Four weeks ago, I was so happy to find Kaffeehaus Morgenrot after a business meeting North of…read moreBerlin. I know various traditional Viennese coffee houses like Café Schwarzenberg, Demel, Café Diglas or L. Heiner in Vienna. Now, I have the same atmosphere and quality products (!) here nearby Berlin. I visited Kaffeehaus Morgenrot about three to four times since my first discovery and I always enjoy a very friendly, professional barista (the owner) with kind, warm-hearted service.
The coffee like e.g. a Wiener Melange (German for "Viennese Blend") takes you straight to Vienna; it is excellent quality, tasteful and delicious. Of course, I tried the "Kaiserschmarrn" (cut-up and sugared pancake with raisins), and it fully met my expectations. I ate my best "Kaiserschmarrn" years ago at Demel in Vienna, and the "Kaiserschmarrn" at Kaffeehaus Morgenrot doesn't need to hide away. If you ever visit this place, please take the time, and - if available - give the "Märchentorte" (chocolate cake) a try. It is amazing and literally a "Märchen" or fairy tale! If "Märchentorte" isn't available I am sure you find tasty alternatives such as "Esterházy-Torte", "Maria-Theresia-Torte", "Stachelbeer-Baiser-Tarte"... - the list is long and invites you to come back and try a new cake alongside best quality coffee.
Kaffeehaus Morgenrot may be a little bit more expensive than an average coffee shop, but it certainly pays off.
