I'm thrilled that Distinctive Cleaning & Restoration used all their TLC to return it to like-new condition. They uniquely have huge equipment to shake years of dirt loose before cleaning and drying. Ross Restoration charged us almost double what they quoted us. They never gave us any indication…read morethat the project was going over budget and there was no work change request or anything to show extra work was needed. I understand a small variance between quote and final invoice but this goes beyond that. They refused to negotiate the final invoice. Terrible service, do not recommend. The owner responded saying my problem is with insurance. It is not. My insurance is treating me fairly and paying the claim. My problem is with the bad faith estimate that was provided to me by Ross Restoration. I think his response shows their lack of ownership of when they make mistakes in their work. There are regulations that are supposed to prevent surprise billing and it is reasonable that consumers shouldn't expect more than a 10% difference between estimate and final bill. His response is a great example of why I do not recommend them.

Arrived a bit earlier than scheduled, but they called first to see if it was okay (it was). They asked the right questions about what goes where, what gets thrown out and what gets saved. Basement was in a major (bad) state, and this was the first step in getting it cleaned out. And being an old guy, I couldn't do it myself. They did an excellent job all around. When they explained why they couldn't move out one large piece (a work bench that they said had been assembled in the basement) they offered to move it out of the way so the cleaners would be able to work efficiently. They did everything right. They did it efficiently and effectively and courteously. They were helpful, and understanding, and very very careful with the stuff I needed to save (for family/memories). I would hire them again in a heartbeat. In fact, I may need to call them again next year to move some stuff out of the UPstairs! Hire these folks. You won't be sorry.
