VIBE: Cute local pub restaurant located in the quality inn. There were 6 tables surrounding a bar with a pool table. Very local bar feel. Cute. Kid friendly. Not what you would expect to find as a restaurant in a hotel at all. They had a waitress and a a guy working which appeared to be the manager or owner- both very nice. I could tell he was very proud of the food and the restaurant. Food: We tried the grill cheese sandwiches- which comes with potato chips, or you can change to fries or sweet potato fries. We ordered one of each. The grill cheese is 3 layers of bread perfectly cooked and buttered. One of the three grill cheeses didn't have fully melted cheese, but it was still good. The chips are a ruffle potato chip. I agreed with the other reviews about the fries- they are very heavily seasoned. The reviews didn't phase me bc we like seasoned fries, but it was way too much for us. It's a great flavor, it's just so so much. We didn't receive the sweet potato fries, we were served the regular one for that entree too. The chili is a sweet thick not runny chili. I really enjoyed it and can't say I've had anything similar. It was a bit too sweet for my mom - personal preference. The portion was very generous, and too large for me to eat alone. I would order this again for sure. We saw the burgers come out for another table and that's what I would order next time. They looked awesome! Service: It's slow. I say this bc if you're in a hurry passing through it's not a fast grab you might expect in a hotel. It's a more sit and have a beer and chill for a while spot. The waitress was also gone with our credit card for a really long time- Long enough it was sus and we needed to cancel it. We finally asked her for our credit card back she said she had put the credit card in the machine left it there and and forgot about it. There were only 3 tables sat total in the whole place, and she wasn't buzzing around slammed or anything. Why would she ever walk away from our card if she were slammed? She also mixed up the fries, and forgot a salad we ordered, and were charged for. (the manager to take it off the bill.) I don't know what to think. I would recommend paying cash just Incase. If it weren't for the credit card issue, I would have really enjoyed my visit and given 5 stars. read more

We walked in this "fine" establishment recommended by the front desk clerk. After setting our bags down in our room from a long a trip, we walked into the bar to get a drink for the night. We couldn't even order a drink due to the fact that they announced last call before we got there. Keep in mind, this was well over an hour before it closed. The bartender tried offering us 1 quick beer as he was attending over guest with their choice of drinks. It seems as they had favorites from the locals in this town. I would've thought they would have treated the tourist with respect and hospitality. The hotel was amazing but would not recommend this bar. If you want drinks, try your nearest convenience store. read more

Stopped in for some beers while staying at a local hotel on the night of 12/28/21. This was the first time I've visited a West Virginia bar. The people I interacted with were welcoming and friendly! One patron I spoke to resided in the same county I'm from in Arizona. West Virginia hospitality for sure! Love the West Virginia accent! Bartender attentive; she did a great job! This grill/ bar was clean and organized. Attached to the Quality Inn, another hotel chain very close by. I took notice of food coming from the kitchen. Saw a patron get a personalized pizza, which appeared to rival a pizza chain. I didn't review the food menu; however, if I hadn't had a decent sized snack en route to the area, I would've ordered. Yes, it is a limited menu, but it's a beer pub with brats. Great atmosphere, with outdoor seating. Can't wait to stop here in nicer weather. A huge garage door that opens to make the whole place open air. Brats are delicious, and a selection of chips to add to your meal. The piece de resistance is enjoying a flight of beers. Seems to be a nice stop to grab a bite to eat and shoot some pool. They did not have any Malibu Rum, and no hamburgers. We ordered a garden salad, grilled cheese, onion rings and the brier fries. The order took so long to get and there was no one in there but us. I am unsure if they are deep frying with the original oil but the fries and onion rings where over cooked and had a bad taste. The fries were so bad we had to give them back and had them taken off. They didn't even carry quarters to play their pool tables, you had to get change from the hotel front desk. This place is inside the Brier Inn, which is a Quality Inn motel, so it has no storefront identification. It is, however, excellent. Our burger and Philly were delicious. The fries couldn't be better and the onion rings were some of the best I ever had. The drinks were hi-test, if you know what I mean. I don't understand why the place isn't busy except it was not listed in Yelp to attract the I-64 traffic...until now. It is easily better than either the nearby Appleby's and Ruby Tuesday's. read more

Sorry to leave such a poor review...we ate here a couple of years ago while staying at the Quality Inn. It was great! Not so much tonight. I ordered a salad. The mushrooms on the salad should have been thrown out about two weeks ago. Then my guest and I split Nachos. How do you burn ground beef on Nachos? They were awfiul. Will not be going back. Great little find, right off the i64, got gas and needed a close fast dinner. they are inside the Quality Inn, so no sign out front, but glad we found it! Burger was one of the beat we have had in any restaurant, fries were over seasoned for me, but i suppose some like them that way. Full bar with all the options needed for a large variety of cocktails! I visit the area each year for an event and stay at the quality inn, located on the same premises as this bar. I have to say that each year I stop in , I say to myself I will never go back, I do in the hopes that the service will be better and the staff and manager will not be rude. Each time I get shocked that it is worse each time. How can it be that a place such as this has been able to allow a manager to be so disrespectful to customers and it seems a laughing joke in the town.
