Ummmm....yea....this place is delicious. Usually when I encounter a restaurant boasting tortilla soup, it's never as delicious as a homemade batch. Searching for that perfect spice level and robust flavors in a good amount of ingredients - I always seem to miss the mark. Nevertheless, I took a shot on Brider. Spicy and flavorful doesn't begin to describe this chicken tortilla soup. And it didn't stop there! Then came the avocado and sweet potato salad, which was more like a bowl powerfully packed with goodies like toasted peanuts and Thai vinaigrette dressing. I'm also ashamed to admit I was stuffed from the soup that I didn't have enough room for the salad, but then I wouldn't have known how delicious it was - even if I only had a few bites. You can tell every ingredient they cook with is the best quality and they take pride in the freshness of their food. They also had a pretty strong showing of baked goods and a cocktail list, too! I get carryout a lot, and even if something was left out or messed up (we are only human), which is rare, they always make up for it or correct it. Especially Rob the manager, great staff. Upon walking in..... crickets..... Beyond the staff, we were the only customers in the restaurant. Normally, I would see this is a potential red flag, but I couldn't help but be drawn in by the encouraging photos and reviews I saw. I am so grateful we stayed! We ordered at the counter, then grabbed a table and were brought our dishes. I ended up having the Cajun Blue Shrimp Sandwich with the Pear and Gorgonzola Salad. Oh my word were they outstanding! All four of us were obsessed with our meals, and my boyfriend has said multiple times that he wants to go back. If I were ever to leave Denver, there are a handful of dishes I would crave and long for, and the sweet potato avocado salad at Brider is one of them!!! It's an unlikely marriage of flavors coming together to have a party! It is absolutely delicious and always leaves me feeling satisfied and energized in that way nutritious food does. The Brussels are also delicious sometimes a little overly saucy, but super delicious and worth sharing with friends. Everything else I've had has been solid, but the salad and Brussels are amazing. Brider is now one of the places that I bring friends to who are visiting Denver. In terms of ambiance, the aesthetic is clean and casual, and because you order at the register, it makes for a great spot for groups and isn't usually a hassle in tens of wait. Yum! I had the chicken bahn mi sandwich with a side of roasted Brussels sprouts and it was deeeelicious. The chicken was moist and flavorful. My friend (and fellow Yelper) had the meatballs and polenta - I was a little jealous watching her scoop up the creamy polenta. Another friend had the waygu beef french dip, and I was more than just a little jealous -- after having a taste, I was hoping she'd step away from the table so I could steal half of it. When you walk into this place, it's bright and airy- it has a bit of a hipstery vibe but it's nice and clean and then that's sort of where the good experience ended for me. The food was just not good. My friend ordered a Brussels sprouts salad and she said it was incredibly flavorless. I ordered the flank steak medium with the kale and potatoes and the potatoes were like still hard and not flavorful at all, it was kind of too soupy and the kale was like drenched in a sodium covered chicken broth. It was really strange and the meat was kind of tough. It's quite possible that we didn't get the right thing in terms of entree, but the place seems like a cool place to drink or go to study. read more

First things first - Get. The. Brussel. Spouts. 5 stars just for the Brussel Sprouts! My boyfriend and I were dog sitting so decided to try this place for a quick bite since it had a dog friendly patio. The ambiance is cute with a giant chalk board wall menu and a few items up for display at the counter where you place your order. We decided to split an Italian sandwich and between the sweet potato tots and Brussels, the girl at the counter recommended the Brussels (but only slightly better, she said). The sandwich was decent, but I probably wouldn't order it again - will probably try the waygu beef of rotisserie Bahn mi next. Sandwich came with a side of hand cut potato chips which were very good. The star of the show was the Brussels with teriyaki glaze. For just $6 you get a very generous portion and they are amazing! Will definitely order again! May even just get some to go as a side when cooking at home, they are that good! There are definitely lots of yummy options available, including brunch and a great happy hour deal. So good. We've eaten there twice in the last 2 weeks. Some reviewers say the sandwiches are on the expensive side. But $10-$14 is not unreasonable given the quality of ingredients: try not thinking of it in the same category as 'egg salad sandwich' or 'PBJ.' Wagyu sandwich for $14 was outstanding. (As an aside, there is question about whether some American Wagyu cuts are legitimately Wagyu. In this case, I have no idea, but I have no qualms with the cut.) The meatball/polenta bowl (at $13) features the lightest polenta you've ever had (lots of ricotta... some pooling oil, though)--as well as the highly regarded meatballs from their sister restaurant. I was shocked that it was easy to get in at 6:30pm Saturday night for Restaurant Week. (Their 4 course meal was a ridiculous deal.) Eat here while you can. When all that damn residential construction in that neighborhood, demand should surge in the coming months. One suggestion: I don't like tipping at the beginning of the meal. I also don't want to stiff the wait staff. But since it's counter service, I also don't think standard 15-20% tip rates apply. An easy mechanism for tipping at end of meal (other than cash) would be nice. Or maybe a 10ish% up front service charge so there's no ambiguity. Ambiguity about whether you're 'doing the right thing' adds unnecessary stress to a great meal. read more

Brider has a casual, modern, industrial feel and wonderful food without the pretense. Brider is in the same family as Oak and Acorn. The food is definitely on par with those standards but this restaurant's vibe and set-up is quite different. You walk up to the counter and order and they bring your food. I guess you might call it "fast-casual" but I feel like it's a little classier than that. The food is wonderful, their focus is the rotisserie... so their chicken is wonderful and juicy, they also offer porcetta and lamb as well as fish for their more dinner oriented plates. They also have a huge variety for breakfast and Lunch, which seems to be their forte. Tons of sandwiches and several salad options as well. I ordered the shaved brussel sprout cesar with a farm egg and parmesan crouton sprinkled over, I added chicken and loved it! I want to try the Kale and apple next and the sweet potato avocado salad also looked wonderful My bf ordered the waygu beef french dip with mustard & horseradish aioli, gruyere, au jus Gluten Free and he loved it! I got a small cup of squash soup that was pretty amazing, had some crushed pistachios and a little sweet jam swirled in the top. Very unique but good. Since it was pie day I went with a slice of salted chocolate pie. I liked it enough but wish the chocolate was a bit less dense. I'm still giving them 5 stars because most people come here for sandwiches and beer and they definitely are tops on that front. I adore Brider. Not only are they located on the adorable Platte Street (and just a walk across the bridge away from both Downtown and LoHi-- perfect date day stroll), but their food and ambiance stand out from the rest of their neighborhood options. I love how Brider's menu is a little more sophisticated than some other fast casual eateries. But still easy. Order at the counter, find a cozy place to sit and wait for the food to be brought to you. We wanted to sit outside, but seems like the patio is the most popular place to sit on a nice day like today. The Turkey, Bacon, & Avocado sandwich is super delicious. Buttery sourdough bread, house rotisserie turkey, with a coffee bacon jam (that I wasn't sure I would like, but ended up thoroughly enjoying). Plus tons of avo! My husband liked his Wagyu Beef French Dip, but the bread was a little too tough and hard to bite into. It doesn't state on the menu that the sandwiches come with (I'm assuming housemade) potato chips, so we decided to order a side of mac and cheese to share. So glad we did! Super creamy and tasty. We ended up having way too much food, but are happy to have leftovers for later! Oh, and use that check in offer for the free chocolate chip cookie. It was too good! I also got an americano which was rich and complex - they did a great job pulling shots from quality beans - you could taste it. The yelp checkin also won me a free chocochip cookie, which was, honestly, perfect. While everyone was friendly and corrected the issues, the first coffee that came out was incorrect, (though quickly replaced), they brought out the pretzel to go (but I was eating in) and they forgot the cookie (but it was free, so it didn't bother me.) A little too much dressing; if you're not a fan of too much dressing, get it on the side. This slow cooked beef dunked in a warm, beefy broth will make your mouth happy. Double up with a friend and be sure to try the Bahn mi. Traditional Bahn mi comes with a bun that feels like it was made last year. Briders bun feels like it just slid out of an oven onto your plate. It's extended outdoor seating gives you a great view of the hustle and bustle of the area - bikers, walkers, shoppers, beer drinkers. It's an array of people watching representing Denver's finest. With one look at your watch, you'll be sure to keep an eye on your meter. You'll be hard pressed to find a decent parking spot in this area. In fact, I weathered 45 minutes of traffic and another 10 looking for a spot. All is well and worth it once you sit down, relax, and dive into their specialities. This place has some of the best salads in town. We had the sweet potato/avocado and the kale/apple salad with chicken. I would have one of those salads every day for lunch if I could. My husband had the lamb sandwich and it was also amazing. We also tried the gluten free chocolate chip cookie. They warmed it up for us and we downed it in minutes. I planned the start to my Saturday based on ensuring that it included lunch at Brider. After a quick beer at Denver beer Co (across the street) my journey began. I landed on the roasted lamb sandwich and I'm glad I did. Ever bite was perfection. The harissa gave it a little kick of heat. Three thumbs up. Don't go looking for the dollar menu as my sandwich was $14 but in my opinion was worth it. Expect, with an adult beverage, to spend between $20-$25 per person.
