On 10/17/25, we visited the Brighton Asylum for a "Spooktacular Evening!". (The facility was an actual Mental Asylum back in the 1940's). You can either purchase tickets online or right at the place. The basic tickets were $60 each. However, the closer you get to Halloween, the ticket prices go up. Upon entry to the Brighton Asylum, there are several people outside, directing you to parking. We went through 3 very cool and fun haunted houses. Actors are dressed in scary costumes. They try to scare you, but will direct you through the haunted house. Visibility can be a little tricky in some areas of the houses. The house has several exits, in case you've "just had enough". It took approximately 1 1/2 hours for the entire visit. Just some cautions for those who have any type of limitations. In one house, there's at least two tunnels you really have to "bend over" and walk through at least 10 to 12 steps. In another house, there's at least three long flights of steps to climb up and down. The facility does have some extras like ax throwing and an escape room which will cost extra money. Definitely recommend the Brighton Asylum for a fun evening! The Brighton Asylum is located at 2 Brighton Rd. off of Van Houten Ave. in the back area. Definitely a must do during halloween season! They have 3 different room filled with scary actors and interesting decoration. I recommend getting the fast pass because the wait can be long especially closer to Halloween. They also had a Horror film museum with replicas of the outfits worn in the movies. This has to be one of the best haunted houses that I have been to, hands-down! My friends and I had so much fun going in to this asylum. There were so many jump scares that had our hearts pounding! It was also quite a workout because we had to crouch down in some places to get through tight spots. We all loved it, and the scare actors did an amazing job. I advise to get there early, as the lines do get long later in the evening. I highly recommend this for an evening of Halloween fun. You won't be disappointed! read more

This haunted house was very good!!! I came here on Friday the 13th (September) on opening night. For $42.99 I had access to 3 different haunted houses. All of them were awesome and very creative with the design. I loved it! The staff was very nice and it was extremely organized. I was just disappointed that there wasn't any parking because the parking lot didn't look full but the kids running the parking lot said we had to park elsewhere. read more

FANTASTIC!! I was concerned that people said there was a long wait, but fortunately we had no issues with that. It was super well run and organized! The haunted houses were absolutely incredible! And the rooms just kept going and going and going! We LOVED it! I was screaming and laughing at myself every minute! I normally go to the headless horseman in upstate NY, which is great, but this is so much closer to home and absolutely wonderful!! We had week day general admission tickets and the lines weren't too bad. The houses themselves have a lot of cool animatronics but some of the facades are ready for a refresh. The interior actors were having fun scaring people and did well to keep up with the crowds. The roaming actors were really engaging with the lines and made the wait time fun. There was some fun and spooky music to make the lines move faster. There are plenty of sets to take photos with and a lot of fun looking carnival games. There is parking onsite. There's a haunted house this one was one of the best with lots and lots to see and so many rooms. And lots of places to take selfies outside while you wait. As a haunted house I rate it a five As a valentine haunted house, I was very disappointed. In the first building it was kind of a repeat of the haunted house with not many Valentine themed locations. In the house of light there were more Valentine oriented than the first part of the building. Okay, for the bad. I called ahead of time to make sure this wasn't going to be in any way sexually perverted for my son who is 23 with severe autism. I was warned about the costumes being skimpy which is no big deal. I was told it was all built for the scare so nothing would be sexual. In the house of lights a nurse asked my son is stuffed animal was his sex toy and if you did dirty things to it and started to sexually molest my son's toy. I was livid and I got him out of there as fast as possible when really all I really wanted to do was go back and give that a lesson and stuffed animals and grown men that carry one. One actress ruined it all. I've been pissed for weeks I feel like I didn't do enough to protect my son. My son got very emotional over it and I don't know how deep the damage is. read more

I've done 2 escape rooms, One being the Subway, which was very cool and why we decided to come back. However, We just visited today to do their newest escape room 1408. And left extremely disappointed. We arrived and the room wasn't even ready and we had to wait. During the room there were several technical difficulties, resulting in our time being paused. The attendant having to come in fix the mechanism for it to still not work and he had to bypass that part of the room. I understand that escape rooms have there kinks. But for a room that claims to be "scary" and have a storyline. There was no story line to the room. Nothing there made sense, it was random clues put together and you end up finding a little paper with a computer password. And there we escaped. The attendant even apologized for all the technical difficulties. After paying 120 dollars for 3 people I am extremely disappointed. And will not be attending this establishment again. For them to charge 40 dollars a person for your experience to be that lack luster and clearly should not a room that they offer there. At least a partial refund should have been offered for their lack of preparedness, failure to have everything work, and for their escape "room" to not even be a room just a couple of walls poorly put together. This was somewhat disappointing. Largely agree with what everyone else is saying. Visually its very nice looking and theres alot of attention to detail. In terms of actual scares its underwhelming outside a few that were very good. Mostly the characters spend time screaming at you which got old really quick. The creepiest ones were the quiet ones. Its disappointing considering its obvious ton of work was done to design these sets(it feels like a legitimate movie set at times) but it feels under utilized. The other thing is the lines are ridiculous. there needs to be a better organization of how groups go in and go out. You 'll be waiting a hour+ without a fast pass, theres no food or water to buy inside either. Two people passed on line while waiting and not because they were scared, the lines are that ridiculous. We had tickets for escape rooms and axe throwing but ended up skipping because the lines were just getting ridiculous and most of the time we were standing around doing nothing. The museum is fun to check out if your a fan of horror movies. Its not a bad price for the attractions, they make you feel like you're getting a deal but after standing in the lines you're not even gonna want to do any of the things included. I debated between 2-3 stars but settled on 3 because i did like the sets alot but I think there are better options if you're looking to be scared. read more

I would not give this place any star if I could. This review is just for the escape room which we did and also about the place in general. First if all it's located in a very secluded area and very difficult to find in between the warehouse. May be that's part of your first challenge! So the day we went there was a fire just right outside the place so everything had ashes and the whole scene was pretty scary. We would have never imagined they had escape rooms in the middle of this rubble. About the rooms, they are not well maintained not cleaned may be to give the look and feel of real escape rooms but when it's 90 degrees outside and you are attacked by mosquitoes/ insects everywhere you would not like to solve any mysteries. Also there is no air conditioning anywhere and no fans in the whole place so you are kinda stuck in a dungeon with really no way to go as you paid so much for this experience. IMO this place should not be business as it doesn't pass the basic hygiene test. The staff was ok and to me it felt like she was rude to us as we were taking time to figure out from clues. You can't blame us for that as the environment was such. So I guess if you really wanna experience what it feels like to be stuck in a real bad place then this place is for you. It was okay is the best way I can describe it, but definitely could have been better. They say on their website three haunted houses and I read the descriptions of each one. After going through the first someone in my party asked where the other two were and a worker said we just went through two of the three. Definitely a bait and switch because it didn't match up with the descriptions. Both houses were short, the second we went through in only about 10 minutes. The sets and special effects were my favorite part, very well done. There weren't enough actors but I won't fault them on that because I'm sure it's difficult for them to find workers. We did every attraction offered in about an hour, which I wasn't too thrilled about. If I had to wait 3+ hours to get in for how short the whole experience was I'd definitely be annoyed. My final thought is that I observed on Google Reviews the owner or whoever runs that for them arguing with negative reviews. As of yesterday they even claimed to have "looked someone's name up and canceled their tickets" after the person left a bad review for long lines. That's extremely unprofessional in my opinion and convinced me this is a one and done experience. read more

Went last night- Saturday night. VERY LONG LINES. Came at 10 with 10pm tickets and 9pm line was still waiting. You can get in faster if you pay extra 20 for "fast pass". Tonight was a " no touch" night. I guess some nights they can touch you. It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be .... but nonetheless it was still fun and go thru with friends. Here's the deal. A group of 7 of us came last night (10/23 full contact night). We bought tickets online but still had to wait on the huge line to get our physical ticket and fill out a waiver. That was a turnoff because my online ticket specifically says "Skip Ticket Booth Line & Proceed Directly to General Admission Line". While waiting in line they had several actors walking around scaring the patrons (and posing for pictures). This made it exciting and was a nice touch. After waiting to get tickets we then waited on line to get in. We did not have a fast pass but I highly recommend getting one. For $15 more you don't have to wait 2+ hours to get in. Get the fast pass. At first we were super excited but by the end of the line we were antsy and losing steam. They only allow groups of 4 in at a time so we were split up 4 and 3 (because there were 7 of us). FULL CONTACT NIGHT: It's the same price as regular except they give you a glow in the dark necklace and if you have it on they can touch you, push you, grab you, etc. I kept mine on it made the experience more exciting. Most of my group had it off. Overall the actors were great, the details were great and the makeup and masks were phenomenal. It isn't over the top scary but it's the best haunted house I have done so far. They went above and beyond with props and set design and had plenty of actors throughout. read more

Brighton Asylum is hands down the most fun haunted attraction I have been too. I would highly recommend the trip to the asylum for anyone who's looking for thrills and chills this Halloween season. They offer different ticket prices Thursday- Sunday that vary, we choose a Sunday three attraction options that totaled about 37 dollars per person which was definitely worth the price. There is free parking on site and as with any place the line can become a little over whelming depending on your ticket time but everything moved smoothly and there are characters walking around the grounds keeping the guests on their toes as they wait. This 2018 season features three attractions including the asylum, bleeding grounds and the tunnel and each experience was unique and exciting. Brighton asylum does a good job of adding to the experience and doing things i have never seen done in other haunted attractions. The actors do a phenomenal job in character as well as the rest of the staff in creating an all around creepy experience. Anyone who is looking for an exciting and scary experience should consider making the trip to Brighton Asylum. read more

Just got done with Brighton Asylum! It was great! My knees were still shaking after we were done with the entire course! I have been to many haunted house attractions and this one was by far one of the better ones that I have ever done! I do not want to spoil your fun so therefore I will refrain from being descriptive about what goes on inside! I will say this, it felt like we were inside for a while! We bought tickets for the 10 p.m. slot, through the website (about $33 per person). We got there at about 10:20 p.m., got my mobile ticket scanned, waited on the line for about 5 more minutes and we were on our way inside! So they let you inside in groups of 5 people, one of the attendants was going around asking if there was a group of two people, this was our queue and they let us right in, hence the 5 minute wait on the line after getting my mobile ticket scanned! It can get confusing as you get to the place! There were multiple long lines and we were lost ourselves, however, I do recommend you buy your tickets online and either print them out or have the mobile ticket ready on your phone and walk right up to the front where you will see an attendant scanning mobile/printed tickets! On that note I think the line organization can be improved! Otherwise the attraction itself was awesome! There is an on-site kiosk were you can buy your tickets too! I saw a tent where they were selling hot dogs and beverages as well, did not try em out but did smell good! If you have never been here, GO! And go now! read more

Searching for some really scary haunted house & this is what I found the haunted asylum. Bought a ticket online & I got the 10pm schedule. Get there around 10pm and ohhh my!! So many people in line. Its like a thousand people waiting outside in q cold weather so we ask if we can reschedule because no may we can get in until 1am. So they told us we can go whenever we want except thursday. Came back for the second time on a sunday afternoon. They open at 8 but we dicided to get there early like 5pm! Haha! No ones on the line & we wait till 6:30 to be on the line. If you guys wanna get in fast be sure to be there half an hour before they open. The line is long all the time. We get in around 8:30 and the haunted asylum is pretty big & lots of stuff going on inside. If you wanna get scared then better check out this place! read more

paid 180 dollars for everything with fast pass included, didn't need the fast pass and the haunted houses took about 20 minutes to complete. we got lucky and the escape room crew let us go on multiple times but if it wasn't for that I would have paid 180 dollars for 2 people for a single less than 1 hour experience. you are not permitted to go into the haunted houses more than once even with the highest priced tickets. not worth the 2 hour drive, ZERO live entertainment (even though it says this in the ad), and there is no food available other than bags of chips. if I drove 10 minutes to get here and paid 40 bucks for me and my girlfriend it would be a 5 star review. any more than that, not worth it period. read more

We started our experience this past weekend in the 1408 hour-long escape room (and got out with only five minutes to spare). This is definitely a really good, fairly high-tech escape room and we enjoyed it a lot; however, there were a couple of times a clue would 'trigger' before it's time and a moderator had to come into the room to reset. The escape room is a separate experience from the haunts and is in production year-round. I do recommend it though. As for the asylum, we opted to wear the glow necklaces to allow touching during the event. Overall, I would say touching was fairly minimal though. Our haunted house journey began in a research and development center where we were subjected to a series of testing procedures including gas and injections. This was a great opening that included sitting in a room that shook from side to side, a widely underused effect. That room was followed by an even better subway station, where while on the subway you really felt like you were moving from additional use of room-shaking. After we were led to the traditional asylum area and the staff quarters (the latter is known as the Bleeding Grounds and is on the 2nd floor of the asylum). Some of the key highlights were a shaky bridge that you had to cross and large animatronics such as a huge hand that reached out at you, a sewer alligator and a sewer rat. It was in this area that I was pulled away from my party momentarily and asked to clean the dirty toilets (kudos to this actor who was clearly committed to her role). Other highlights included a gigantic circular saw that you had to run by but as you did it popped out towards you (maybe the scariest moment for me), effects of falling bookshelves and dish shelves and a lighted glass floor where you could look down and see someone underneath. There was also a great set of an outdoor garden in one location that was especially well done. One set that felt a bit out of place in the asylum was what seemed to be a child of the corn area. We just didn't get how that fit in. At a high level, the sets and makeup of the haunts were fantastic! However, overall, the haunt experience was too short, lasting maybe 30 minutes for all three houses (taking our time to walk through and really enjoy the sets). Still enjoyable though. My review is for The Twitching Hour ONLY- not the main attraction/haunted houses (which were actually scary and fun). There were over a dozen people who purchased tickets for the Twitching hour so it was a large group. Staff divided customers into 2 groups. My group had Trevor and his girlfriend as a guide (I think they were both actors in the haunted house). The other group had some lady who claimed to be a medium and her apprentice (forgot their names). Trevor goes into the history of Brighton asylum (which we all know is fake and their was never any real mental institution). Trevor explains there's ghosts of people who were patients and people who were murdered by the mob. After this little history lesson we are led to the 1st floor of the haunted house while the other team goes to the 2nd floor. Let me tell you, Trevor tries his hardest to make you believe the place is haunted, but by the one of the night our group knew he was grasping at straws. He'd kept saying "did you hear that??" When it was nothing or an obvious noise coming from a vent. We're also pretty sure at some point he was making noise n trying to pass it off as something paranormal. We had a couple in our group who actually had their own paranormal cameras, they also found nothing and as we walked out the parking lot they also said Trevor was faking everything. By the end of it people in my group were actually making jokes and laughing about how silly everything was. The 2 stars is for Trevor. He's trying his best to fake paranormal happenings/EVP's and hype it up. He did put energy into what is essentially 2 hours of walking around trying to convince a group of paranormal enthusiasts to believe real ghosts n dark spirits are here, when it's painfully obvious it's not. His gf added nothing to the experience and just complained about stuff. I don't know how the "medium" was as a guide with the other group, but I got the feeling it would have been pretty boring. In the end, I'm still glad I went and got to see inside the haunted house again, because I got to see some scary props up close. But would I recommend this to anyone who takes paranormal/ghost hunting seriously? No. read more

I would not recommend this place to anybody why would you have to select your time slot to enter the haunted house if they're going to put you on a line to wait outside in the rain for over an hour just to again wait on another line to enter one of the three haunted attractions? Where was the disclosure to this agreement ? Also why did I have to sign a waiver after my purchasing tickets ? This is unacceptable for a place of business this is clearly just a cash grab. I will be disputing these charges and never will attend this place again I'd rather go to Tuxedo NY for a haunted attraction. If I could leave 0 stars I would. read more
