NOT reimburse you for what you pay out of pocket for medical expenses. I paid for my chiro bill out of pocket and because there was no outstanding bill, I did not get reimbursed. I drove a lot of miles due to my accident, did not get reimbursed for that either like I did in my previous accident. Nor did they care about the credit card I was forced to open by Mississippi Valley Surgical Center. So, there went over $1,500 out of my pocket that I was not reimbursed for either. I am now disabled in my hand for life and got a measly amount. Not sure if I would go back or not. If there is a next time, I will "shop" around first. The 3 people after the 1st lying guy were nice.
