The worker would not stop talking or let you talk. They kept talking about the store projects and their work phones and everything under the sun. I couldn't browse what they had because they would not stop talking. It was hard to even leave the store because they would NOT stop talking. I kept asking for my bag back so I could leave. (when you walk in they place it behind the counter.) The pricing is ridiculous. Horrible condition books/manga that aren't even worth $4 they sell for $19 STARTING. Better off finding a half priced book store in the other surrounding towns ! Or eBay! The worker said they don't look at pricing online they base it on how old the book is. So even a book that was from 2021 is way overpriced. Go in at your own risk but be ready for an ear full and not being able to talk. I'd recommend not bringing in any bags so you don't get stuck trying to ask for it back like I did. read more

In 14 years of writing Yelp reviews I have never had to give so much thought to what I want to write about a business. One moment I want to give it one star, well, maybe three, but maybe two? What I don't want to do is trash this place unnecessarily. But maybe I do? See, it's complicated. When you walk in the door it is like a sea of books, in boxes, on display, stacked everywhere, on shelves, on tables. On the surface you think, 'Wow! Look at all the books!", looking around you realize that even though some of it is categorized, a nearly equal amount is not. These are the books in stacks on tables and in file boxes. We browsed along the clutter, even found a few books we were interested in. All the while this guy was working in the bookstore, barely taking note of our existence, which was okay. We finally approached him and asked about buying the small books we picked out. That is where things went a little sideways. The owner could not tell what the prices were as he moved to find a pricing sheet. He mentioned something about the age of the book, and spent a fair amount of time looking over the books to get an idea of their age. He said all prices were negotiable, and kept talking about age, some kind of universal pricing guide, and whatnot. All the while he is wearing a lanyard with a Venmo QR code, tells us he takes cash, checks and Venmo only. Another couple was in the store and asked a question while we were trying to check out and his full attention went to them, for over four minutes. Finally he turned back and fiddled with a calculator and came up with some prices that seemed too high for what we picked out. We know a few things about books too. It was just getting too surreal, we politely declined to purchase from him and made a quick exit. It really was a shame, the store is packed some great finds, it is a great place to paw through the shear volume of books. The problem lies in dealing with the owner, and his pricing methods. read more

Good bookstore, lots of books to look at, and a bit unorganized which makes it fun to "hunt and find" particular interests. There's only one bookstore expert, who was very informative about all things "books". I found most books to be pricey since some books we purchased had no price tags, or was an old library book, or had an "OBO" which we weren't given a chance to bargain or "haggle " in his words. The place looks really cool, I have been in there twice but I have never gotten past the front lobby. The owner is very talkative and the conversation goes on too long for me to actually browse and shop around. I usually end up attempting to browse the front lobby awkwardly while trapped in conversation before simply leaving. read more

They have an extensive collection of books you can't find in other bookstores. Plus there was a cute dog!

Bookstore is very cute and well kept. When I entered no one greeted me or offered to help. I found it odd but just kept browsing. After 15 mins of browsing I pulled out my phone to jot down the name of a book since I saw it was an audiobook. I WAS going to grab another book to purchase since I had found a couple of books I found interesting. The employee rushed out of her seat and asked if I was taking pictures then proceeded to tell me that if I only wanted to look at titles to then to go to a library. The whole atmosphere was very off putting. I've never experienced anything like this especially at a bookstore. Very disappointed. read more

Another great bookstore with a large selection of books, magazines and other items. The employees are nice and have a lot of knowledge about books and their selection. Prices are decent. They also had a small selection of free books (mainly how-to) and VHS tapes outside their storefront. This is another must-see in Ellensburg. read more

Huge thumbs up. It is a relatively small shop, but there is a lot of quality here. I found to obscure books that I have been looking for for years and got them at an embarrassingly good price. This place is a highlight for any book lover. read more

Second time going to store, a year apart from the first visit. A nice store with lots of cool books, could spend a while browsing. Not sure if it's under new management, lots of changes and didn't see the same worker, found the new gentleman bit off putting. read more
