I do not recommend anyone using this service or shop.
The dresses themselves are very nice but the service is really shocking. I bought 5 bridesmaid dresses in March 2012. I ordered an accessory and it was a totally different colour when it arrived. The owner was uncompromising and informed me that I could not get a refund from Dessy, the supplier. At no time was I told this when ordering and consequently lost £18.
One of my younger bridesmaids was going through puberty at the time she was measured. 6 months later when she collected the dress, it was too small as her body had changed. We were informed that it would be £90 for alterations. These figures were not given to us at the time of ordering the dresses. This resulted in the mother of the bridesmaid in question asking whether this figure could be reduced. Again the owner was uncompromising, therefore my bridesmaid used another seamstress.
A couple of weeks later, my sister, chief bridesmaid, came in for her scheduled appointment and was verbally abused by the staff and made to leave. The owner insisted she had informed me that the appointment had been cancelled, which was totally untrue. It appears that the owner did not appreciate the mother of my bridesmaid making her feelings known about the expense of the alterations and therefore had put a blanket ban on assisting anyone from my wedding party. I must reiterate that I was never informed of this.
My sister was devastated and left without a dress two weeks before my wedding. She had paid for a train ticket to come up from London especially for the fitting and would now have to take half a day's holiday from work to arrange and attend a fitting in London.
Bridal shops are meant to sell and create dreams, but this shop and highly unprofessional service has caused heartache and upset, as well as causing financial loss of about £200.
Using Hannah Lois Bride to Be has been a really horrible and stressful experience and I would urge people to stay away if you do not want to pay over the odds and go through what I did. read more
