5 star reviewed turned into one star. I was a first time patient here a couple months back and at the time, absolutely loved it. Friendly staff, clean office, yada yada. They asked me to do a 5 star review for them, so I did. One month later I received a bill in the mail for a special type "resin" they used while filling a cavity that wasn't covered by my insurance. Never once did they ask me if I wanted an "out of coverage type resin" or show me a projected bill showing I'd be charged for this filling. They told me I had a cavity that needed filling, they filled it, felt great & I booked another appointment 6 months later for my next routine visit. Unfortunately, this place is a SCAM & I would not bring my business here which is sad because at first glance, it seems great. But do yourself a favor and find an honest dentist. Now I'm stuck paying for something I cannot fight because the filling has been done & according to them, I owe them money. Not cool. If there was a negative star, I'd give it. read more

Medi-cal dental patients beware! I chose right now dental because they were in plan with Medi-Cal. It was recommended that I get a deep cleaning which needed to be approved. When I went in for my deep cleaning, they said it was protocol for me to get laser cleaning as part of their deep cleaning regimen which was an additional $190. I kindly refused the laser treatment and they in turn refused to perform the Medi-Cal covered/ approved deep cleaning if I did not get the laser treatment. I will be reporting this to the Medi-Cal board as this seems like a negligent upsell on their part to refuse treatment without paying out of pocket for laser treatment. Feels like a bait and switch to me and with medi-cal fraud on the rise, I will be getting a second opinion. I hope other Medi-Cal clients highly reconsider hidden fees before they choose this dentist. read more

I was ok with this establishment, was their for 2yrs until I went for routine cleaning, and was denied for just my basic routine once a year cleaning. I was checked by the dentist and he said your yearly cleaning yes, was taken to another room where they told be that I had to do a BacterialDecontamination Full Mouth $125 today, I said i am here for a routine like the dentist said, she said this is new and it is recommended, No run it to my insurance, was told insurance don't cover its $125. I said No I will call my insurance give me the code for procedure. I am here just for my routine cleaning they told me NO they can't do it, until I pay $125. So basically they kicked me out. Beware of this dental office! They are part of Kaiser's Medicare Dental plan that pays them for cleanings, exams, fluoride and x-rays twice a year. I booked an appt 4 months ago. I recently called to confirm my appt for next week (July) and RECONFIRMED my Kaiser Medicare Insurance so there'd be no surprises. You know, the ones they spring on you. I talked to Lauren who confirmed everything and as the conversation was winding down she states to me... "Ok you are all set, we will see you on appt day for x-rays and exam and may need to reschedule your teeth cleaning for another visit". WHAT?? I told her I was confused, I have an appt for a teeth cleaning at 9:00, my husband at 10:00 so why would I have to come back for a cleaning? She informed me that they get very busy and there may not be enough time to do the cleaning! I informed her that I too was busy, my time is also valuable and having scheduled this CLEANING appt 4 months ago we should be able to get this done! They will try!! I was horrified with the conversation and lack of customer service! She called me back a few hours later to inform me that she needed to reschedule our appts because their ONLY dental hygienist was on vacation! I just hung up the phone! What dental office has 1 hygienist? IF, true then a doctor should step in and take care of their patients. All of a sudden they are on vacation? Here's what I think...this is a Cattle Herd Calling office who moves people thru like cattle. The cash paying, no insurance get 1st place, the better insurance people get 2nd place and so on down the line. My best guess is the Kaiser Medicare payments are at the end of the line for very little profit people like Medicare patients! That's okay with me because you spend all this money to advertise for new patients and then you ruin your chance with treating people like me as a second class patient who will let people know how you really treat people every chance I get. So go ahead and spend $1,000's of dollars advertising. What fools! I'll be sure and let Kaiser know their contracts are worthless! read more

WARNING!!!! This dental office refused to clean my sons teeth because he couldn't afford the (extra) irrigation treatment. This is a Medi Cal office which he was utilizing his Medi Cal coverage for his teeth cleaning, however they refused to do any treatment unless he paid out of pocket for the gum irrigation. This Dental office is known for its unethical Bate and Switch tactics. They sent my son back out the door and he received nothing. I have reported them to Dental Board, Consumer Affairs, California Dental Practice Act, for holding back other services unless you pay out of pocket for additional procedures. read more

This is for the Bright Now Dental in Temecula at Temecula Parkway. Beware with the after hours care. My husband has been suffering with a possible infection after getting a tooth pulled on Wednesday. He has been in pain for the last 3 days and has not been able to sleep. We have called the after hours care now 9 times and have left messages that include the phone number of a pharmacy to make it easier for the on-call dentist to submit a prescription. No one has called us back. I believe they really don't have anyone on duty after hours. It's a hoax. Or they just don't care about their patients. read more

I came to this office due to an insurance change, and it was just OK. I came on two different occasions, within a week of each other. I had a procedure done, the doctor was very kind, informative, and checked in with me to make sure I was okay. I was happy with that experience. I went in again (a week later) with a different doctor for the same procedure. COMPLETELY different experience. The whole thing felt very rushed, and was more painful. The dental assistant also forgot to grab my protective eyewear so the water was splashing in my eyes (which was very uncomfortable) . When I asked for eyewear, the Doctor said "close your eyes". The dental assistant, whom seemed very annoyed with my question then went and grabbed the eyewear from a different room and DIDN'T replace her gloves. I would've hoped and expected for a dental office to be more cautious with their sterile technique. If I hadn't experienced the second office visit, I would've said this is a great practice. We are a military family, myself and my five children have seen Dr.Hong since 2012!! I am scared to death of the dentist and so is my daughter but going to Dr.Hong helped ease that fear! The entire staff is always welcoming and friendly! I would literally fly back once a year just so I didn't have to find a new dentist, and am actually considering it (we are being relocated) lol! Thank you to the entire team for taking such good care of our smiles My family and I have been seeing Dr. Hong since 2012! I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat when it comes to dentists, and so is my daughter, but Dr. Hong has really helped us overcome that fear. The entire staff is always so friendly and welcoming. Great Dental Office and Staff! We traveled all the way from Carson City NV to get work done. We drove 7 1/2 hours and walked in and were greeted with friendly smiles and asked if we would like anything to drink. My husband had to have x-rays done and then get a temporary crown put on. In 2 1/2 weeks we will be heading back down so he can have his permanent crown installed. Worst dentist I've ever been to and I've had some bad experiences, pulled my 16 year old outta the chair before they even did her cleaning and the rest of the exam because the doctor was horrific! Laughing about how her smile is all messed up. Saying see how not normal this is? And telling her she had horrible hygiene since she had a few cavities. And repeating himself over and over laughing cause she was born missing a tooth so her teeth shifted slightly (which isn't even noticeable except to maybe a dentist. Months and months later my daughter still won't smile showing her upper teeth. He literally stole my 16 year olds smile. Like teenagers don't have enough to be self conscious about!!!! In response to a canned message to Charlotte. (below) It is tough to believe you are not aware of the problems in your company. I know I am not the first people to be horrified by the treatment in your office and by doctor Hong. I am in utter shock by the treatment I received today. I would hate to think the inattentive care I received was intentional, but Dr. Hong gave me the worst dental experience in my life. Nothing short of malpractice. First of all, I called their office because of a toothache on Tuesday morning and was told they would be able to get me in until the next day. Okay, no problem. The appointment was set for 11:30 am the next day. I got there at 11:20 am, checked in, and the nightmare began. The lady taking my x-rays didn't know what she was doing and had to make several attempts to get the correct images on my already aching tooth. She was finally able to get some acceptable images and guided me to the room. Dr. Hong came in and seemed friendly enough. He reviewed my x-rays and explained to me what he intended to do. Still okay! Dr. Hong put some Orajel on a Q-tip and rubbed it on my affected area. He put the Q-tip down, picked up the needle, and jammed it into my aching gums. He did not allow any time for the Orajel to numb my mouth. Then repeatedly jam the needle in my teeth, even poking my tongue. I cried out in agony, grabbing the arm of the lady on my left until I cried out, no more, please, no more. Dr. Hong said, no more, than it's going to hurt when I pull your tooth. The pain was excruciating, but now a portion of my mouth was numb, I agreed to allow him to give the additional shot. By this time, I could not stop shaking and crying. I feel so abused. Dr. Hong was so uncaring, showing no regard for my pain and suffering. I didn't know if this treatment was due to inexperience or lack of empathy, but I implore you to stay away from this place and Dr. Hong. You are the leader in your organization, and the buck stops with you. You alone are responsible for the treatment I received yesterday. With much that is given, much is expected. The judgment of your inactions is God's and his alone, for he is our leader. May GOD judge us all! read more

Terrible place. They accepted my insurance and it was submitted. There was a six week wait and found rejected because they did not complete my personal information. They resubmitted it. Another six weeks passed to find it once again was rejected because they did not include complete personal information. I called the office and was told they had a new system and the bugs weren't worked out. They said it would be resubmitted a third time. After another six weeks I found out from the insurance company that they had lied and it had not even been resubmitted. A totally untrustworthy company. read more

After the procedure i asked how much to polish and they gave me a quote then left me waiting for a bit. The lady left and got tired of waiting so i got up. They had me waiting for no reason. My wife with my teen daughter went to Bright Dental to get crowns for daughter's teeth after root canals treatment at another dentistry. The nurse who did her x-rays was not a professional. She took many attempts and shortly after another nurse came and helped her. We know that too many x-rays have bad consequences and a lot of attempts in a short period of time are bad for health. It seems like the first nurse was new and she was only practicing her skills. Then the doctor drilled her tooth, he made a hole in her gum and her mouth started to bleed a lot. The staff couldn't stop her bleeding. Finally, they stopped the bleeding and put on the crown. It takes two hours and her nerves. 15 minutes after the treatment one of the crowns came off. It was late around 6 pm and they didn`t answer my calls about our problem. I am really disappointed with this service. Hopefully, our bad experience will let them know that they need to improve their service. read more

A very important update from my first post in 2018. I had decided to use this Bright Now location for a second opinion to compare a recommendation from an unaffiliated dentist that I had already received. The other dentist had recommended and set an appointment for a root canal on my front tooth in 2018. I'm happy to report that I came to this location and was told that I needed no such treatment and that I should use something for my allergies! Now 5 years later, my tooth is just fine! I made an appointment for an Invisalign consolation, and I made sure to confirm with the scheduling person that they do offer the aligners. After the consolation and being there for over an hour, the staff tells me that they no longer offer Invisalign! They tried to sell me braces instead, and were surprised when I told them no. What a horrible experience. My first visit was ok, its hard to screw up x-rays and a consult. But after that, they couldn't get anything right. I was headed to Hawaii and wanted a veneer replaced, I conveyed to the dentist exactly what tooth I wanted worked on and she worked on the wrong tooth! When she worked on the other tooth, they put on a temporary that only lasted 24 hours before it fell off. The next visit was to put on the permanent crown, it didn't fit and they could not salvage it. Once again a impression was taken and another appointment was made to install the permanent crown. That was today. Again they got the crown wrong and could not salvage it. I asked for my money back and said I would go somewhere else. They have yet to refund my money. I had a bridge put in for my front crown that had broken off back in April. Bright now told me it would be $1900 even with insurance. I paid off the balance soon after. Now, in December they call stating they want me to pay another $700 because they quoted me the wrong price from the insurance back when it was done in April. That is bullcrap!!! How do you quote a price and I sign a contract to pay it, and pay it off only to find they want more money 8 months later. Great Christmas present! Thanks alot Bright Now, YOU SUCK!!! Both oral hygienist and dentist told me from my consultation even if I needed a deep clean they would try see what they could do today as I'm going on vacation Friday and can't wait 12 weeks for medical aid approval. At the end the "plan" manager tells me they can't do anything to help me today. Their out of pocket cost is $500 for a deep clean. I have never had any dental problems with my previous dentist of 20+ years, but when I came here, it felt like there was always something wrong with my teeth or gums. Maybe they are just more cautious or eager when it comes to inspecting for dental problems. It's just a hunch, but I feel like they try to push you to go for the recommended services and to be perfectly honest, I often question whether or not the recommended services are necessary or not. One of the issues I had was when I called to schedule my second appointment, I was told that my original dentist no longer worked there and that I had to switch dentists. On the day of my appointment, I was told that my dentist was not working that day...then why on Earth did you have me schedule my appointment on a day when my dentist was not there?!? Boggles my mind. I ended up getting assigned to another dentist who tried to prescribe me pain medications for my canker sore, which I get every now and then due to accidentally biting the inside of my mouth (Note to self: chew slower). Aside from the dentist mentioned above and the first dental hygienist I had who was not very amicable, I haven't had any issues with the staff in terms of friendliness, expertise, and skill. Still, it would have been nice to have been informed that my dentist no longer worked there or at the very least schedule me on a day when my dentist is actually there. read more

This place is not doing very well with keeping its patients safe. They are NOT disinfecting the chairs at all. I have been here 20 mins (10/13/2020 3:00pm-3:23pm) and 3 different people have sat in the same chair and no one has disinfected it. I have an autoimmune condition and have braces so yes I have to come in. I'm stuck here for now but definitely going to be looking into moving to a different dentist. read more

Normally I check reviews before making an appointment and don't go anywhere without a 5-star​ rating. However, I needed a tooth pulled fast and they could accommodate​ me the ​same day. I was completely satisfied with the service I received and the prices are right in line with every other office. Everyone was professional and friendly​ and the work was done as painlessly as possible. I am being very picky about​ not giving a 5-star​r review. There were a few things that made the difference. Communication between the setting of the appointment and the staff that performed the work could have been a bit better and I did have to wait several times for quite a while​. I did keep reminding myself that I was an emergency appointment, ​however. So a bit of a wait was quite understandable. read more

Can you say crooks!! I had to get 2 root canals and I was told $1,050 would be my portion. I paid, had work done and then weeks later was sent a bill for $275. They said they didn't charge me enough. I immediately called my insurance company. They went over the charges with me and said it seemed to them that I wasn't over charge, but the opposite. They over charge me by almost $600. They told me to ask the dentist office for the charges and procedures that were sent to my insurance company. I did so and was told on 3 different occasions that, Maria in billing, would email that to me.......Needless to say I still (6 months later) have not received it. I received a call yesterday from Maria (in billing). She had the audacity to ask me if I was over charge would I want to be reimbursed? I, of course, said "yes"! She then said "It goes both ways". I said "you can not show me the price for the procedure and then change the price once I have had the work done"!!! I also asked her if she would like Macy's to come to her and tell her the pants she bought last month went up and she owes them $100 more. The price is the price, you can not change it later for a service that has been completed. YOU CAN'T CHANGE YOUR PRICES WHENEVER YOU WANT!!! I WILL NOT PAY YOU, BRIGHT NOW DENTAL, YOU ARE CROOKS!! My family of four, that are patients there, will be looking into finding a new dentist. To all my Century 21 Award Agents (that we share a parking lot with Bright Now Dental). Do not go just for convenience! Ask Marli about her bad experience and them trying to charge her for a procedure that, come to find out, she NEVER needed. Big kudos to my dentist April. Excellent job on my deep cleaning. Received numerous shots for anesthesia. Not a single shot hurt while applied. Dr. April showed me my x-rays and explained areas that needed immediate attention and treatment. Extremely satisfied. The entire staff work as a team. Also special kudos to the administrator Maria Alvarado who explained to me the insurance involved and my benefits.
