John J. indicated that we should eat ahead of time. He provided a great tip. I planned to eat earlier in the day but, missed the opportunity and wound up fending for myself at this restaurant. The food is OK, I discussed the menu with our server. The menu changes frequently, this evening it seems the food choices were limited to sliders, cheese plates and salads. We did not go hungry, the veggie sliders were tasty, the cheese and meat plates were nicely presented and quite good. The servers were pleasant. A great live artist was playing Eilen Jewell and her band. She has a guitarist that rocks it, drummer and bass fiddle. I love the bass fiddle - he plays it indie style / rhythm an blues. Can't describe it really. They play some Loretta Lynn music and some of their own creations as well. Definitely worth a listen. We had awesome seats very near the stage and the wait staff was attentive, making the experience more enjoyable. Great venue for live music. Highly recommend, I also recommend you eat a real meal before you go and enjoy an appetizer or two while at the show.

Amazing venue with great food. What more can one really ask for? In addition you get the beautiful (weather permitting) patio.

Lisa's Crown and Hammer is a little bit confusing…read more Is this a pub that serves high end food, or is this a bougie restaurant trying to be a pretty good pub? Confusion lie, as we walked in the main entrance, and there was no person to see us. Do we just go in and sit down? Do we walk into the pub and sit there? After a minute or two wait, a server came and sat us in the fireplace room. Menus were waiting for us along with the daily specials on this Sunday. The dinner specials were few and far between, and we passed on them I ordered a Lisa's Crown and Hammer chicken sandwich, which came with french fries fries according to the menu, and my dear friend, ordered the Reuben, with french fries We passed on drinks as water was supplied, and neither of us felt like drinking. The food arrived in decent time. My friend only ate half of a Reuben, and some of the french fries. She said th sandwich was OK. My Lisa's crown and hammer sandwich was pretty decent, and I felt the french fries were well seasoned but soggy. I ate half the sandwich and took most of the french fries home. I'm kind of disappointed, as after spending time at the Christmas tree show and raffle at the Collinsville Historic Society, lunch would be so appropriate to end the lovely visit in Collinsville at Crown and Hammer I guess it's travel at your own risk here. Hit or miss. Service was OK, but it seemed like the server disappeared for long periods of time and the place really wasn't busy. I also noticed there were two or three servers taking care of guest in the small place The pub was hopping, I'm not sure if it was locals or visitors to Collinsville, but it looks like everyone was having a good time in there. Prices were on point, as I think the Bill was around $40 with tip. The menu does have sandwiches and sides along with the high-end dishes. Personally, I would lose the high-end dishes. I will come back again, maybe not soon. Collinsville is an awesome place to visit. So quaint, so inviting, so much to do. It's just too bad that Crown and Hammer missed the mark

I'm very excited to write the first review for Tire Biter because I love them--they made my wedding…read moreso great. I was married in November 2007, we had Tire Biter play all the music-they were simply great. It started out when I visited La Renaissance for a 2nd tour, I'd already booked them and was checking out the set-up for a wedding that was going on that evening, I believe it was November 2006. Jeff Ladd was setting up to be a DJ that night, he mentioned he was in band also--we took his card. My mom said the name of the band he saidhe was in sounded familiar... On Thanksgiving my mom mentioned it to a friend and they were like "Heck yes I know who they are!" Tirebiter has apparently been well known for 20+ years! (sorry I was 22 at the time and had never heard of them) This got my Mom all excited, she in turn got me all excited....we called Jeff, who told us to call Cheryl and we booked them for my wedding. I gotta say, they're really not that much more $$ than a DJ--but they're 10 times better. We really impressed a lot of people with a band...a well known band--people were coming up to me all night saying they had seen Tire Biter play at a bar or concert at some point :) I also really appreciated Cheryl Scott's professionalism, I was a ditzy 22 year old bride who didn't always return phone calls and make deadlines--she walked me through the process so that everything went smoothly and perfect. Thanks again Cheryl.

Takeout Review: I…read morealways drive by this place, so I decided to check it out finally. Coming from Rhode Island, I love my fresh seafood. The parking lot was spacious and always packed. The restaurant is nautical themed and it's not a fancy place but definitely a homey place. The service was great with ordering and picking up takeout. The prices were a little higher for the dinner options; I understand the situation, due to inflation and fresh seafood is usually more pricey. For starters, I had to try out their thick and creamy New England clam chowder; it was not the best I've ever had but it was a 3.5/5. My main meal was the crab cake sandwich and fries; it came with lettuce, tomato, red onion, and spicy delta tarter sauce. The crab cake was deep fried and perfectly crunchy. The fries were one of the best takeout fries I've had, it's was super crispy even after picking it up and driving home with it. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our meals!

The clam chowder was a bit over thickened, though was passable I would give it a grade of C. The classic fish sandwich came with cheese on it, which may be a bit unusual, but was fairly good. The whole belly fried clams were pretty good but for $35 was not a reason to come back. Overall, I would say that for a $64 lunch with a $10 tip. It was pricey and not positively memorable. The service was good in a restaurant that was not terribly busy at 1:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday.
