We went the other night with 8 people seated right on time. I had the palm beach salad and thought it was good and my spoise had a steak and thought it was good. There was a mix of other dishes and nobody complained. The service was good with the i ly blemish was the time it itool to get a draft beer not the servers fault but maybe because the bar was busy I want to compliment the resturant for how they did the bill and mandatory gratuity. The bills had a stamp on it saying the gratuity was included i thought that was a nice touch. We ate on the patio and it was lovely. Overall i want to come back and try a few more dishes read more

My husband and I and several friends have been regulars for years. But all are in agreement that the food has gone significantly downhill. Last weekend we ordered calamari on the appetizer menu. We sent it back immediately. The food was dry, cold and had clearly been fried HOURS before. Multiple pieces were not even calamari, but fried banana peppers. I found it offensive that they would serve up such total garbage. That's the case for other appetizers and all of the sushi rolls, which used to be so good. A group of 7 of us went to Bricktop's on a Monday night. We made reservations and were seated when we arrived. This was my first time visiting this establishment. Our service was very slow and had to go find our waitress a couple of times. I ordered the Palm Beach Salad which is crab, shrimp, dice tomato and Avocado stacked next to mixed lettuce. It came out looking beautiful. The taste didn't measure up. There was so much avocado it overpowered all the other ingredients. The salad wasn't worth the $26 price in my opinion. Fancy dancy place that would be great for a date night. A bit on the pricey side. Server was super friendly and gave recommendations. You could tell they also loved the food. Steak was perfectly done to our order, so much flavor. Potato was decadent but the skin needed some more salt. Server recommended the verte sauce and it did not disappoint. My go-to takeout, meet up & happy hour spot. Ambiance inside includes spacious dining sections, dimly lit booths & tables as well as a bar area. Service is usually prompt & friendly. I enjoy the grilled artichoke, calamari. fresh oysters, trout or grilled salmon. Rarely do I deviate from these items because they are all pretty unbeatable. Located at the Clayton entrance on Plaza Frontenac. There's outside seating during pleasant weather months & cozy options in the brutal cold. Plenty of parking on the open lot. I didn't take any pictures but the presentation was very nice. All of our meals looked and tasted great. The cocktails were just ok but this place was hoping. Very busy for a week night so they must be doing something right. I've eaten here several times over the years and my meals have always been tasty. Service was good but not great. We were greeted courteously upon entering. Food was excellent as was the service. I had the Prime Rib which is tender and delicious. Rest of our party enjoyed their food. Our server was excellent and checked on us, during our meal. One exception: The- young lady, hostess who showed us to our table never smiled, nor spoke and seemed very aloof. I have never been to this restaurant and was wowed by the dining experience! There is a very exciting energy throughout the restaurant. I love the spaciousness and the way it is designed. The ambiance was very inviting and romantic or for a party of friends. I was introduced to the most delicious deviled eggs I have ever tasted along with hickory smoked and maple honey (millionaire) bacon!! The grilled halibut and sauteed spinach was very delicious. The halibut just melted in my mouth with a lot of flavors, there was bearnaise sauce on the side, which added the extra touch. The service was impeccable! Our water was continuously refilled. I dare you to find me better steak and eggs! I've been coming here for a few years now and have had both breakfast and dinner. Let me be the first to say, neither disappoint! I usually sit at the bar when I go and am always greeted promptly. There's ample space, so you shouldn't have an issue getting a seat and still having room. Out of all the dishes I've had, the steak and eggs reign supreme. The steak is tender and juicy, the eggs are cooked perfectly and well seasoned and the English muffin is plain good. Bricktop's is always consistent with their food and service and it makes a difference that the staff is friendly, too. I think the food is great for the price point and overall, this is one of my favorite brunch spots! read more

On the way back from Clayton we wanted to stop a the mall in Frontenac for lunch and decided on BrickTop's and boy what a great choice. We felt a little underdressed (shorts & t-shirt) but not out of place, next time maybe a polo shirt. The burgers were delicious. We both had the Tavern burgers and fries. I had a bowl of lobster bisque and it was very good, nice size chunks of lobster and came with rolls and butter. Service was excellent and staff were very attentive. Restaurant was very clean, white table cloths and napkins. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back, many more menu items to try. read more

Went for a birthday celebration. The place was busy with homecoming and were prepared for it! We were seated close to our reservation time and quickly waited on. The appetizers of calamari and spinach dip were good. The Parmesan Halibut was fantastic. Only disadvantage of the Halibut was it didn't include a side. For the price, and the small side, I'm not sure it's worth an additional $8. Compared to other restaurants and the price points, an $8 side would be family style size. This wasn't. Our server wasn't over burdening us but was there every time we needed something. Parking is easy in the large lot. Reservations probably recommended. All in all - I'll go back! I'd never been here before but it was a suggestion as a place for us three old friends to meet for dinner. The place was fairly busy for an early-ish dinner but we were seated quickly. Our waitress was patient with us, as we were more involved in conversation than in deciding what we wanted to eat. We did finally order and our food arrived quickly. We got fried Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and our entrees were a steak, a chicken dish, and a burger with fries -- a fair cross-section of items. We didn't get drinks but got the strawberry shortcake as dessert. All in all, the meal was just average, nothing outstanding, nothing really bad. Our waters were kept filled, the waitress checked on us periodically but one friend's leftovers were inadvertently dumped. (The waitress said the kitchen would remake it.) I paid for the appetizer and dessert plus my steak for a total of almost $80. I think for the cost, I could do better elsewhere. I won't return. read more

I treated my cousin to brunch for her birthday. The wait wasn't long which was great. The setting was busy as usual on a Sunday. However, I was so upset with myself. I LOVE Bricktops malted waffle but decided to try the crab benedict. DISAPPOINTED is an understatement. The dish came out with what looked like a sprinkle of crab on top of my eggs. I usually LOVE their potatoes but they were just ok on this visit. I struggled to eat my meal. The crab was fishy. Not fresh at all. Their service is very good. we couldn't have been happier with our server. He was very attentive and polite. However, the food left quite a bit to be desired. Nothing was subtle. Everything seemed like it came frozen. The salmon probably frozen not fresh. Fish tacos? Seemed like frozen fish sticks that were seasoned and cooked. This isn't to say that any of it is bad or offensive. It just isn't great. it's a pretty decent place to go grab a meal - but it isn't somewhere that I would go on a date again nor would I go out of my way to eat here. I went here for lunch with my coworkers one day and it was a great experience. The customer service (host, server, and everyone else) was on point, even though they were extremely busy. I felt like they went above and beyond at this restaurant to make sure we were satisfied, which stood out to me in such a positive way. The bread pudding (not pictured) was phenomenal!! I've never thought "hmm, I could really go for some bread pudding at the moment", but damn... that thought will cross my mind now, after trying theirs. The buttery crab sushi (I forgot its official name) was amazing as well. You dip the sushi roll into a buttery sauce (or is it just melted butter? Either way, so good) instead of soy sauce. Our table was a little uncomfortable, but it was a busy evening so I'm sure utilizing all the space was necessary! Whether it's a date night or working lunch Bricktop's is solid. You will always have wonderful and accommodating service here. Our meals and drinks from the bar came quickly and the waiter was knowledgeable about wine choices. The Crabcake is my favorite it's nice and full of crab not breading like some places. My fiancé got the Seabass and it was very delicious. I got the Chicken Milanese, I wasn't really a fan of this but it was well presented and hot. What I thought would be a night of whining and complaining after losing my job due to layoffs, turned into a night of good vibrations, wining, and dining thanks to Bricktops. There was no time for crying with James as our server. He was absolutely fantastic. He was very attentive and knew how to talk my language since I'm very particular when it comes to getting my food right. Did I say the food was superb!! I'm not much of a drinker but I started with a Pear Margarita which was a little too sweet for me but James quickly swapped it out for a Cadillac Margarita. Let's put it this way, you will not be able to complain about not tasting the alcohol. They know how to pour it on if you like nice strong drinks. I started with Yum Yum and Hollywood Sushi. Both were delicious with Hollywood being my favorite. Now to the highlight of this evening. I ordered a Cowboy Ribeye. Let me tell you, this was the best steak I have ever had in my life and I mean EVER!!! It was cooked to perfection, perfectly medium while leaning more towards medium rare as ordered. They got it right! It literally melted in my mouth. Omg!!! It was so good I couldn't even cry about spending $88 on what I thought was a $50 steak. Worth every penny!! The Corn Pudding is a must have. By the time we ordered the second round, they had already sold out. Don't drag your feet on this dish. I never got around to trying the deviled eggs, but I hear they are the best! I topped off my night with a super moist bread pudding with caramel and cream sauce that I could only pack to go. Needless to say, this was an expensive but fantastic bon voyage celebration with a group of wonderful ladies. Bricktops has become one of my top go to restaurants. I love Bricktop's . I miss the Bloody Mary bar but the food is always good. My favorite is the chicken and waffles but everything is great.

My friend and I met here for a weeknight dinner recently. We were so impressed with the service. We sat at the bar. The late staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The restaurant was crowded, but they still made us feel completely welcomed and taken care of. The manager even stopped by our table to say hello and see how our meal was. The devil eggs really hit!!! It was served on what I believe is honey drizzled bacon. Omg!! Forget spinach dip, get devil eggs! Main course was ok, chicken bristo needed a bit more salt and i wish the loaded potato was warmer. Overall taste was not terrible, potato was soft and fluffy. I really enjoyed the bread pudding as it was a soft smooth texture on eating. Brussel sprouts really spoiled it for me, it was too bittier. Service was good overall. read more

Incredibly consistent 5 star quality of delicious fare, white table cloth service, and inviting ambiance. For an extraordinary date, or a memorable family outing, you simply cannot miss. It's a fantastic way to delight all of your senses. Just try not to be distracted by those who dress as if going to a Denny's. Luckily, they are few in number :), but somehow they cannot seem to muster the respect that such a fine establishment has earned. 4 of us had dinner to celebrate my birthday. We were promptly seated because we had reservations. Service was quick so we ordered drinks and an appetizer, deviled eggs with millionaire bacon! What a great appetizer it is! The bacon is cut thick and served sweet but not too sweet. The deviled eggs are tangy. We all ordered the cedar planked Salmon which was delicious and hot when it arrived at our table. The ambiance is perfect for a group of four adults conversing. The service is good, not intrusive. I did not pay the bill so I can't comment on the value of the meal. I will return for future meals. read more

Had dinner here last night. We were a large party (10+) with reservations. Our table was small and everyone was packed in closely. Staff went around the table and took our orders. Never collected our menus so we had a pile of them on the table until one of our party went around and collected them and delivered back to the front. Food took an hour to deliver. Tasted ok. Kids were given ice cream without spoons. The table next to us emptied and there was a pile of Plackers Dental Flossie's next to the used dinner plates. The table wasn't cleared and cleaned for thirty minutes. Management didn't seem to care. Bill was over $1k. Terrible experience and not worth the investment of time and money. So many better places to eat in STL. read more
